If you work for a corporation, you will NEVER be an "essential worker" no matter what this guy says. You will always be a disposable serf to upper management, and they will always be trying to find a way to outsource, automate, or eliminate your position altogether.
Exactly. I have a aunt who is an accountant and she tried to insult me because I’m an emt. She was fired last month and I had to remind her that her accountant degree is nice, but she is expendable, I’m not because I’m one of many essential workers. 😂
@@sweetrose19accountants are an expense. That’s just how corporations see them because they don’t bring in revenue.sad your aunt had to learn the hard way.
Glad I saw this comment before I bothered watching the video. These lists are always like, "you can get rich working from home! Just have 47 degrees, 70 years of experience, and a purple car! Simple, right?"
So I was a remote worker ( in the US)had an excellent job remote customer service five of us were just fired. Our jobs were given to international workers , outsourced.
Suspect under Trump's administration a lot of those outsourced jobs will come back Stateside. Strongly suspect it is part of the long term game plan to impose some kind of tax on companies that outsource jobs, or incentivize keeping jobs Stateside. Here is hoping and praying.
@@AllThePeppermintTrump always sides with the wealthy. If it's cheaper to outsource, he'll agree every time. Like every multi-millionaire and billionaire, he doesn't care about working people.
@@AllThePeppermint But that would cost major corporations money, which therefore messes with shareholder money, which therefore messes with the people in top position's money. What corporation is gonna allow their representatives in Congress to pass that? Especially when the incoming administration promised them even more tax cuts?
"One misplaced comma could literally make or break a million dollar case." 1. Let's eat grandma. (Prison time) 2. Let's eat, grandma. (Nice b-day gifts) 😂Okay, that really makes sense!
And given how stupid the majority of Americans, including AI, are when it comes to grammar, I can see why it pays well. Even Grammarly is just a tool for dyslexic folks and not a replacement for human beings who ARE naturally apt for writing.
@@melaniemiller4567Except NO ONE hires a “legal proofreader.”🙄 It’s already the job of the attorneys and legal support staff combined, along with their already long list of responsibilities. There’s no separate job salary designated just for proofreading. Unfortunately, it’s unrealistic. I wish it were true, bc that is one of my absolute strengths!!
I needed this video. About to take my final exam in digital marketing on Coursera. Been a truck driver for 12 years and no other job will hire but truck driving jobs. I’m trying to make more, be remote, less stress and travel because the road had me at 55 hours a week. I can’t force anyone to give me a job but here’s to hope 😊🙏🏾
Great that you are trying to better yourself. After I retired from trucking with 25 years behind me I followed a young woman who started WOMEN IN TRUCKING online Facebook group. This woman finally had to get her entire degree online.
I need a job I can do from my wheelchair. I have a Degree in Human Resource. In my Military career was a Reconnaissance Officer. I can read 500 pages of reading per day. I can balance corporate payroll and paying out dividends. I have an IQ of 147. In every job I’ve had attention to detail, repetitive work, complex sorting, a sharp memory. I’m tired of retirement. Being disabled won’t get me past the door! My mind is still sharp and clear at 63!!!
At this rate its your age. My mom was suddenly let go after a big merger. She had a ton of seniority and experience with medical billing for nursing homes and wasn't able to find a job. Fortunately even after he died dad was able to take care of mom, his retirement benefits were more than she was making before taxes and insurance was taken out so she was able to retire early.
@@Icanya69an older employee is considered short term. Companies want people that will be there for 5 years or more to equal out the expense of the cost of hiring. They don't want people that may only be someplace for less than that they are determining that they would rather not take a risk on what will be an outstanding employee. And they will just come up with some bs excuse as to why they were not considered.
@@Icanya69sadly ageism is a huge issue; while companies cannot legally discriminate against anyone based on age, they will find other pretenses to disqualify/fire older/elderly folks because they think they're a bad investment.
One of my sisters is a proof reader. She's worked for publishing companies, a major food company, law firms & more. If you find a typo on a website, product package, in a book & etc. contact the company. Tell them you found a typo & ask how much they will pay for the information. Get it in writing & check for typos.
That's interesting. How does that work? Do you just read through random websites looking for errors? As in, off your own back, random websites and not targeted with targets to hit set by your boss or something? For example, me right now could just open website, find an issue then ask for money in exchange for info regarding the typos?
I once found a typo in an educational website, told them the correct spelling, and they misspelled the word again. Do companies really pay for typo-fixing information? I'd be great at that. Misspellings just leap out at me.
What??? I find a typo on websites or newsletters etc. at least once a week or so, and I’ve always just sent them an email or tweet etc. I just found one on Crash Course’s website that I sent them a screenshot of. I should have been asking them for money for this?
i got laid off as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator in May and have had no luck finding a new role with 3 years of experience. They outsourced my team to the Philippines. I wish companies couldn’t get away with that.
To me, that's when the American dream dies. My grandpa worked for Gates rubber factory. It was basically warehouse work. Owned a home, 2 cars, raised 3 kids, and left his kids a pretty nice inheritance. Gates closed and was outsourced in the 90s, about the time he retired.
Really crazy that some people are here in the comments criticizing this FREE helpful information that was given just because it didn’t pertain to them specifically. Maybe there’s a reason those people aren’t finding a job, that sense of entitlement can’t get you too far in life. Maybe try to be courteous and appreciative and not so demanding. Thanks for the great info!!!
Misdirected anger. I think a lot of these people are searching for high-paying, stable remote jobs that require no degree and no experience. Whenever someone tells them those jobs don't exist, they get mad.
Unfortunately those jobs don't exist you are much better just finding a customer service phone job and starting from the bottom and working with people put their expectations way too high @@felicityfortuna
I don’t think anyone was criticizing his info. It was the assurance that the jobs would never go away. And by the way, these salaries suck. I started at $30/hr in 1993. Obviously what is happening in US is big corporations going to offshore more and more to force American workers to work for less. But our cost of living keeps climbing. We are becoming a nation of slaves. This is the result of income inequality. So I appreciate the video and his ideas, but I know nothing lasts forever. He should too. The language jobs, like writing and editing, may last longer.
@@gingermcintosh6545You are pretty much wrong on all accounts, especially when you bring "income inequality" Companies off shored because of regulation ,taxes and people wanting lower priced goods . Not to lower the wage of American workers. Good entry level jobs that people could get have gone to illegals and the fact that it is below American standards to do some of these jobs .God forbid you flip burgers in high school to gain work experience and not showing up with blue hair and pajamas wanting to unionize your minimum wage job because you feel you need only work an hour a day for the managers pay. Then you complain about income inequality . Don't like corporations? Don't work for one !
I'm so stoked to have found your channel! I am a former attorney. I can't do that work anymore, and need a job that won't agitate my weak heart, the way litigation did. I have been in despair! This info is such a huge help!
Proof reader, patience, obsessive attention to detail, ability to write clearly. I retired years ago but could be tempted by a few of these positions. Thanks for the information.
Same here. Your description is me, too. I'm looking for either a better position than I currently hold (no possibility of promotion) or something to subsidize my set pay check. Good luck to both of us!
@@mrss4328Me too! I see them constantly even in published books. Proofreading comes naturally for me, but I have not been able to find anything in four years.
How do you see that as the only real job security😮? I was in business. A builder. When the economy busts, interest rates rise etc. , there goes your security. I witnessed many many people losing everything after working extremely hard in their small businesses. Not one in a hundred make it. I tried the restaurant business. Ultimately failed after 3 and a half years. From exhaustion. Too many hours for too little miney.😮 A small business has to become your life at first. 90 to 100 hours weekly. There is no such thing as 100 percent security in life 😮 ....the attitude that you are presenting will help noone. Just saying. Always look on the bright side of life....imagine whistling 😊
The benefits coordinator caught my eye. I'm trained in medical coding but my experience is in medical billing with a healthy dash of customer service and a deep love for manuals 😁
IT professional here - FYI, you mentioned a Data Analytics course for the Data Manager position - these are two very different things. Data Analytics is more about compiling and presenting existing data using Tableau, Snowflake, or Power BI, it requires a lot of in-person people skills and an eye for design. Data Management is a backend role that requires knowledge of SQL or Oracle more than anything else.
A lot of these tech based jobs are being outsourced very recently. Several companies, right before Christmas, laid off a bunch of their their people in all areas (gave a select few the option to stay on a little longer to train their replacements), and are moving out of the us for labor. Some workers have been coming forward.
There was a court case of truckers vs employers. They won their case of claiming additional compensation because the contract had been written by someone who refused to use an Oxford comma. Literally one single comma.
If jobs like that exist EVERYONE would be employed and these kinds of videos wouldn't exist. I've read into many remote jobs and how HARD they are to get on. So true!!! If it's easy to get on a job, you're not going to make that much and will have to drive to it. If it's pretty hard to get on chances are it's a remote sitting at home in the pj's.
A lot of Data Tagging jobs are being outsourced to places in Africa. The jobs subject people to some really dark images and videos--things no one should see. Things that are not legal. Beware of that downside. Ppl are being underpaid grossly when it is outsourced. Several companies that hire contractors can be really shady and beware of scammers. A great news segment on it all just came out.
I do not say this to deter ppl or make a sweeping generalization. I have worked content for over a decade. All kinds. But this new frontier is a bit wild. We should all do our due diligence to look into companies before investing our time and info. The major outsourcing of US jobs is a hard pill to swallow, but hearing what these jobs can sometimes involve tagging disturbing material is just…I dunno. Keep looking and if you take a job that subjects you to anything, please protect yourselves. ❤️
I was thinking about the morality of some of these jobs as I was watching the video. I do not think I want to be involved in anything AI related, especially teaching AI. The ramifications are more than I want to explain to my Lord God why I was involved. Just my take.
trust and safety agent would be perfect for me! I got hired for a customer service job which turned out to be email based and mostly included content moderation. I loved it I'm really good at it. the only problem is a lot about reported content will eat at your soul.
Not remote but it's the main reason why I got a CDL. We're always going to need drivers man. Whether you drive a school bus, work for public transit, haul freight or operate machinery it's always good to have in your back pocket.
@WalkingDead2024 ill be honest if you get a local/regional job, like fuel hauling or even cryo, you'll definitely come out on top. Private fleet really helps.
@@WalkingDead2024 how much do you make? Cuz I started as a School Bus Driver making like 16 an hour back in 2016, then moved to Public transit in 2019 making 24 an hour and got to max pay in about 4 years to 35 an hour. Then School Bus drivers all went up so I left Public to go back to School Bus and make 30 an hour. Only 6 1/2 hours a day but I still make about 800 a week with tons of free time.
I know that you're 100% passionate and serious about what you're saying in this video, but the timely jokes are definitely on point my guy. I appreciate the content.
Love your content Shane! Wonder if you could do a feature on older and/or disabled workers. With people living longer and SS drying up, older workers are going to be a growing sector. Disabled workers have always been neglected. There’s no one addressing either imo.
Rather than jobs, I'd recommend a video on skillsets you can use to get into higher positions. For me, getting basic skills with spreadsheets changed my whole career trajectory from never ending entry roles or management positions to being able to slowly move into much more useful roles like business analyst or even customer success management.
Did you get the spread sheet knowledge and then start applying for jobs? Did it help you get a business analyst position or do you have that type of position right now?
I'm definitely interested in the proofreading remote jobs. I've had an extremely difficult time getting an in-person traditional job that's not in a restaurant and pays more than $9 an hour
As someone searching for new work and has found that in the past I prefer work that can be considered boring but offers me something to repeat a lot and master, I am appreciating this series of videos a lot. I will be looking into Trust And Safety, Quality Control, Data Management, and Writing positions in my search for sure.
The timing of this video appearing in my feed must be divine timing. I am 52 with a young child w special needs. My husband recently left us so here I am, unexpectedly trying to revamp my life so that I am able to provide for us. I have customer service skills and am hyper focused on details. I am going to look through a few of these recommendations. Thank you so much. I’ll definitely look into some of your other videos as well.
just came across your channel. this all sounds very interesting, and I will dive deeper into that topic. my situation is, autism is fun, and I am unemployed and in europe. and while some of those jobs seem boring, you are essentially describing autism dreamjobs. I see lots of opportunities. and a good salary definitively does not hurt.
@@NanaWilson-px9ij make a test. but as a warning. those simple tests are just an indicator. real testing takes hours, and depending of where you are, might cost a pretty penny. on the other hand, 1 out of 100 to 1 out of 60 persons is on the spectrum, so the chance is there. it's not lottery winning chances, it's quite possible. by the way, I have been diagnosed with 39, and especially women are harder to diagnose. they are quicker on developing masking methods.
I definitely am Autistic and also was diagnosed. I am waiting for disability for that and other issues. My problem with this is as I look for these kinds of remote/ work from home jobs, it still says you need a number of years of experience in the field, I don't have that specifically, I was a graphic designer for an interior design firm and I did admin work etc. Also still trying to find a way to make extra money in the mean time but cannot work a full-time job consistently and job expert says "lense fitter" which involves standing for 8 hours. Makes zero sense a I have tremors and can't stand for that long and need several breaks. TMI. I hope you find a job like this where you are able to earn well and enjoy it. Also Happy new year.
@@yazajag I understand. there are so many different challenges with autism. thank you for your kind wishes, I wish you a happy new year too. the thing I am looking for is working for example for a US based company, from the cozy home here in austria. there will be taxation challenges, but that happens. there are other advantages. and yes, here they want a lot of experience too, but are not ready to hear about extra challenges. might be a mistake by companies here. oh, and regarding weird jobs that pay well and offer quite some free time: winding MRI coils. mind numbingly job, but it's important to be precise. yes, the superconducting coils in magnet resonance imaging.
Thank you! I’m dealing with a major injury, on top of having autoimmune issues. I’m desperately in need of a remote position, because unfortunately, getting up and going into the office isn’t an option for me. I live in Los Angeles, so working a 9-5 would mean getting up at 4:30am just to get to the office by 8am (which is the start of most companies business days) and is just not possible for me. I’m definitely going to look into a few of the positions you’ve mentioned. It’s great to know my OCD can be a strength, and not a hindrance. 😉
Same. Emotional and physical disabilities here, it's hard. I can't do stuff that requires talking on the phone because of the anxiety. I often can't form a sentence.
I think it would really depend on the specific physical disability. Just general physical disability is still a broad category. For people who are unable to stand but can speak and type well, pretty much any administrative role or customer service role could work. If your typing or computer use ability is impacted but possible, I'd say a customer service focused role may work - a lot of them require basic information entry or notes to be written, but they can be pretty low expectations. But if you had a speech issue like aphasia, it would be a totally different set of jobs. Paraplegic vs hemiplegic people are going to have different options and that's just one sub section of disability.
Wow, well.. I wasn't looking for this video, but as an English teacher with an ear to the ground for good opportunities, I'm glad it was suggested on my feed. Your information has really opened my mind to some other easily skill translatable possibilities. I really like some of the ideas, especially the policy writer, because I essentially do that for complex standards that to help my students understand them better.
So many people asking for very specific videos, thank you for this one!! Use it as a spring board to suit your specific needs while searching for a remote job.
I'm good with boring and repetitive. I really miss it after working for chaotic & disorganized companies. Please put me in a corner & leave me alone to do my job with minimal phone work & I'm HAPPY! I'll entertain myself when I clock out. I'm looking on indeed for some of these titles and don't see very many or it has requirements in don't meet unfortunately.
The last two jobs (#5 & 6) caught my eye. Over the years, I have been told by friends that I am a smart robot. I'm actually beginning an Editor job this week 👍 Boring is okay, as long as it pays the bills.
Data manager sounds very interesting. I've been working in the pharmacy for about 12 yrs now. The amount of reading, sorting, and organizing that I do is never-ending. Most people get bored of the constant tedious paperwork and data entry involved, but I actually enjoy it. I've been looking for a side hustle for some extra cash. I wonder if I can land a weekend or PT job?
It'd have been nice if you focused on positions that are fully remote instead of hybrid. I only made it about halfway before realizing that the positions you talked about are ones that companies don't want people doing remotely... at least, doing ONLY remotely. So many of those positions are only available if you live near a company office and they expect you to be on site multiple days a week. Hybrid and remote work is NOT the same.
My hopes are so high going into my first video of yours. Simply put, I'm hoping you're the mythical "guidance counselor" I heard tales of back in my youth... Even if I'm finding you 35 years after high school graduation, at least I've found you.
Quality Assurance for tech caught my eye. I've been watching your videos for a year now. I'm also interested in becoming an IT support specialist remotely
You should also say that most of these jobs require a university degree, 5 years of experience and $15 per hour in Tucson Arizona and they never respond other than to sell your information.
Yep! I think all of these jobs are too good to be true. Tucson is the worst job market! It's exactly like what you said!! You can't PAY for a person to reply to you!
@@jutdaestay8 so so true. That and racism, with Latinos acting like white nationalists, and behaving like they’ve more rights to work than black women.
Haha funny to see Tucson mentioned here. I went to U of A and worked through most of college at a $15/hr basic customer service job, only requirement was knowing English and having a DL (tough!). What $15/hr jobs in Tucson require 5 years, degree, etc.? And whatever ones there are, why would anyone take such jobs while simpler jobs exist that pay the same?
@ nothing has changed here. We still got jobs paying $15 an hour. You work 5 years and when you change jobs, they still want to pay you less or just about the same. Workplace dynamics are still toxic and everyone is busy complaining about how much they are paid and why new employees are getting employed without understanding that the newer employees get $1 more because they’ve more experience. It’s just a toxic environment to live in and work from.
@ Tucson has really gone down hill. You can get easier jobs for $15/hr but those of us looking for better jobs (that used to pay higher wages than minimum for people with skills) are finding that they are still only paying peanuts. The companies who used to thrive with great workers that they only had to pay $15 are struggling to keep up now that minimum wage is so high. They will have to start paying more very soon if they want good workers. They are going to find that those willing to do a job very well (and are really good at it) are worth more than the current disaster of employees and customer service.
I'm elderly widowed and handicapped what kind of a job can I get that would be part-time from home that will not make me lose my social security I have to make under $1,000 a month I have a heart condition so it can't be too stressful
I work for data annotation tech, and most of the higher pay jobs are actually chatting with large language models. I really like the job and I've had regular work for about two years. It is boring but consistent.
Most companies require their benefits coordinators and talent acquisition coordinators to have experience in human resources, a college degree, and/or professional certifications.
I did data labeling for AI for a major app. It was easy but mind numbing. I would recommend it but not in conjunction with another full time job. You’ll have poor performance and burnout. I had no experience and was getting reprimanded almost daily for a week at 4am because the management was overseas. The management would come in waves and leave you alone to work in peace for about a week, then they would come back around in full swing and make you feel like crap. I survived the entire contract but I’m not so sure I would do it again unless I was compensated better.
These jobs will not hire anyone who doesn't have a spotless background. I had a felony 9 yrs ago and I've had 3 job offers and had them ALL recended after my background check showed the 9yr felony. It's a possession charge. I went out and got a new computer, got internet set up, did everything for remote work and I've just about given up because nobody will hire me. I just want to work and I can't.
Your initial description of data manager sounds like what I do on a daily basis cataloging books for a library. I do general cataloging and fixing old mistakes. And just polishing up records that were sloppy to being with. Or, fixing records that kind of need updating because the standards have changed.
Requires experience. Those who have these for experience will already fill the positions. Show jobs with zero experience or coding experience making $50-150k.
Legal proofreading sounds promising. People often call me a grammar n@zi. I’m not super familiar with Chicago style, but I’m an expert at MLA and APA. I don’t have any experience outside of just writing good papers in high school and college.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 as an HR professional, I really enjoyed this installment. Especially when you broke down what each role does. The humor is spot on! GREAT INFO!! THANK YOU!
great work thank you for sharing useful information if it isn't a problem for you can you divide your videos to section so it be much easier to watch a certain parts again after finishing the video thank you again for the video
Several of these jobs hit my skillsets, attn to detail - I was basically a company's copywriter for information bulletins, display/broadcast ads, press releases(journalism deg).I'm sick of my job due to micromanagement. Copywriting jobs, pls
If you are experienced, you should understand the search process for that type of job and the platforms for said search (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc). He already laid out the solid groundwork, it’s up to us to do footwork.
I’m well qualified for a few of these positions and would be thrilled to work any of them. But I’m 72 and have only done volunteer work for over 20 years. Retired from my long career 20+ years ago. Are these employers interested in workers like me?
A simple Google search should work just fine, but you can probably find these on job boards as well. If you Google search "data analyst job" for example, a "Jobs tab will appear next to "All" at the top. Click that and you will see all jobs available. Be sure to filter if you need to, and always double-check the job posting by going to the company's website to make sure it is a real posting. Scammers post fake jobs all over (Google and job boards won't know the difference), or you just might be unsure because it's a third-party recruiter posting the job for the company.
how do I get a remote job for data Analyst or data science and your video on remote job that no one wants to do or knows about talking about data analyst and funeral analyst
I LOVE proofreading. I don't like proofreading poorly written self-published fiction and I don't like proofreading the same 101 level "content marketing" articles written 10 different ways. I don't like getting into a bidding war to the bottom on freelance platforms or having to race against the clock to proof X# of words in Y hours regardless of the original's accuracy. I can't believe I've never heard of this. Ive even worked as a paralegal and have been trying to figure out how to get a foothold into the world of technical writing because I enjoy the exacting nature of technical writing. Wow. Okay! Thanks, and I hope to hear more from you soon!
You just gave me so much hope. I'm worried about a potential layoff and thought of my two years of exp as a content mod and one of them being in the Trust & safety side of e-commerce as just entry-level and meaningless. These jobs through two different companies and positions. I thought I would have to return to working for the state government and lower wages. I'm taking notes right now! Thank you!!!
My job isn’t considered remote but it is home based. I definitely don’t worry that my job position will ever lay off because we save the company hundreds of millions of dollars every year and we seem to be saving the company more and more money year over year. My job wasn’t listed either. I do fraud prevention for a large corporation. Plenty of companies do hire remote workers for my same job though. Also, AI does a terrible job at analyzing the same information we analyze and we often have to over rule what AI decides.
@ I analyze risk of orders by looking at various data points that are created when an order is placed. Sometimes we will call card holders and make sure they are authorizing / aware of purchases. At times we have to call banks to verify card holder information. We also take into account things like if a person has a habit of stealing from the company by sending back false items, while seeking a financial return. We also look for risk of someone being scammed by another person and we will block their purchases if we have sufficient enough information to back the probability that they are being scammed because that unfortunate person will be out all of that money and have no way to get their money back from their bank or from the company they are buying from if they discover that they are being scammed. Scams are the most heartbreaking to uncover since often, the person being scammed has already been swindled a devastating amount of money.
Awesome video. I went through and searched every job listed / talked about. Without having a degree and minimal 2 years - 5 years of experience none of these are possible majority of them ask for 2 years minimal. Or some offer training of you have a degree the ones that don't need either are very low paying always on the 50k a year or less trend line
Shane, First i want to thank you for all of the content that you have put out. It has been exceptionally informative for me. I am planning to transition to a remote position in the very near future. What do you think when it comes to a remote position for someone that will also be full time RV'er which is what I am planning?
1) Some remote jobs require you to stay in a specific city or area while working due to regulations. Most of these will say so in the listing or during the application process. 2) Many remote jobs require not just steady internet but a certain minimum speed and connection quality. 3)Related to point 2, not all RVs can have internet hooked up so do a thorough check on your rig.
Just came across your channel I’m very impressed the way you present these jobs. I will be researching your channel again Not sure what I’m looking for but looks from my first visit here I will be finding something
Be essential; not educated. Decent advice even for other types of jobs. Not that getting educated shouldn't be a priority, but that being an absolutely integral part of an operation is virtually always going to be the easiest way to keep good quality employment. If you for instance make something without which an air conditioner cannot function, your product becomes essential, at least until some change down the line forces you to make something else. Make your labor that product, sell it for big bucks. Pretty solid.
I really appreciate your thorough presentation of the expectations of these positions. You just summarized long drawn out and very confusing job descriptions for a lot of people. I now have a better sense of what I could pursue. Tanx! 😊
I can't believe I used to be a benefits coordinator, but because the company didn't consider us to be that much of an asset, we were getting paid half of the low end of the salary estimate in this video. 😭 I've been thinking of going into data analysis, so I'm taking this video as a sign.
Shane, In this video I liked the job position on Quality Control Analyst. I'd like to hear your opinion similar role of QA game tester. It could get frustrating playing the same level of a game over and over. But the job could be a good way to get your foot in the door for working at video game company. I'd like to hear your take on the pros and cons of that job.
the problem isn't with the skills or experience these days, the problems with finding a job now is the automated filtering services these companies use as well as online applications. when you have 20,000 people apply for a single job your odds are next to nothing. when you have a computer filtering out applications based on key words or choices from a employment test your chances are equal to 1 in 20,000. may as well play the lottery. i got a better idea. these companies can hire me to come up with real hiring strategies. one thing i have noticed about getting a job these days is the circumvention of the application process completely. it's just people in HR hiring people they know. or people in the company referring you, so you have to know someone to get a job and we all know how well that turns out for skilled and dedicated workers for finding positions.
This has been going on for at least 50 years or more. Back in the day for many to get job experience was to go to pay an agency to find them a place to apply. Then if hired, the person had to pay the agency part of the first 3 paychecks. This probably still around for at least the elite jobs.
I applied for Data Annotation positions about a month ago. Got approved from the first assessment but haven't gotten any projects yet. Going to research other data tagging companies.
Hello Shane, thank you so much for sharing this information. I have been laid off since August 2024 and has been looking and have filled out so many applications and here we are in December 30, 2024 and I have anything.

Suspect under Trump's administration a lot of those outsourced jobs will come back Stateside. Strongly suspect it is part of the long term game plan to impose some kind of tax on companies that outsource jobs, or incentivize keeping jobs Stateside.
Here is hoping and praying.
@AllThePeppermint yes! Hopefully, a lot of factories come back too!!

You're also unlikely to land either position without either a degree or lots of domain knowledge and technical skills.

A lot of these tech based jobs are being outsourced very recently. Same. Emotional and physical disabilities here, it's hard. I can't do stuff that requires talking on the phone because of the anxiety. I often can't form a sentence.
All of these jobs?? Why wouldn't any of them be a fit?
I think it would really depend on the specific physical disability. Just general physical disability is still a broad category.
For people who are unable to stand but can speak and type well, pretty much any administrative role or customer service role could work. If your typing or computer use ability is impacted but possible, I'd say a customer service focused role may work - a lot of them require basic information entry or notes to be written, but they can be pretty low expectations.
But if you had a speech issue like aphasia, it would be a totally different set of jobs. Paraplegic vs hemiplegic people are going to have different options and that's just one sub section of disability.

How different the job market is in Canada- most to all the jobs you mentioned here require a BA in computer science plus experience.
Most do in the US as well. He left that part out.

I'm not in any of these fields, so I can't tell you. But you should absolutely apply! Who knows, you might get it!
It would be great if you could add who is hiring for these positions 😊
Hi, I’m sorry if I missed it, but where are these? Indeed? LinkedIn? How does one apply?
A simple Google search should work just fine, but you can probably find these on job boards as well. If you Google search "data analyst job" for example, a "Jobs tab will appear next to "All" at the top. Click that and you will see all jobs available. Be sure to filter if you need to, and always double-check the job posting by going to the company's website to make sure it is a real posting. Scammers post fake jobs all over (Google and job boards won't know the difference), or you just might be unsure because it's a third-party recruiter posting the job for the company.
@@e.m.7286Yes. I Googled the jobs that interested me and they just popped up. Just do a search - it's that easy.
I believe he said it was Glassdoor.
how do I get a remote job for data Analyst or data science and your video on remote job that no one wants to do or knows about talking about data analyst and funeral analyst
Can I be your friend?
You just gave me so much hope. I'm worried about a potential layoff and thought of my two years of exp as a content mod and one of them being in the Trust & safety side of e-commerce as just entry-level and meaningless. These jobs through two different companies and positions. I thought I would have to return to working for the state government and lower wages. I'm taking notes right now! Thank you!!!
ten years of state exp, two years in tech, hr degree. I have felt like a mess without any options but you have opened my eyes!
Can you please explain a little bit about what your job involves?
Shane,
First i want to thank you for all of the content that you have put out.
I've been thinking of going into data analysis, so I'm taking this video as a sign.
To extent will these jobs be replaced by AI
Shane, In this video I liked the job position on Quality Control Analyst. I'd like to hear your opinion similar role of QA game tester. It could get frustrating playing the same level of a game over and over. But the job could be a good way to get your foot in the door for working at video game company. I'd like to hear your take on the pros and cons of that job.
I'd love to hear more about the Data and Safety Agent jobs. Where would someone apply for a job like that?
lots of great info. It all sounds great - I’m gonna check it out. Hopefully there’s no age bias in this type of work.
the problem isn't with the skills or experience these days, the problems with finding a job now is the automated filtering services these companies use as well as online applications. when you have 20,000 people apply for a single job your odds are next to nothing. when you have a computer filtering out applications based on key words or choices from a employment test your chances are equal to 1 in 20,000. may as well play the lottery.
i got a better idea. these companies can hire me to come up with real hiring strategies.
one thing i have noticed about getting a job these days is the circumvention of the application process completely. it's just people in HR hiring people they know. or people in the company referring you, so you have to know someone to get a job and we all know how well that turns out for skilled and dedicated workers for finding positions.
This has been going on for at least 50 years or more. Back in the day for many to get job experience was to go to pay an agency to find them a place to apply. Then if hired, the person had to pay the agency part of the first 3 paychecks. This probably still around for at least the elite jobs.
I'd like to learn about coding. Would you be able to show a breakdown of what that really is and the best resources to achieve a degree in it?
Couldn’t find the Trust and Safety agent jobs for social media
Basically you're a Community Manager.
Can you please provide the links so that I can apply to these jobs That you are sharing with us thank you so much and God bless for all of your help!
@ShaneHummus, I've been an RN for 30 years. I retired early and have discovered that the bills don't pay themselves. I don't want to get back into nursing. Any suggestions or links to jobs that I might be interested in or excel at while still staying at home?
