Have great respect for Ann Widdecombe and any politician with integrity. So few of them. Speaking of under rated I would add Barbara Castle to the list.
Castle wasn't underrated. She was the first major female UK cabinet minister and paved the way for Thatcher. Both women would wipe the floor with today's lot, apart from Ann!
