When I think that Halep was about to win and Kerber just produced her best and when it was Kerber's time Halep did the same. They played amazingly. Congratulations Simona Halep.

Oh wow, 15 minutes! That’s brilliant. Certainly deserved it. Such a high quality match, watched it from the beginning, two fighters, lots of great points. Probably gonna be the match of the year. And the third set, just wow!! Congrats Simo! And all credits to Angie too.
Year End World Number 1 VS Year End World Number 2. French Open Champion VS Wimbledon Champion. The best counterpunchers. The best movers. The best players right now. Match of the year, 2018
This is their first time getting it right this whole tournament. The other day I watched a “highlight” of a match and it was 3 mins long and only showed match point and then the players walking towards their towels and then Leaving...
15 minutes of highlights. Now this is a video. Let's hope Wimbledon and RG follow the example. And I'm so proud of Halep, both played so well, it's probably my favorite match of the AO so far.
I loved watching Angie in this tournament, and really thought, before the match, that she would be in the finals. I'm gutted that she missed those two match points. Heartbreaking.
MATCH OF THE YEAR. Unbelievable from both players. I love Halep's new aggression on her groundstrokes. An unreal defensive player who has worked incredibly hard to become number one in the world. I hope she brings home the title on Saturday!
@@magnetmac1 and wta was wrong. Sloane vs Halep lacked the intensity factor of this match. And WTA can only rank matches that’s in its boundaries, meaning that it can’t say this match is the best match of 2018 when they don’t have rights to show it. The ranked match was WTA matches only

One of the best matches ever played by Simo. Great quality of tennis. Hats off! Simo was the story of this AO even though she didn't win the god damn tournament. She'll be back.! 👊
Thank you AO for posting this! This are some really great highlights. Was worthed staying up last night till 3 AM watching this 2 amazing players. That 26 rally shots in the 3rd set, incredible. Congrats Simona for reaching your first AO Final. You are an inspiring player. Never give up. Also credit to Kerber for putting a fighting spirit as well. Hopefully on saturday you will be able to lift up your first GS trophy.
8:59Surely the best tennis rally (both in women's and men's tennis) I've ever witnessed, given the hot conditions of play, too. No words to describe, hence the standing ovations from the fans on this point!
Too evenly talented players always produce an entertain tennis match, but if one is better and dominant then it wouldn't be so entertaining. I can give you a name of a female dominant tennis player but I'm sure you already know.
You know I thought Lauren Davis - Halep was going to be the outright MOTT. Then Su-Wei and Kerber played like they did. Then Djokovic and Chung played the match they did. And now this. I want to take a moment to celebrate 2018 versions of Kerber and Halep (Halep really from 2017), players about whom someone aptly remarked "We don't deserve." Great Tournament. I'm ecstatic about tennis this year!
Except only 3 sets versus 5, yet they petitioned and won that they deserve the same prize money. Forget being politically correct, they don't deserve as much as the men doing a little more than half the work.
What a match, never seem before like this. Absolutely splendid and fantastic. Both played probably BEST TENNIS anyone can play. Nothing better they can show.
Was an incredible match where Halep showed that she is in a extraordinarily form and she is in another level in this year we are proud of you but all my respect for Kerber also !!! Thanks for the highlights
Best highlight ever! Thank you for this. Now you will have more views and subscribers. P.s. this match was epic. Hope this was the final but it wasnt. Happy for Halep but sad for Kerber.
Yes sadly there can only be one victor. Kerber fought hard. Good to see Halep become stronger mentally. She didn't cave in and never gave up. Well done to both of them,
As a massive Kerber fan i have to say Halep played out of this world! Probably one of her best matches hitting 50 winners! It will be interesting to see if she will still have the stamina in the final against Wozniacki because there's no doubt that this match exhausted her immensely!!! But def Team Halep now for the final!!!
Grande Simo! She wasted two matchpoints, then she saved two. Angie had a terrible start, then she played like she used to do in her glory days. What a crazy match... In the end, Simo was too good.
In my opinion Roland Garros is the worst with highlights, you don't understand anything from their highlights, for this kind of match and fight it should be an extended highlights.
Best match of 2018! Two of the best players this year and best movers/shot makers - I was so exhausted watching so many of these epic points. Halep had 2 consecutive match points and then Kerber had them. Great fight, comebacks and resolve.
TL;DR One of the best matches of the decade somehow probably won't come out on top in the best 2018 matches considering how strong a year it has been for WTA, but both players had match points at different points of the third set, and that is incredible. Reminiscent of the great Federer Safin 2005 AO semis match. This goes down in history.
Halep should've already won a GS title or two, by now. But, during crucial moments in matches that one would've expected her to win, she's been too passive and shown a lack of mental toughness. Her 2017 French Open final against Jelena Ostapenko, is a prime example. But, much to Halep's credit, this win over Kerber has given her another shot at becoming GS Champion. And, hopefully, she will seize this opportunity. But, I also like Caroline Wozniaki. It is going to be the 1st for either woman. And I will be happy for whoever wins.
Luis Guevara Yes, my bad! It happens, especially when you're half asleep like I was. And I edited the comments to correct two blunders that I noticed I made, but still missed out on that one. Lol. But, thanks for the correction.
The best match Ive ever seen. Both players never gave up till the balls boubced two times every single points. I heard Simo was dehydrated and kept in hospital for two hours after this match
You can see why halep is number 1. She has so much conditioning and power in her shots. She plays so aggressive but can still keep her consistency. Down 2 match points and that come back was next level. Good job.
Sometimes a match like this makes women's tennis more entertaining than the men's. It's not all about the power and the serve. It's the variety, shot selection, athleticism, and guile.
women's tennis is not always the most exciting to watch, but this match was match of the aus open, none of the other womens or mens matches compared imo :)
Arguably the greatest match of all time. Rarely you see people pushed to the limit so hard. Kerber nearly collapsed due to sheer exhaustion several times to the end of the match. The fighting spirit was real.
At least there was an embrace at the net, I see far too often after a long match between two women, there is barely any eye contact, let alone a handshake. Good to see from these two champions!
