I was born in Durham, NC in 1948 of southern ancestry but I grew up in Philadelphia ....and I don't know why this "song" so haunts me and compels me to play it ...but I refer to it as "soul" ancestry from a previous life .....sorry if I offended anyone ...but this "song" makes me :) on the "inside"!

Ms. Macrae, I was searching for a vast array of performances of this song, it was my father's favorite, and I found yours. Strange coincidence - I was recently in England, studying history at Oxford, and on my last night in London, I stood outside this church. Hm. You did a beautiful rendition of this song.
