Thanks for a very thorough review, and you are the first one I've come across who mentioned you can actually program manually as well. I've had my eye on buying this one (over EPOS) for some time now, considering the Moccamaster KGB as favoured alternative option. This EPOUR has some clear advantages with the rotating head and removable water tank for easy refill (would be very practical for my kitchen setup). However, this glass container looks very fragile especially with the glass handle. And will likely be expensive to replace once broken (as those usually are for any machine). For Moccamaster, replacement glass containers (with plastic handle) are much easier to come by having been on the market since the 1970s, and also offers the KGBT option with metal thermos. If only Melitta offered the EPOUR with a thermos container as option, then making the purchase selection would be a no brainer for me.
Loved your review! Absolutely fascinated by the spinning shower head. You covered removable parts, but is it possible to remove the “filter shelf” to fit something like a Hario V60 kit or a Chemex?
I always get sour coffee using the Epour even when grinding finer and trying different coffees. What else could I try to change, to get less sour coffees with it? In my case I always end up with a really steap cone shaped coffee bed and not a nice flat one.
make a divot into the coffee grounds before you start brewing, just like with manual pourover. It's possible you're grinding too fine and getting low extraction because of that.
That's a hard one truthfully! I was very impressed by the automatic brew head on the Melitta - Flip a coin 😂 Moccamaster are great - it feels so natural and is an absolute classic for a reason - the Melitta feels a little more techy. - BOth make great coffee - getting filter for both is no issue ...
We use the Epour daily. Usually for 1-2 cups at a time. But when we make a full 1 liter can the coffee tastes burnt every 3rd time or so. Even though we use the right and same doseage of coffee to water and the same beans with the same grind size. This never happens when we just make a cup or two. Do you have any idea why this could be? Do we need to hold the button to turn the Epour on before pouring water and coffee to have the "sensor" work for it to brew correctly? Or can we do it after preparing everything like in your video? I absolutely understand if you don't know why. But I thought I should ask as we have experimented and not been able to find the reason this happens every now and then.
It's the same grind size that is the issue. You want to grind coarser when using more water. This way the rate of extraction is lowered during a longer contact time the water has brewing through the grounds.. Try grinding coarser - and see how this goes 👍
Not really 😂 idk Moccamaster for me is a Classic that's unbeatable - though it depends if it's for more than one.Moccamaster are great for large batches - and it's a batch brew - whereas this Melitta Epour is more like an Auotmatic Pouover and taste like that more

Melitta the original cone filter! I've owned several of them.
Josh looks great and younger this time! Also, awesome video as usual
Thanks!
First! That looks fascinating Joshua. I think I've tried a pour over coffee from a similar brewer on a trip to Taiwan a few years back.
thanks Darren 👍
Nice review and nice haircut Josh! 👌🏻👌🏻
Legend! thanks
Wow! New looking hairstyle. Nice!
Glad you like it!
I absolutely love MELITTA
Delicious coffee cup after cup ☕
So good!
Nice video fun and fun and informative, pretty cool Melitta
Thanks again!
Is it possible to make the coffee stronger with this machine?
Yes - you could use less water - so the end brew is more concentrated - or grinding finer and have a slower finishing brew 👌
Hello, can you please show how to program a brew?
Does the brew head spin one direction in the SOuthern Hemisphere and the other in the North? :P
Haha 😂
Great video. Do you know if the 'beep' sound on the buttons can be turned off? Thank you.
Tahks! and not that I know of
So where can you buy this thing in the US?

thanks so much, unfortunately yes
Love it.

Try different coffee beans. More like Arabica less like Robusta. It's really a matter of taste.
can't choose between this melitta and a moccamaster select

Can i have melitta pour over filter in this macine to?
Yes 😀
Good Review :-) is it better then the Moccamaster?
Not really 😂 idk Moccamaster for me is a Classic that's unbeatable - though it depends if it's for more than one.Moccamaster are great for large batches - and it's a batch brew - whereas this Melitta Epour is more like an Auotmatic Pouover and taste like that more
When it's more automatic with a built-in grinder .. Add to Cart. I need something as simple for my family as a Keurig.
I totally agree! That's the Melitta Epos 👍 essentially an Epour, with an in-built grinder. Video coming soon!
You might want to consider a seperate grinder, since the EPOS one really does not make the cut.
Ohh... Come on.... I just bought a VBM Super DIgital from you this week and now you put up more toys... Give my wallet a break :P
Sorry! ;)
as usual too many plastic parts , plastic-flavored coffee -.-
Great point!
Plastic doesn't give off taste, unlike steel
