Kitchener said in an interview that he geh real talk for moving with the shift with Kaiso to Calypso and soca etc. But he understood that change was inevitable and he had to move with the changes while at the same time still maintain certain core elements, of the old sound. I feel like throwing shade at artists who choose to include what influences them within their soca and Calypso ain't the way. And I am happy those artists do that especially those who can really sing. Not because most of our artist "talk" and chant as yuh say is our twang, there is still room for those who can sing to show off their abilities. Music shouldn't be stifled, nor the origins should be forgotten. Nailah Blackman, Voice, Terri Lyonns, Nadia Batson, Patrice, Destra, Kimba Sorzano, Hey chopping, Coutain, Machel and many others do an excellent Job of incorporating sweet R&B melodies which I really enjoy. I think there is space for everyone to express themselves within the origins of the sound and songs we know we came from. Time to give everyone room to grow so we won't be fed up of de same ting over and over. Bless
