Depends your age maybe a EIA or an IUl

Solutions: #1 get an IUL. #2 get a Fixed Index Annuity. Or #3 do what Tony said and invest in an index fund.

Why does my gut feeling tell me this guy is a con artist?

BandB1111111 Because helping people to live better lives and sacrificing their finite time to help improve your pathetic existence is the exact defenition of a con artist.

Because, in the strictest sense, he *is* a con artist. Con is short for confidence. But in a the common sense of the term, I wouldn't call him a con artist, but a sales person. Great lessons can be learned even from sales people, just as there is sound advice in Robert Kiyosaki's books, but that doesn't change the fact that his #1 goal is to sell you his brand and his products, which may be excessive and not in your best interest. It's always something to be aware of, and your gut is warning you of this. Good on you for acknowledging your instincts!
