Merton and Clary started off in the Comedy Store around the same time. They've been friends since before they made it. You can see they really trust each other, because around this period Julian Clary wasnt a happy person. He was suffering from anxiety and panic attacks. So I'm sure Paul Merton was a perfect host for him to talk to.
Never heard of Julian before CBB, but I loved him on that show and was so happy he won. Now I have been trying to see his various clips here on TH-cam and he is very funny.
Banned from tv for what? Being gay? Or being "too gay"? Ban him for his dirty jokes? Ban Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard, Jo Brand, Ricky Gervais, Sean Lock, Jack Whitehall, Russell Brand, Russell Kane, Paul Merton and Alan Carr while you're at it then.
That is surprising* (considering what BB does to most people). But just shows there is hope for us as a race and I'm all the more glad for it. (*Not for Julian, mind. He always did appear to be a really decent man.)
"you see, you get this invitation to a celebrity party......" turns to audience: "well, YOU don't". As if just because you're famous it makes you the most "important" and interesting person on this planet............ Some celebrities are more boring than "regular" people who are not famous. Some of those celebrities are fake and shallow, so what's the point of "mingling" with them???
@DrEllipsis If I remember rightly, Paul or the producers or whoever, let Julian sit in the opposite seat because of his dislike for the left side of his face, which I nominates for Room 101 later in the episode.
He has a very soothing voice. It's a beautiful voice in fact. It's just a shame such crass innuendo pours out of it :-). I love the way he always looks so thoroughly unimpressed and indifferent. His career never recovered from the 'out the back fisting Norman Lemont' debacle. He was 'black balled' from t.v.. Ostracized for years after. He couldn't get work and must have suffered terribly. I would be interested to know how he feels about that now. One remark - albeit rather crass- and he went from prime time television to not being able to get on a panel show. Extraordinary thing to happen !
They have fantastic rapport and they really know how to work off each other. I needed this laugh tonight.

it's great to see them together
mates makin each other laugh :)
julian clary always puts a smile on my face !
Thank you for uploading. Next to Mark Steele & Jo Brand's turns on Room 101, Julian's must be the funniest.
You can tell they are good mates
"I can have a wank in a flower pot if I want"
"I wish I'd bought my camera"
"I wish I'd bought my flower pot"
I LOL'd so so much.
@Menhiria It was clearly a joke. That 'shallow-like arrogance' is his facade that his career is based on.
Omg the chemistry between these two is amazing
2 Greats together ... Julian to win CBB
''Do you wanna hang on while I swallow?'' ! Haha!!
he is the best one of the most funnist comidan in the world haha

I wonder if the guy who seating Jim Davidson and Julian together hated Jim or Julian.

Paul always sits on the left, why is it on the right this episode?

OH MY GOD. I was just watching earlier episodes of this and now it looks backwards. They're sitting the wrong way round!
Triangle..what a fucking bizarre name for a show..lol.
Yeah, It was explained in part 2. I jumped the gun a bit with my comment. Thanks. :)
julian clary is a beautiful man and i am straight woman
julian to win big brother
You know you are in trouble when even Julian looks bored with the show and Mertons crap jokes.
@bannanachops Have you watched part 2 yet?
There's a lolly on the floor
Paul's on the wrong side.
Why is Paul on the right? It is most peculiar

this show has no point.

Wow, Julian was pretty unamused by the whole episode, as well as pretty unamusing.
