Will you be picking up the Mavic 3 Classic, staying with the air/mini's or the 3/cine? The Classic seems like the sweet spot for me right now.
i think if you have the cine you will not be downgrading
mini 3 pro.... size is still all that matters to me as I am not a pro videographer. Portability and still get excellent consumer-pro output is the need being met.
Hey Keith. So glad I just found your channel, great review. I just picked one up myself, did the first flight yesterday. Love it! I’m coming from the Air2, so I was blown away at the detail and low noise floor in Dlog at 400iso in my first test. Also thanks for talking about unlocking zones. That’s one thing I didn’t think about, needing the internet connection. I’m constantly flying in restricted areas for work. Thanks again!
The zoom lens on the mavic 3 even though it isn’t as good as the main lens does give you some differentiation from the normal wide angle that 99.9% of drone users have. If you make money with your drone get the Mavic 3. You will grow into it.
Great overview and remarks. I especially appreciate the comments on use cases and performance compared to the Mini 3 Pro. The Mavic 3 seems like a very capable performer at its price point and I plan to buy one.
I never thought I'd be considering getting anything from the Mavic line since budget is such a big factor. But now since there's the Classic version with a way achievable price tag, I think I can finally work my way around into getting one
When the M3 classic came out, its a no brainer for me coming from an air2s/Rc Pro combo..was planning on getting the mini3 Pro but that small drone is just on par as my Air2s so the only purpose is just the smaller footprint..all the features of the M3 classic is enough for all my needs and its truly an upgrade!
Very balanced review. Thanks. I'm an AIR 2S flyer but wanted to get a more advanced camera and be able to fly longer, so I got the Mavic 3 Classic. I don't have any use for the Telephoto on the Mavic 3 and find it too expensive. So, I waited patiently and was glad that DJI finally delivered. I'm subbing. Greetings from Montreal, Canada.
Fantastic review sir! My biggest question is if I'm willing to give up the telephoto lens for the amount I'll be saving if I get the Mavic3 Classic. I got a bit enlightened with this video and decided to go for the Classic! Thanks again!
Does the dedicated controller allow us to use another app to fly the drone? Like for example I want to use Copterus to fly this drone which is an iOS on my phone. Could you see and let us know how it works?

Some interesting points Keith. I have not been able to activate focus peaking on the Classic & found it very functional with the Mavic zoom. Have you been successful in activating the focus peaking?

I like the way you talk slowly to be understood very well. Thanks for this. I am trying to choose a middle of thee road charger for both my Mini 3 pro and the Mavic 3. Is there oone you can suggest as I am not familiar with all the aperages and voltages. I am not in a hurry to suoer fast batteries and I do not like fast charging at all. I can wait all evening for batteries as I only charge the night before I will fly so no rush is safer to me. Ray C Florida.

Ahaa, that was the other video I was talking about! 😁 I just sold my A2S and been eyeballing the classic. Right now the weather in UK is muddy so no point of getting it before late spring, but definitely buying it!
I am buying this drone next Thursday but I am thinking I am going to get the original controller NC-1 and then just use a tablet for my feed tracker for a bigger view. Do you have any advice on this?

Very cool video. I'm enjoying my Mini 3 Pro but this is becoming the front runner for an upgrade when it's time for it. An interesting side note you mentioned is your portable charger for charging on the go. Can I ask which one you use? I currently have an 18w 10,000mAh portable power bank. Would something like that suffice for a quick charge?
Would you say the mavic 3 classic will replace an upcoming air 3?

I take it when you made this video the Mavic 3C RC Controller firmware had not been updated to use with the Air 2S as it is now? I wish they would update that RC controller for my Air 2.
I know it's an older post but people forget that if you're on a budget, you can always buy an older apple or android phone and use that as your dedicated controller phone instead of buying the DJI RC. You can use them on WiFi without adding a phone plan. Should cost you about 30 bucks. Who knows, you might even have an extra phone stuffed in a drawer that you've forgotten about.
Would love to see your Cleveland shots, do you have IG? From the area, worked downtown for 10 years. I thought about messing around there with the drone but wasn’t sure if it would be wise with the airport right there
Bought the Fly More Classic system with the RC Controller up front and even before UPS delivering it, I ordered two more batteries. Really like flying drones :)
Thanks for sharing this informative content! I just finished watching the whole video and my one main takeway from this is that the Mavic3Classic would be around and stay relevant for years to come. No point delaying an upgrade cause I think that's where I'm basically headed!
Good vidéo winch microphone you use
It looks like locking in the gimbal seems much more intuitive. I got annoyed at how hard it was to fit my gimble into the protective case every time I was done with my Air 2S.
You mentioned the Fly More accessory... How useful are the extra props? What kind of situation typically requires prop replacement?

I’ve spend half the cost by buying the fly more kit in individual parts. For example, I bought three new batteries on Amazon in like-new condition spending $458 total and i already had the RC controller from the mini 3 which I can use on my Mavic 3 classic

I need to interrupt...haha. Can this drone and its automated flight modes, fly a path(like hyper lapse) and shoot video? For instance, a semicircle in front of a building. Set the points, drone's angle, gamble angle, altitude change and hit 'GO'? I have ideas how I want the shot to look but my skillset always makes a glitch. I love the option of automated shots. Why can when filming in D-Log the ISO beginns at 400? The M3 can film at ISO 100 in D-Log.
I have the mavic 3 and never use the x28 zoom so I would by the classic. But now I already got the mavic 3 I just waiting for the C1 marking
Private pilot here, if you are in the air you will get pushed around, no matter what you are flying. 747's get pushed around the same way. But good informative video. The Classic is on my wish list as soon as I can get the wife on board with it.

Thanks, Mavericks! I made it! I want to start an apparel line called "Single Barrel Apparel". Bought the domains, made some designs and got product samples in over the past few months. I really like trying different bourbons and wanted to make some simple, but bold graphics for some apparel. I've been meaning to work on a Shopify store to start taking preorders! I'm yet to try single barrel new riff though. You may have motivated my weekend bottle purchase (if I can find it, that is!) haha
The authorization shown in the DJI RC RM330 is not LAANC. That's the DJI flysafe system which is DJI's way of locking out the controller from launching the drone without unlocking. That unlock does not go to the FAA LAANC system...that's a separate thing that are not related to each other. Only relying on the DJI unlock while flying in Controlled Airspace not using a LAANC service provider such as Aloft Control Control, B4UFLY, airmap, etc can run the risk of having an illegal flight.
What I did is get a 1 yr unlock license for my area so I don't have to do the DJI unlock...get the verification code via sms text. I only have to do the LAANC request that I use Aloft Aircontrol which is super quick

I've seen some of your older videos and have noticed that I can tell that you are taking more time in your audio and video editing
Also your look (Dress) and hand movement is so much better and makes a BIG difference in growing your audience
I have a few channels and I know how hard it is to get subscribers and not get burnt out (People don't realize how much work goes into to being a create)

Being a newbie flying drones I say the grey colour is a disaster when searching for a droned landed "far away". I'll paint the next one red, white, orange.... to be able to find it. Likely the yesterday lost 50 $ drone went down to the bottom of a lake as it couldn't be found on land.....

Hi Keith, have you heard the latest news? The UK will not follow EASA Regs regarding the C1 Mavic 3 Classic. This Drone will in January 2023 become a legacy drone until 2026. We the hobbyists, have now been totally shafted by the DfT and CAA. I’m in two minds whether to return the unopened Classic or not now 😢
Hey there, I have not heard this. After reading this I watched a few youtube videos about C1 regulations and that looks like a great win for the drone community.. but why are they not considering this for C1 anymore? Can you fly this drone commercially, but not for recreation? Sorry for my naive questions! I'm not that familiar with the UK drone laws (I'm in the USA)
Its called brexit, screwing the UK in so many ways now...but they get what they voted for....chuckles.
DJI RC Controller use in FlySpot (Google Maps) and in FlyApp (Maptiler) different Satellite Map Data.
The resolution is unusable in many regions. Even wide streets are not displayed. In contrast, the map under Flyspot has a high resolution and accesses Google Maps.
i think m3 classic have no sense when is mavic 3 with telephoto camera with sensor bigger than in m2 zoom
So the bird poop on the pier is not exactly artistic, sorry:) How is the camera, variable aperture, shutter speed and ISO all work together? It is not a matter of IF but WHEN I will order my Mavic 3 classic with fly more kit!!
I heard the camera is not quite as good as the Mavic 2 Pro

Me basically I am not interested in this drone for the simple fact that I have the Dji Mavic 3 which has many more better options than this one. I'd love to fly fpv, but havent made the jump into building one yet. Or buying an off the shelf DJI FPV drone yet. I will get my hands on one sooner or later though!
