- The Edsel Auctioneer burst out of Leeds in the late Eighties, sporting a fine set of noisy tunes reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr. The Edsel Auctioneer shared a drummer (Chris Cooper) with fellow Leeds group the Pale Saints for the first two singles.
king of the slums, yeah man...awesome weird unique outstanding band.....more more more.........
Great band...never forgotten
thanks for posting! had forgotten about this great, underrated band.
Just watched it again. Fucking brilliant. Reminds me of staying up all night on dodgy mushroom trips, waiting for giro's and watching Transmission. You should upload more stuff, it's your duty. Some Popguns, Pale Saints or King of the Slums. Go on, you know you want to.
I saw them at the Town and Country Club supporting Buffalo Tom and Lemonheads in about 1989. Line up!
When I searched Edsel Auctioneer I didn't expect to find the exact same video that I must have watched a million times 'round at your house. Too cool (but a bit fucking weird). Can't believe it was seventeen years ago. Hope you're doing alright Jay.
Gareth
yeah - amazing! great band, saw them loads of times in Leeds circa 1989-91
It's Pale Saints drummer!!
Lord, this takes me places I'd never thought I'd see again. Is that 'Stickleback' they're playing?
Phil Petler - are you alive? What 'appened to Pale Saints? Long live Cleasby.
Ace clip! And who is that mooking around on bass? Nice one Phil.....
having just read the caption, obviously...
