Thank you for these- I remember watching some of them when I was in my early teens and largely having no idea what they were talking about until Paul Merton said something blissfully irrelevant!
Which bit was homophobic? If you mean the bit about Richard Gere, they obviously didn't think he actually stuck gerbils up his bum. They were commenting on the actions of journalists taking things out of context for a sensationalist story.
You're not wrong, that was a comedy standard at the time. It doesn't come from Ian much and Angus is reading a script but Merton did a lot of homophobic material up until very recently.
Ps thanks for the upload. I don't care what era I watch, this show is always excellent.
I love Tony Hawks.
So bizarre hearing Jimmy Saville being referred to as vagurley normal. Was he ever? 😁
16:04 I think Jimmy Saville doesn't do it that much... Well...
He wasn't invited to do it very often. Didn't stop him though...
And then Tony makes the reference to offering medals to people in exchange. Those medals were given to children on his show.
But Angus said (reading off a script) dryly, "Jimmy Saville is perfectly normal." Is that one of those "everybody knew" about Saville?
It's incredible how much was apparently widely known almost 30 years ago and yet nobody was prepared to put a stop to it.
@@edwardlees4585I don't think it was widely known
People thought he was weird but harmless

Inverness and Margate are both coastal so there is another way the penguins could travel.
Its been fun watching Paul go from Whose Line to this show with his salty sense of humour. Made following him so much easier
'while we foul the doorstep of round two' 😂😂😂
17:46 Odd joke here, but just a joke I think
Right On Time for my 11's. actually at 11 today. thanks large
Hello RIXRAD
Imagine my surprise at finding you here :-)
This was homophobic, couldn't say any of this nowadays

@@LoneKharnivore In that case I'm surprised he's still on HIGNFY. People do dredge this stuff up
