Thank you for all the detailed information on your videos, it makes it so much more enjoyable to have an introduction to what one is listening to. Thank you.
What an outstanding channel, thanks a lot for your dedication and all brilliant work of you and your team! Best performances of the contemporary piano literature I have heard so far. ...I would love so much to hear your interpretation of Hosokawa's Etudes one day...
Dear Denis. Many thanks for writing this beautiful comment. I truly appreciate it. Some of Hosokawa's Etudes are on my piano stand. Hopefully soon in my mind and fingers. Let's keep connected
A powerful piece, very powerful, and, as you say, minute 4 (which I loved) is special - and also the sound at 5min 20secs!! The acoustic of the space in which you're playing is perfect for this kind of music. I should love to know where the mics were placed for this one. (And it is so good to find a pianist who listens, deeply, to SOUND and not just how the notes are played...)
Yes...it has some glorious moments. I do agree that the acoustics of the hall are perfect for this. We locate the microphones quite far away from the piano. I like to find a perfect balance between the presence of the piano as it sounds naturally and the atmosphere of the venue...it's kind of tricky, but we just follow our ear; we don't have a method. This time the microphones were placed quite far away...I don't remember why, but it worked prefectly... Many thanks for your words about listening to the sound. Actually it is something I feel very deeply
Resonance techniques never do much for me. Maybe my hearing is not refined enough. We have a composer in Quebec, Gilles Tremblay (student of Messiaen) who sued to compose using this technique a lot.
it's actually a very special kind of music. I love the powerful that it gets at the developement of the piece and how it transforms into something unexpected. I heard about Tremblay, but I never listened to his piano music. I'll check it
Hosokawa is my favourite composer and you performance is so incredible! I love it!
I am very happy that you like it so much...

I have to explain also how to play certain passages. I hope I will make a video one day
