The K2 Catapult was the first mech I ever purchased in MWO all the way back when the game was young. I think it was 2x uac5 + 4 mlasers for the longest times
I kinda think of the K2 variant like the typical/classic sniper class in other fps games. Where you stand farther away and pick at things with high direct damage and move occasionally.
If you wanna run the CPLT-K2 you run a pair of AC20's (or 2ERLLas + 2LGR if you eat at weenie hut jr). Forget the arms as they're just bullet sponges and not worth the single energy hardpoints. If you want a splat mech the CPLT-A1 sports 6-SRM6 and jumpjets. For midrange pretty much all the variants can run 2-MRM40's and JJ's to poptart. I run a 280 or 300 engines on these and speed tweaked they go between 75 and 81 KPH, perfectly suitable for a 65 tonner.
Your team mates in that first one were horrible. They kept jumping into your stream of fire, and blocking targets. Good job not killing them in spite of themselves.
I think this build would fit better if you used regular autocannons and alternated which side fires, so you arent trying to lead two converging lines of fire on a mech you have to aim ahead of, the bullets converge on the ground instead of the distance the enemy mech is away which leads to only one gun hitting, unless its a brawling situation
