I have a love and hate relationship with Procharger! LoL Way back in 2018 my uncle wanted to get back in the driver seat after him and my pawpaw had been helping me with my car at home and the track but they have never ran any small tire N/T and grudge racing they always bracket raced bit my uncle got bit by the small tire boost bug! He quit racing in 2015 I think maybe 2014 idk but he kept his car, it had basically been sitting since he quit running he kept in his barn and would start it up and play around with it every so often, it's a 75 vega back halfed 4 link big tire car that was originally built in 93 or 94 so it's a old race car but he's always stayed on top of maintaining it and keeping it solid. So over the winter we went to work to swap the car over to small tires 28x10.5w's are what's usually on the car, we went front to back top to bottom on that Thang new 4 link and anti roll bar setup had the old strange 9" in the car braced and all new every thing in it a badass aluminum 3rd member Strange double adjustables out back and coil overs and brakes up front, new trz tubular a arms he dropped a good amount of cash on all that. He decided he wanted to run a procharger setup on methanol from the beginning and stay small block and power glide, so the original 377 he ran for years that was originally built in 2001 basically got a nice rotating assembly the old ass Brodix heads got cnc'ed and the old super Victor port matched with a f2 procharger and Alston crank drive setup its a dart block and it's took every thing we have threw at so far. But when it was all together and running he started out with a CSU blow thru carb and it kicked our ass most of 2019 couldn't get it right changed abunch of stuff that it didn't need to try to make it run better, I think it went a best of 5.28 @ 132mph wich was very disappointing halfway through race season he finally listened to me and swapped the car over to Holley Efi with a hp ecu I found a old set of Precision 550# injectors getting the car to idle with those injectors was about the biggest problem we had for a while until we started turning it up, after all that the first time out with the car I think it was October every thing was the same except for the efi after a running it to 60 and 330 a few times getting the tune dialed in it went a 4.95 @ 140 something mph it was a different car and a hell of alot scarier. With that short wheel base it's a handful to drive and the fastest car I've drove the fastest I've been in the car is 4.74 @ 151mph and it was terrifying! It's crazy how much a tenth and half and 6 or 7mph faster feels in that car I would run high .80s low .90's all day but it gets sketchy as hell in a hurry!
