You know something? I literally only discovered this very talented musician yesterday whilst listening to Guy Garveys Six Music show. He was playing her recent beautiful collaboration with Sampha. I then started clicking back on some of her back catalogue and stumbled upon this little beauty. I was amazed to discover this ones a decade old. How the hell have I missed this massively underrated artist?? Ok: I guess I have just answered my own question...😊
Guy Garvey on BBC 6Music brought me here. Laura was talking about her love for Talk Talk's Spirit of Eden album after Mark Hollis's unexpected death last week. Laura's voice is just beautiful.
Laura Groves just transports you to a different world . this is amazing . I wish she did more of these with the full band not just her on the piano. very underrated musician .wish she would come to the us for some concerts
So in love, this video version is steps better than the album one I can find and buy on Bandcamp (too much synths and effects and somehow a little slower, too aery) I'd buy this if I could. also , weird off beat foot tapping by the guys here.
This track is like the auditory equivalent of a long hug. Would love to have seen: Freedom of the floor, Friday, and Dream Story added to this performance. Her voice reminds me of Olivia Newton-John, Debbie Gibson, Kate Bush, and Grimes.
To me Laura Groves stirs very nostalgic sounds from the 80s like signer songwriter Debbie Gibson or some of Madonna's slower 90s ballads. A great band to see live, really hope to see them again and yearn for new material. The song "Decades", almost appeared out of nowhere in 2020 and is a great calbo with Sam from Future Islands, check it > th-cam.com/video/aVV_iOTo9sc/w-d-xo.html
If this girl was around in the 70's I doubt not she'd have had big success. Unfortunately she is in the era of the Nicki Minaj's of this world. Makes me sad :(

agreed, she needs a band
Truth do you speak
fav version of this song, i was on the losing side i was always trying to hide any pale shadows.
i love this womans magic vocals and the laid back chilled backing
The production is lush, smooth , warm, cosy and perfect. That´s the problem.
Laura, your voice, is phenominal.
EXTREMELY talented woman !
Amazing sound. It´s like Fleetwood Mac in their best years, back in the 1970´s.
Yeah, but without the coke, drama & Lindsey Buckingham. I love it.
How is this beautiful lady and her music has so low views and likes I don't understand this is music that I always dream on listening to 😔
Beautiful song. As good as any fleetwood mac song. This deserves way more attention.
Felt that Fleetwood Mac connection. Wondering who would mention it
Fleetwood Mac if Stevie took the day off and Olivia Newton John stepped in to help out.
Sophisticated beautiful music and voices.
what the beautiful place
Could listen to this all day...
So in love,

Exactly, where's the definitive album of her songs with this band? Needs to happen at some point in her career. Would be a shame if it didn't. 😔
This is stunningly amazing !
Gorgeous Laura, and your home is a dream to a New Yorker like me….
This is a studio in London not her home
Quite pleasant. Like the Strat sound.
she's so beautiful
I came here to watch that bass drum trigger pad wobble...Nah I'm joking I've adored Laura Groves since Blue Roses, wish she had more exposure
soooooo in love with her style!
Can only echo Eleanor, this is indeed stunningly amazing.
I love Laura, your music is a fantasy for my heart. Kisses from Perú
Such a great version

Thanks for the link and for mentioning Debbie Gibson. That and Olivia Newton-John is a good way to describe her voice to me.
@@nija1976 good point didn’t think of her.
Very similar to Fleetwood Mac's - Dreams
lovely lady on keys :)
can't fault this.....
at last.
Hmm ,
Powdery Glitter Splashes Yep Yep (!!!)
mmmmm
I use her melodies for my beats

This is a weird video. The players look really awkward and aren't in sync with the music at times. Laura is great though.
I don't hear that.
@@bingbongcentralhq Different account. I meant the footage isn't perfectly in sync with the music at times. The music is bob on.
