I have never even dreamed of making gears out of cardboard, but it's genius.
One thing is for sure, this is not a 5 minute craft 😂🤣😂🤣 We tried this in the morning, and we're still half way done. 😂 It's 10 o clock in the evening. 12+ hours have passed. The craft is great though. 😂

Hello, you can buy these things on Amazon.com.au.1. The yellow thing is called Car gear motor2. I used 2 1,5V batteries.

- Las bolas de los palitos son muy grandes y por donde van rodando, por encima de la parte ondulada del cartón, es que en el video no se aprecia.

Same I have to do this for school project XD
It looks like when the top part is added, that the stick end with the ball is “riding” on top of the slopes underneath. But when the sticks are shown beforehand, since they’re not able to stand upright on their own, the ball part isn’t on top of the under-slopes yet. It’s the only thing I can think of but it does look like that’s how it’s working since that’s how the sticks are moving (in line with the slopes underneath).

What size is the wheel and the other circles in the center of the carousel? How about the size of the second cylinder you make for the top of the carousel? And the triangles, what size are they?

The sticks have one marble that's glued to the end of the stick and then the marble goes up and down on the "triangles" made out of cardboard 👍

I was wondering the same thing. Then came to realize that maybe they help to keep the poles of the carousel rolling forward.

How do you make the gears? I have thick corrugated cardboard but the part used for the gear lining is thin and hard to access. What did you use for the rim?

Not sure but it looks like the fidget spinner rollers installed on the sides underneath the platform (2:19-3:00)are what makes the horses move up and down-the sticks that support the horses all have balls on the bottom (1:56-2:02) and when the sticks move over the rollers it makes the horses go up and down.
The marbles connected to the sticks go up and down on the triangles.

Can I ask another one? It is possible to create an mechanical mechanism with winding key like in old clock or watch?
The electric motor rotates the carousel too fast, and I want smoothness probably. I thought whether it is possible to use the musical mechanism from another old box or buy it on the Internet. But I don’t know how to calculate which mechanism I need. A box of wood or veneer will have a certain weight and pressure on the mechanism. I don’t know how to count them in order to choose the right mechanism.
I know that you only make cardboard mechanisms and things, and you're insanely COOL about it!
But maybe you can know and advise something on my question?
It's just the first time I have found such a beautiful DIY lesson on the creation of carousels, thank you a lot for making this.

I have two questions did it actually play merry go round music and can you something other than cardboard. I love your video.
It doesn't look like it's set up to play music but I'm sure there's enough room to fit some kind of musical mechanism in there. You could probably also use wood to make one.

I just figured this out, I think. When the marbles at the bottom of the poles run into the wheels from the fidget spinner it makes the pole to go up. When the marbles aren't hitting a wheel the poles go back down.
