Just blame those gravel tyres. That's like 20W right there! Seriously though man good for you, 1. for doing it and 2. for uploading it. That attitude will only get you fitter. You can tell you've never done an ice bath before with how fearlessly you got in that hahaha
Benji, everyone is at a different place in their fitness and everyone has the same feelings you did about someone else in their life. The important thing is you’re out there pushing yourself to get better-keep it up sir!
Congratulations on being invited. Netflix would be smart to bring you on for some voice-over work for the next season or for some cameo/analysis. As for the ride, I think that you definitely won the neutral roll-out!
You are such a huge inspiration! You are one of the reasons I "dared" to buy a roadbike along with my MTB since everyone else around me are 60kg people that thinks everything under 75K is a joyride. I'm 43 and prolly weigh 15kg too much but watching you push yourself IRL and in Zwift have been a big motivation :) Congrats on a cool experience!
Video ending on two Frikandellen and a pack of fries you can't get more Belgian than that lmao. Congrats on your journey Benji, all your IRL cycling vids are really inspiring and it's quality content.
Nice Benji, been enjoying your get fit with cycling series and enjoyed this video. Hoping to see more of this content as it’s very relatable to a lot of cyclists.
It’s all because of the gravel tires Benji! Climbed the Mont Netflix to, just not from Malmedy but inside a 123km tour with just a little more climbing (just shy of 2000hm) the weekend after. I just wish I had an icebath to recover and not a train ride home
Congratulations and seeing you persevere even when you were last was deadset inspirational mate. I just got back on the bike after 4 months off it but if you can keep going so can I. Thanks for making this video.
Keep at it !!! Your doing great. We all have our challenges and it is really important to show how other can get into such a great sport that helps with both fitness and mental health. There no bad days on the bike as long as you are smiling .
Hey Benji, as quite an unfit person trying to get better at endurance sports myself, you are an inspiration man! Let me know if you are looking for ride mates in Surrey!
Bravo Sir!! .. and love your videos. ps I want a Remco t-shirt .. my favorite cyclist I think?! He was such a badass as a junior .. and now, 21 days too
Great Job! There are plenty beautiful paths running through the woods, heath and moors up there, I think those gravel tires are a great choice. It's just a shame that you had to take the main road.
Well done. Remember: comparison is the thief of joy (to some extend). There will always be someone fitter, faster, better... but u did it, enjoyed it, had fun. So, a W for you. If I with 90+ kg would compare myself to all these hip, young, fit individuals on roadbikes, well, i would be depressed i guess ;D But, i dont. I have fun, and step by step getting fitter and faster along the way. And so should everyone.
I am sort of glad I rode up there alone. In a group I probaby would have finished last, Strava confirms this. The final part of the climb does feel long. Also I felt some underlying terror because I thought the final Netflix-built ascend would be much steeper 😊 Thanks for the video, if someone asks me about the experience, I finally can show them some good images 😅 Envious of the jersey!!
Just remember Benji. You are actually participating. A lot of people would physically not be able to do that. Can’t change what happened yesterday, but you have already improved massively and if you keep pushing it will only get better. So cool that you are able to do these challenges, as a big guy, trying to improve health wise myself, I know how humbling it can be
Enjoy the mile/kilometer you’re in benji! Getting in better cycling shape is a fun game to play but it’s about having fun with it and just being in the moment. Great job!!
As someone who competes in youth Athlethic competitions but isn't very good,i have one thing to say The last one always gets the most amount of applause 🎉🎉🎉
Also went up on it at the last day you could but did it from Eupen (the Chemin de la Soor climb) much nicer just like the side with the Lac de la Gileppe. The side from Malemedy is only the third best side to do the Baraque Michel.
you got to meat, Oliver, danish legend, who has biked all the way from denmark, to Sahara, and then Simon (nomi) dont even know why he is involved with this but hes also dope
Where are the ladies. AVV coming out retirement to pace on the climb would have been epic. Better yet, the entire CERATIZIT team coming out of nowhere forming a protective bubble.
Hey Benji, Nice figthing, good job! Have you ever been checked for exercise induced asthma? Alot for people dont think about it being a possibility and just think they are in bad shape! just a thought! I have it myself :)
Appreciate the comment, because I'm pretty sure I have something alike. Whenever I ride I start coughing throughout the ride, and have post-nasal drip the entire ride.
@@BenjiNaesenTV try a salbutamol inhaler. They are dirt cheap and can order online without a prescription (at least in the UK). Just don't put it in a jiffy bag
@@huseyinarisoy7824 When he averages 20 minutes of training per day this year, can you call that trying? If he had put some solid hours in, he might have been able to actually progress quite a lot. Great job mate!

Yes, 20W is my estimation also.

@@apolloniusbeitsman5444 true, but the bar is super low :D
I think only a Tripel was missing :)
What is the word that he says? "some good old" what? Googling best result is 'frituur'. Is that it?
Cheers Benji!. You are correct, comparison is the thief of joy. Even in the TDF, someone finishes last. Take care.
Last place finisher still has the honour of finishing!
Inspirational mate. This is just the beginning 💪🏼
Its encouraging to see how seriously you take your training and to see your evolution. From zero to hero! Lets keep peddling

Just recorded a week of cycling in Andorra, should be up in the next few weeks. :)
"No idea why we're clapping" had me rolling on the floor for some reason 😂
Amazing! Great to see your journey! Keep going, you are a great inspiration to many
Your videos are what cycling is all about. Keep them coming
Great job mate! Such an inspo!
I’m envious you even got this opportunity irrespective of your ability to complete it!
Great job Benji! I absolutely love the whole East Cantons and High Fens region. Stunning to ride in 👏
Great work as always, and don’t beat yourself up. Look at were you’ve come from 👏🏻👏🏻
That ice bath was definitely a highlight 😂 Congrats for the amazing work!!

Good job Benji. Hopefully someone made a Strava segment of that extra scaffolding climb so you're in a small club of people that will ever ride it 😅
awesome! appreciate your effort to get in the breakaway - most combative! 🏅
This was lovely to watch Benji! Crazy to think we went from PCM to real life cycling
Your are amazing! Keep the good work up.

Great work Benji, your videos always make my day ❤️

Goed gereden, Benji. Hier mag je trots op zijn!
How cool was that! Nice!
good job man! great video.
Well done Benji🎉
Everyone I know that rides a pushy in AUS knows and loves Benji. He's Hamish to LRs Andy
Super cool experience
The next challenge should be seeing a speech therapist. Light hearted roast mate. On a serious note it would lead to more podcast listeners.
Benji is no Pannekoeken !
Cool you got invited by Netflix!
I see that Oliver "Bruhliver" also was there. He cycled from Denmark to the Sahara desert.
Yeah, really nice guy.
Well done Benji!!!
It's alright. You'll beat them in the bunch sprint!

Benji bus = Broom wagon
Legend!
Damn are they upping there prices afain😂😂😂
Good job! Change the tyres :)
Benji is going to die from a heart attack if he keeps this going. But goddamn, impressive.
Fit a 46/30 chainrings and 40t cassette and you cn climb Mt. Everest
I cannot believe you put your computer mount to the right of the stem Benji!
There’s an edited out camera mount where the bike computer usually goes so no choice.
@@BenjiNaesenTV ah, makes sense, thanks!

Maybe road tyres next time? Your knobby gravel tyres probably cost you ~20W.
Ironically broke my 1 hour power record on the Mont Netflix ride, so with regular tyres I might've gotten a bit closer to the rest.
Blame the sponsor's skinsuite. Definitely not aero and cost you some seconds
Great video! Is it just for me or is parts of the video doubling/out of focus?
"breaking my heart... and our friendship" lmao!
and so forf
694 is not a mountain. Good thing you don't live in let's say Nepal.
Wait ! You don't live in Belgium anymore.

He is training. People are at different stages of their training and may have different speeds, but we all try.
