If Negan was killed it would’ve showed the saviors that they aren’t apart of a new world of mercy and humanity over survival of the fittest but the old world under a different leader. If Rick killed Negan it would show the saviors that Rick was no better than Negan they were only conquered instead of set free.
Love him or hate him; or some kind of shit in-between, JDM plays Negan with an intensity and drive that TWD needed. Even if his dialogue isn't always great, *he* is always great. I have mixed feelings about season 8, but it was never about the acting.
The acting was always good, the problems in season 8 was mainly editing, directing and the writing. There was really good scenes in all the episodes but there was an equal amount of bad ones.Season 8 by far was the weakest season in the show, a very mixed bag. Season 7 was actually better, even if people complained about the bottle episodes. The bottle episodes work when you binge watch it, so they never bothered me.

Apart from the scene with Maggie and Jesus and Daryl plotting for vengeance, this episode feels like it could be a series finale. I love the show and am glad it is continuing until the comics ending, but this really felt like a series finale with the whole idea of hope for a future and mercy over wrath. I loved it
Fun Fact: Danai Gurira (Michonne) was really choking the shit outta Jeffrey Dean Morgan in that scene and it scared the shit outta Jeffrey when she did it lmfao...

That’s so true! I never thought of that… I assumed Eugene was just playing his role in front of Negan but that actually makes total sense…if Negan had tried to shoot at Gabe as he ran away then he would’ve learned about the compromised bullets too soon and ruined Eugenes epic plan :D

But then he refused to be rescued and even explained to Sasha how he had "gotten on board" because he was safe and wouldn't ever have to be as scared as he was when Glen and Abe were killed ever again. I believed he had gone to Negan's side. And when he caught Gabriel I was furious with him and was basically hoping he would die lol. Then I saw the guns and even though it took me a minute to put it together I realized that Eugene saved our people. I do think, though, that he was team Negan for a while until he couldn't love with himself or sleep anymore because of it. 😊
Yeah I figured because he was such a selfish coward he was playing a long game, waiting for the right moment where a plan could be formulated without any kind of significant chance of failure.

At this point I would like to say that I think our bulletmaker has been playing with Neagan the whole time and that since he took the courage in season 7 to admit that he made the bullet for Rosita. Eugene is a brilliant mind and he has lived a long-term lie very convincingly. I think Eugene was rethinking his life the moment Rosita described him as absolutely useless and that he owed it to Abraham to build a bullet. Of course, he couldn't have known then that Neagan would take him along, but that was a first step. The next step was to ensure his own survival, no matter what the cost, no matter what the price. Even if he messes with his people. And to go through with this until there is a safe opportunity for him to strike. He's an actor, he's a genius. He just needed the opportunity that suited him. Regardless of everyone else, but with an eye on the bigger picture.
That ending scene with Rick writing to Carl and the flashback made me so emotional and I loved it but I stand firm in my opinion that scott gimple made the wrong decision killing off Carl. There couldn't have been ANY other event to prompt Rick to have mercy?
I'm with Maggie. The justice Rick took from her isn't right. So many people died in the war to then let Negan live. Such a load of crap. Just start your new world after he's dead.
Hello from France I'm happy about Negan survived and I'm so pround of Eugene. I was not mistaken. I felt that he still have a conscience. But from my point of view this episode is maybe the worst of the season ! I wondered if Scott Gimble is just crazy or just dumb ? There are so many things illogical and incoherent : - Negan sacrifices one part of his men while we know that he cares about his people. "People are ressource" how many time he say it ? Negan isn't like Simon. - At the begining everyone want kill the other group and after a litlle speech of Rick everyone is friends and live in peace. - Morgan, 2 episodes ago and even at the begining of the battle he was a deprave psycopath and schizophrenic. A mentaly ill. Now he's happy, calm, in peace with himself just because a Jesus sentence. - Jesus, this guy is a pacifist, he doesn't want kill anyone (he's like Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw Ridge) and now with a sly smile and look he plots with Maggie and Daryl about murder Negan. - What it's this church windows in the tree ? - Oceanside girls how they made petrol bomb ? 8 episodes just for that ! Aaron is there since episode 8. This girls say no so many time but in the end they coming for the last episode. It was so predictable. All the season Oceanside get any interest. - The Negan vs Dwight duel lasted 3 seconds and the one Rick vs Negan is disappointed. So i think it's a end of season and of war very botched.

But for me the plot is kinda just like a repeating pattern that made it the worst season they dont even get the physics right anymore the guns fire with no recoil (most). Season 4 was the best for me since it focuses on Sickness,The Governor,other groups and seperated groups which is entertaining to watch. Followed by season 3 The Governor arc are best in the show. Season 2 i agree with you was slow but it is an important season for character development

Hey DUO, you finished the season, im really going to look forward to the live stream..this was alright, not my favourite finale. I guess for me it seemed sort of thrown together at the last minute? The so called fight scene wasn't a fight at all in my opinion but some people loved it.

At this point I would like to say that I think our bulletmaker has been playing with Neagan the whole time and that since he took the courage in season 7 to admit that he made the bullet for Rosita. Eugene is a brilliant mind and he has lived a long-term lie very convincingly. I think Eugene was rethinking his life the moment Rosita described him as absolutely useless and that he owed it to Abraham to build a bullet. Of course, he couldn't have known then that Neagan would take him along, but that was a first step. The next step was to ensure his own survival, no matter what the cost, no matter what the price. Even if he messes with his people. And to go through with this until there is a safe opportunity for him to strike. He's an actor, he's a genius. He just needed the opportunity that suited him. Regardless of everyone else, but with an eye on the bigger picture.

That ending scene with Rick writing to Carl and the flashback made me so emotional and I loved it but I stand firm in my opinion that scott gimple made the wrong decision killing off Carl. There couldn't have been ANY other event to prompt Rick to have mercy?

I'm with Maggie. The justice Rick took from her isn't right. So many people died in the war to then let Negan live. Such a load of crap. Just start your new world after he's dead.

I'm happy about Negan survived and I'm so pround of Eugene. I was not mistaken. I felt that he still have a conscience. But from my point of view this episode is maybe the worst of the season ! I wondered if Scott Gimble is just crazy or just dumb ? There are so many things illogical and incoherent :
- Negan sacrifices one part of his men while we know that he cares about his people. "People are ressource" how many time he say it ? Negan isn't like Simon.
- At the begining everyone want kill the other group and after a litlle speech of Rick everyone is friends and live in peace.
- Morgan, 2 episodes ago and even at the begining of the battle he was a deprave psycopath and schizophrenic. A mentaly ill. Now he's happy, calm, in peace with himself just because a Jesus sentence.
- Jesus, this guy is a pacifist, he doesn't want kill anyone (he's like Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw Ridge) and now with a sly smile and look he plots with Maggie and Daryl about murder Negan.
- What it's this church windows in the tree ?
- Oceanside girls how they made petrol bomb ? 8 episodes just for that ! Aaron is there since episode 8. This girls say no so many time but in the end they coming for the last episode. It was so predictable. All the season Oceanside get any interest.
- The Negan vs Dwight duel lasted 3 seconds and the one Rick vs Negan is disappointed.
So i think it's a end of season and of war very botched.

@@TheRManProds The Acting is really good specially for Rick and Negan. But for me the plot is kinda just like a repeating pattern that made it the worst season they dont even get the physics right anymore the guns fire with no recoil (most). Season 4 was the best for me since it focuses on Sickness,The Governor,other groups and seperated groups which is entertaining to watch. Followed by season 3 The Governor arc are best in the show. Season 2 i agree with you was slow but it is an important season for character development
