We played this today!! It was fun. at first, it was a lot of rules to remember. But after we got the rhythm of the game, everything started to make sense, turned out a lot easier

Hi Beth, I love this game, but it’s so complex that we’ve placed post-it notes (some cut up quite small) all over the board to remind us of the rules so we aren’t constantly looking them up!

I dont think the instructions say that you can stop "anywhere with words" it says you can only stop to attempt a mission
Hi Michelle, you are right that's not exactly what the rule book says, but I checked with the creator and he explained (basically to simplify) that you can stop anywhere with words: - you can also end your turn on classroom squares for example to pass an exam, or on a castle tower to travel to board 2. Effectively, why would you stop on a mission square if you don't have a mission to complete there? Hope that's clear! ;)
You can also stop at a dead end😉
I have added a personal extra to my family version. where if you get two of the same on the dice, you can stop anywhere with in that number. So roll 2 and 2, you could stop at 1,2,3 or 4. Just so that some times you get a bit more control of your walking/actions
Thank you for great demonstration! One question: how do you refill floo powder and portkey? Or do you get them only once during the game? If only once, then how do I travel to map number 2 again if I need to? It doesn't seem that you can go there by foot, only teleport, right?
Hi Nestid, there are some refills hidden amongst some of the other decks so you can pick them up as you go along if you are lucky, dependng on what squares you land on ;)

Í have looked everywhere and can’t find a way to fight these “deatheater tiles” from the bottom of the objects tile-card. I have read trough the manual and all of your videos and no mention is of how to fight them. Can you explain ?
Hi Eggert! Here is the description I have in my rule book about this : Combats with Deatheaters (Qualified Wizard and Team modes)
At the start of the game, a player places the 6 Deatheater tokens on any of the Castle Towers, where they will remain for the whole game. If you cross a Deatheater token in the castle, another player must play as that Deatheater, take one of the available Deatheater files, collect the Spells and Potions indicated by the file, and combat the player whose turn it is. The player attacks first, then the Deatheater, who can also use their cards. The first to have no LP left is the loser. Every Deatheater you defeat earns you 20 House Cup points. Discard the Deatheater token once defeated.
@@bethgames7783 So you just pick on your self or the other players pick for you?
Yes, I admit it dosen't make a lot of sense to pick on yourself, but if you're playing alone you don't have a choice.... or else, you can play without them in solo mode, or stick to underage wizard mode for the solo game.
Once you've used your floo powder is it done? Can you get more?
Yes, there are some more Floo powder cards in the other card decks so you can pick them up as you move around on the board!
Played the game today for the first time and we were confused about a lot of stuff. So other players (both in underage and qualified mode) can't bring other players to 0 LP? You can only get to 0 LP and therefore always lose all your cards only by getting owned by student's duel card or mission's enemy card?
Also we didn't know we could stop on written things and it felt very random, like we needed the luck to land on the classroom to remove our books or getting lp back. Lp were a problem especially. Some of us had healing potions and stuff, but apparently you can use them only in combat. We had a player sitting on a potion at 1 hp, but starting mission combat meant death as Tom riddle damages you as soon as he appears. I know the game specifies which cards can be used outside combat, but not being able to heal yourself while you have a potion in your hand sounds s bit silly.
Also are my lps capped? Like, if I start the game with 5 hp and I use health potion, is my maximum health still 5 until I land "+ lp" boxes? We assumed that the +LP boxes helps with your health cap, and that you can never exceed your starting health unless you land on +lp boxes
Hi there TheMosquitoHunter, I'm going to try to answer your questions! ""So other players (both in underage and qualified mode) can't bring other players to 0 LP?"" -- Yes, the idea is that when you cross another player on the board, you do a duel. The reason you can't reduce them to 0 is because when you have no LP left you have to go back to the start and get rid of all your cards. If that happened to one of the players every time they did a duel crossing another player it would slow the game down SOOOOO much because of the time it would then take to collect everything you need again. That's the reason for this rule just for duels. But of course it can still happen to you for a mission or another card because in those cases technically you have had time to be strategic and go and collect more LP. "Stopping on written squares" - Yes I agree it's easier to understand phrased like this! --- Unfortunate for the potion card.... I guess that's just the way the game is designed. It does mean you have to watch your LP level closely! LPs aren't capped. When you start, you should only have the number of LPs that are dark on the card. The faded ones are spaces to add extras; and there's no limit. You can add them via squares or cards. I mean, how 'topped up' you want to stay really depends on your strategy and the time you want to spend collecting LPs but given all the unknowns it's a good idea to bear your LP level in mind!!
