That’s an incredible tasty lick at 00:27
Nice touch, that’s the kind of rock ‘n’ roll sound I love.

Thanks! 😊 I can't take credit though. It's from the song World Wide by Audio Adrenaline: th-cam.com/video/14gc1SQGokM/w-d-xo.html Tyler Burkhum I believe played the part. He's worked with Matt Kearney and Needtobreathe as well.

The button string tree was last used in 1956 and the location changed in '57 as the string tree became the butterfly...nice build!

I am about to install a string tree and this is a great reference. I like what you did with the tape for a guide, drilling through the headstock is what I am most worried about 😂 I’m also worried that the drill is gonna put a crack in the headstock but I’m probably worrying too much

Hey David. Love your guitar work. 😉 You can do it! Just be diligent & it’ll go great. 👍🏻

Thanks for the video! How do you know how you high to set the string tree?

Glad to help! Are you asking about the string tree placement? If so, I just referenced pictures of old 50s teles and made my best guess.

@@NathanSink Yes, I mean how tight should the screw be? I realized my high E keeps breaking at the string tree on deep bends, so I'm guessing the angle of the string is too sharp against the headstock (which means the tree is probably too low). Just wondering if there's a rule of thumb for adjusting height, or it's all trial and error...

@@mercedesescobarmusic I would think you possibly have a sharp edge or burr on your string tree. You might try taking some sand paper and scuffing up the parts that the string contacts. I’d be willing to bet that’s it. 🙂 But if you wanted, you could try to get a spacer (like the ones used on Strats). You might have to get a longer screw to accommodate the height though. Hope it works out.

Really dig your videos! I've referenced them for a number of guitar projects. My latest is an Esquire build. I'm a bit scared to install the neck but what could go wrong? Oh, wait... ;)

😂 Thanks! That’s part of the reason I make these; so others can learn from my mistakes. 😊

Blackguards started out a very white blonde, but they quickly aged to that butterscotch color. The thing that bothers me with the road worms is that they aren’t transparent enough.

True. The road works aren't quite perfect....but a pretty good value still. 😊

@@NathanSink I actually just sold one. Loved the sound but it was just a bit too heavy. Great guitars though.
