    Your lectures are excellent, I’m so glad I found them (through a YT search for “Ancient Greek Geographers”). I took a general Physical Geography class in my freshman year and really loved all of it; American schools don’t teach any geography or history, at any pre-college level, only a lump-all “Social Studies”, which has bits of this and that non-physical, mostly, science. The Geomorphology section of this first PG class led to my beloved academic and professional career in Environmental Geology. My other intellectual love is history, as you say, it is intertwined with geography. Someday, I would like to study Cultural Geography, too, but I am primarily trained and experienced as a physical scientist.

    Is the Harappa the oldest known civilization (not just culture) in India?

    • @TheGeoecologist
      @TheGeoecologist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the basis of archeological evidences yes Indus Valley Civilization is the oldest..but our epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata talks about a different time scale that is just available in literary evidence.

    Aoa sir it was nicely explained but u said that 22 alphabets were given by them n they were consonants n wovels were given by greeks n wovels are 5 so 22+5=27 .....but we have total 26 letters in english

    • @TheGeoecologist
      @TheGeoecologist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, English alphabets are derived from old phonetics (phonecians) and Greek alphabets only ...it doesn't mean they should exactly match the numbers...it's just old and new system...some has less some has more...how does it matter...it's important in terms of Geographical contribution (creation of knowledge)....hope you get it clearly.👍😊
