Trains at: Stafford, WCML, 26/01/18, Part 1/2

- An excellent start to the year by coming to the always busy station of Stafford on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from London Northwestern Railway, Virgin Trains, Cross Country and freight from Freightliner, DB Cargo UK and Colas Rail.
Stafford station was originally built by the Grand Junction Railway in July 1837 but was quickly superseded by a second station only 7 years later. This then prompted the building of a third station in 1862 was eventually replaced with the current structure that we see today. The station was rebuilt as part of the West Coast Mainline electrification.
The lines were built by Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway and the Shropshire Union Railways and Canal Company whom also used the station.
The bay platform hasn't seen passenger traffic for several years now and is now only used to stable freight locomotives on a very rare basis. Platform 6 used to be used by passenger services terminating in from The Chase line but that has since been stopped and those trains now terminate at Rugely, the station took in 2.3 million passengers during 2017.

I was at Stafford yesterday. 90042/046 and 90018/024 were both on exactly the same workings. The Mountsorrel - Carlisle ran 15 early and I was just coming out of the toilet on platform 1 when it passed behind 66302! Great video and I look forward to watching part .
It was just sods law really that they had to pass through at the same time so I couldn't really focus on any particular service, especially as seeing the DB set had the Malcolm liveried 90 running on it, but when I was at Stafford the Mountsorrel train never came through

Look forward to meet you. We have something new here at central station, closed gates.....you need to have a travel pass to go to the platforms. I never stay there but if we meet we are lol no trains new for me here in Amsterdam :) maybe there will be a suprise you never know :)

Stoke on Trent still have the direct London service it's via Birmingham and Birmingham too Liverpool is via stoke aswell

because you waited so long for a freight to come through, when the double pairs of 90s come through, I said to myself "that;s more like it", and Stafford never dissapoints, so will Stafford be 1st next year then as well?, thoroughly enjoyed watching Jarred, up to the usual high standards, keep up the good work and a like from me as always

I like the Bournemouth to Manchester Piccadilly cross Country voyagers but my favourites are Southampton Central, Bristol Temple Meads, Plymouth and Penzance to Edinburgh. What's yours tornado
I don’t like Voyagers, I think they’re awfully ugly and noisy and bumpy compared with the HSTs they replaced
Couldn't agree more.
Personally I would like to see longer trains reaching these areas of the country given the lengths of the journeys that they have to undertake. The voyager was never designed to do the distances that they are currently doing. You only have to look at the capacity of the trains during the rush hour periods. Especially between the bigger cities when there's very little standing room at best, really you need to have either 2 voyagers permanently attached to one another to increase the capacity or even just get rid of them completely and have a much larger fleet of HST's
390 to Edinburgh?? You don't see them often
Keiran Clarke Every 2 hours, the hourly stopping service to Scotland alternates between Glasgow and Edinburgh, with it being hourly North of Wigan with TPE running half of the services and VTWC operating the other half
Great video I'm thinking of doing a video here in future but I have recently done a video at stoke-on-Trent which is a good station to film at, I'm doing Wolverhampton next. Also virgin trains have one altered service virgins will now hopefully run return 3 times a day from Blackpool to London starting as of mid may 2018 (Chance only) as well as more trains from London to Blackpool as well as the one that use to run using pendelonos or some super voyagers as well.
If you come here I really do recommend that you spend a vast majority of the day at this station because your always going to catch something different, in many years to come there's going to be such a great variety in traffic running along this section

Rocky's Trains West Midlands *Railway* are the services around Birmingham. London North Western run WCML services, West Midlands *Trains* is the name of the whole franchised
What's wrong with voyagers going to EDINBURGH.
Keiran Clarke they do that normally
Most Euston - Glasgow or Edinburgh via Birmingham are Pendo's but there are some Voyager workings too. The 12.43 Euston - Edinburgh and 13.43 Euston - Glasgow are both normally a pair of Voyagers.
