Anyone else really missing 2011 right now? I was always a bit of a pessimist, but 2020 was just like "Oh, I'll show you what misery looks like!" Listening to this takes me back. I was a year out of high school, still high on freedom and youth, and playing CoE on a beautiful summer day. Life was good. Hopefully Mizuguchi's next synaesthesia game will make me feel something again, because I can't remember the last time I was genuinely happy.
@@infamoose1511 I did ask Enhance (Mizuguchi's current company) about a CoE remaster, and they said that CoE belongs to Ubisoft, so it's up to them if Eden gets to make a comeback. Doesn't seem likely to me, since CoE wasn't a super successful sales juggernaut.
@@MegamanXfan21xx That’s really unfortunate because literally all of Mizuguchi’s games from Lumines, Rez Infinite, and Tetris Effect are some of my favorite games and are even my comfort games so CoE would’ve been an amazing time but I can definitely see why they probably won’t 🥲
This is one of my favorite games. I love how everything ties to the beat of the music without getting stupid. I also like how when you really get into the game, the music seems to tell you what to do. Everything has a sound and what action would sound the best at that point in the song is usually the right thing to do.
Child Of Eden is a good game if you can go with the flow as the saying goes, always listening to the way the music plays, and when to make special moves and normal moves. Though when you first play it is hard.
Kinect was made for Child of Eden, no question. One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Now, just waiting for Ubisoft to get their heads out of their asses and re-release this for VR!
I did not play it on Kinect. When Child of Eden gets remastered, I want them to add a "Explorer Game Mode" where you can explore purified Archives freely, and the more higher score you get, the more you can explore.
I am still hoping for Mizuguchi to have plans of a possible one more REZ succesor or prequel. Seriously, this game is an example of how the world is beautiful. I wish one more example of this masterpiece!
There was Rez Infinite, which not only remastered Rez, but added a gorgeous new level called Area X, which could be seen as a proof of concept for a new game. Plus, the message the end of X's credits say something like "Enjoy life until the journey can begin again."
You'll be surprised its actually quite difficult at first and you may fail to complete a level or even fully figure out how to play, but once you get the hang of the gameplay mechanics it becomes the trippiest audio/visual experience you've ever had
It's not really a rhythm game... More like an arcade shooter (and anyone can learn it- though I got stuck at the end of world 5 and haven't played it since) (the game didn't belong to me, so I had to give it back)
So it has a steep learning curve but once you learn how to play it, anyone can do it? I saw it in a store for $16, so I'll pick it up. Even if I suck and will never complete it, at least I'll have wasted only 16 bucks. Thanks both of you!
trust me its not a waste especially for $16. I ordered mine also for around $15-$16 cant remember, but you def wont regret having it in ur ps3 library. The soundtrack itself was a selling point to me, but with shooting combined its an amazing experience
Yeah. Unfortunately, Tetsuya Mizuguchi quit video games after CoE and became a professor at some media design school, but apparently he'll still offer advice to Q Entertainment and make games on the side.
fortunately he is still on the track of understanding synesthesia through audiovisual games, rn he is part of a team that developed a ps4 game called tetris effect. idk when exactly it'll come out though...
@Quakeman224 It's an in-game thing. They're in the game files but split up into dozens of little different sound effects that I could never get to fit with the song quite right.
@Maiku09 Tempting, but I'll wait until my sister ends her "The Xbox stays in my room" rule. Granted, I have the same rule for my PS3, but at least I entirely paid for it (and for half of the 360). How many microsoft points is it?
Ah, such a shame. It's simply not the same without the vocals. Replaying the level whenever you want to hear it is quite the hassle. Still sounds awesome, but alas!
@kazemaru0 The Wii simply doesn't have powerful enough hardware to render the amazing 720p graphics of this game, and I think that half of the appeal of this game is the visuals. (The other half, of course, is the music. ^_^) Why the Wii can't run Rez, though, is inexcusable... Good thing I still have my PS2 copy. And I might even buy a Dreamcast to play the original.
James Vega I Don't understand how you can assert that though. In REZ each song was made by a different artist and was fundamentally different in tone, atmosphere and composition. In CoE it's similar remixes of Genki Rockets, except for 'Journey' it's good music but REZ has much more variety.
I Still Play This Game To This Day, Its One Of My Favourites!
Same!
I love the last tunnel section and how it gradually speeds up. Really gets your adrenaline flowing!

This game needs a remake or remaster because I seriously want to try this game out

@@infamoose1511 I Completely Agree Maybe Someone Should Try To Buy The Right To The Game It Would Be Epic!
@@SFerret146 I actually got to try this game out thanks to Xbox still having it on their store! Happy to say this game did NOT disappoint.
The only game that pierced my heart so deeply that it made me purchase the genki rockets album back then
I remeber when I saw Mizaguchi was playing when it was announced. I shat my pants and cried in tears of joy for a REZ succesor.

Thank you, and should I be worried?
mechredd naaaaaah
I love how Mizuguchi nailed it both times he tried; with Rez and this.

I agree. I only managed to pass the first 2 stages on my 2nd try.

Worked pretty well on the controller too, though
this is therapeutic for me.

How about Tetris for vr lol
Rez and Child of Eden are all about the beauty of virtual viruses

Well you're trying to purify them, soo...
oh man i played child of eden for the first time yesterday and this is got me bumping ever since! !!!
How hard is it? I really, really suck at rhythm games but the music is so cool that I'm tempted to give it a try. Can even a complete noob play it?

Dubstep wishes it sounded this good.
the techno i've been finding sounds nothing like this :s
I like this!!!!
I wish child of eden was ported to steam 😞
Same. Hope we can finally get a remaster on PS4 & PS5 someday...
omg... thank you for this upload :D

5:37 most stressful sound ever. Seriously though, my heart is beating faster O.O
Where it not for the Speedway, I'd be able to clear this archive without losing any health.
If you had any idea how much I agree.
My favourite part is 5:15 to 8:17
I LOVE THIS SONG !!!
5:15
8:17
This song heavily samples "Fly!" by Genki Rockets.
@outphase52 Thank you so much for this and the rest!
Who downloaded this game because it was free on xbox?
MackMcDeven97 me but i unistall the game today
I did, and liked it.

Musical perfection.
beginning at 5:23 - for me best part of soundtrack, but LowFreqs are missing.Drive is good.
Love the soundttack battling the Nexus. (Boss).
i love the tunnel part where it starts slow and go this is too easy then it gets like fast and you go FUUUUUUU-
Thank you so much
Very cool 😎
This game is a rail shooter that makes music right? I want to play it so baaadly!
When you realize it starts with someone constantly saying 'kek'.
this is so good!

I absolutely love 0:00 to 2:03
Astonishing!
nice avatar :) rez is pretty much this games father. made by the same people isnt it?
Yes sir.
what style of music is this? i LOVE IT :D
J-pop, electronic, and/or trance

Wait, is there no vocals in the actual song? :c
save the Lumi!
7:55 817,000 points, oh cool! :)
WHY IS THIS NOT ON THE WII?
Probably wasn't capable of the visual fidelity this game held. Rez would have worked perfectly on Wii, it's a shame that never happened.
Anybody else try to play this shit on kinect
Tim Johnson bruh my arms...
Yep and I hated how my arms felt after playing this and Evolution. Can't do it man.
@InduztrialDog Your language sounds veery informal and should change right now
Not the same without the vocals, but still awesome...
@kazemaru0 nobody complained on where they see the forums for this game. might be the only reason...
This song gives me goods sensations!
We own Mizuguchi for developed this wonderful game!! Child of Eden ROCKS!!!
Where did you get the first and last images? I can't find them anywhere.
Does anyone know of any songs like the one from 4:00 to 5:17 that progressively becomes faster and faster?
Wait So Long by Trampled by Turtles
Countdown from The Stanley Parable

This soundtrack was never going to live-up to Rez standards, I like it but I wish there was more variety.
what??? thats a huge amount of bullshit, Soundtrack's is equally goods as Rez
James Vega but it's the same songs by the same band just remixed differently.
You can't say that it comes near to the amount of variety on REZ
actually, yeah I can dude
