Easy way to remember is that right is the arm at a right angle and left is the arm stretched pointing left.
In Las Vegas, with the raised hand, only the middle finger would be showing.

Turn signals were introduced in 1939 and have been mandatory in new cars since the 1950's and motorcycles since 1973. Hand signals are still valid and required for drivers of antique vehicles that were made without turn signals.
I know this because I come from the ancient world when turn signals were more or less of a novelty.
If you’ve ever ridden a bicycle (and I mean a bike a 4-year-old could drive….I.e. pedal), you are supposed to learn all three hand signals and use them before riding your bike outside of your own driveway. Technically, a police officer could give a 5-year-old a citation for riding on the wrong side of the road OR failing to use hand signals. They never do, but traffic law allows it.

TURN RIGHT
I knew that one after seeing an episode of Fame decades ago. One teacher was teaching another in the class-room, sitting side by side on chairs, "instructor" to the right, "student" to the left like they were in a car. Then they went to the parking lot to try it in real life - and the car was an English sportscar ... with the steering wheel in the right side. Any moderately intelligent person would be able to adapt in seconds, but to add comic drama to the series it was, of course, a major problem to the old and excentric teacher/"student".
In romania, this means "thank you"

I know my hand signals, and where I used to live there was a guy in a jeep I saw from time to time, looked like military to me, and he used hand signals because his jeep didn't have any signals on it, none that I saw ever activated. I mean, pretty sure it had break lights, but he had to hand signal for the right turn I saw him taking.
Also, the signal in the video is said right hand turn.
