Thanks! It was a great hike. Compared to other hikes we have done, this one was fairly simple. Typically, for views like this, we have had to spend a lot more time and effort to reach our destination. Would be a stunning view in the fall.
West Virginia is awesome, hiked there a few years back. Very green and wet compared to my usual hiking spots here in W TX. Subbed. If you're ever out this way, I have great recs.
Thanks for the Sub. I can only imagine the difference. That is the benefit of hiking the Eastern Mountains, water is readily available. Drawback, can be a little muddy, but not nearly a hot and dry as some parts of the Lone Star state. We would like to hike in every state. So if we are out in Tx, we will have to reach out for those recs. W. TX covers a large area. What is your favorite W Texas hike? Also did you do any other trails while in WV?
West Texas is a broad area. My particular area is the canyon country of the Panhandle. One of my favorite hikes in my region is the Haynes Ridge Trail at Caprock Canyons State Park, but tons of great stuff. I only had a brief visit to WV (Morgantown), and I hiked Cooper's Rock State Forest, the Cheat Lake trails, as well as the Skyrock Trail, where I was chased by a goat.
I checked out some photos of that trail. Looks like an awesome hike. Haven’t been hiking in the Morgantown area yet. Will have to take a weekend and head that way to check them out. Thanks for the recs.
Nice video. Looks like a cool hike with some awesome views. I'm planning a trip to New River for a couple days on my vacation in a couple months. Subbed.
Thanks for your comment. Love hearing from other hikers. This is a very nice area. Easy hike. We also suggest adding in the Long Point trail, on the other side of the river. We did both in the same day. Not as many majestic views along the trail, but the payoff is at the end with a phenomenal view of the bridge. I have a video on that as well. I hope your vacation goes well. Let us know how it goes and what you think of these trails.
Nice video I would love to do that hike, I’ve been river rafting a couple times on the New River a had a blast. So glad this area was made a National Park. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks. I bet the rafting was awesome! Yes this area deserved the upgrade from National River to National Park. Another video, of another trail in this area, hopefully coming out this coming weekend. If you haven’t already, please subscribe so you don’t miss it.
Great trail eh? Nicely done!
