Call of Duty went from being "go here, shoot guys, mission complete" to being more and more cinematic. You sit down and watch a movie, *sometimes you shoot guys. The next MW is gonna be like "Until Dawn".
Vanguard had many lengthy cutscenes too. But at least the missions were a lot better than MW. Hopefully Treyarch doesn't forget how to make a good campaign again 🤞
@xboxgoatman I never said they did. I was referring to the Black Ops 3 campaign being awful, and hoping the Black Ops 5 campaign doesn't turn out the same way. Since Treyarch is the next in line to make a COD again.
You guys nailed this. I HATED this campaign. The slow speed 24 minute chase was terrible and laughable. The Alone mission made me want to break shit. Worst COD campaign I've ever played. I only finiished it for the multiplayer unlocks.
old MW had missions which contained stealth like 'All Ghillied Up', explosive ones like the AC130 missions, and even intense all out ones like 'battle of Paris' or the white house mission. But the recent ones are so boring lol
The robot from infinite warfare is more memorable than anyone in m2w. I just think the story was made by people who watched alot of the blacklist and superhero movies.
Shepard's betrayal is one of those moments that's such a classic moment in gaming that I feel like they were never gonna top it. Personally, the ONLY way I could think to make it work would be if this time, Shepard was a red herring and not actually the bad guy. Like you're informed there's someone leaking intel and all us cod vets already got Shepard in our sights. You suspect him of being the traitor so you take him out, but then you find out he was actually a good guy trying to warn you the real traitor was the person who just send you to kill him (probably make it Laswell to give her more purpose in the story and give it some weight since she was with you since mw 2019). Then by the time you realize you've been tricked, they decide to cut loose ends and try and kill you. Just having Shepard and his shadow company once again be the bad guys just felt like they wanted to have their shepard betrayal moment like classic MW2, but were too scared to change anything.
Great content as always! I enjoyed the campaign but you guys are right the story was awful. It's the sound design, graphics, and acting performances that make this game for me.
Old mw2 had a crazy ending where you pull a knife out of your chest and use it to execute Shepard. This new game has a terrible ending in comparison. Even in mw3 you hang Makarov to kill him and then smoke a cigar, I know for a fact it won't be anything near that level in the next game.
You know what's the best part about General Shepherd in this new CoD? The guy who lends his voice and likeness to him is Glenn Morshower. That's the same guy who voices Overlord from the OG MW2. So they took a nice background character that added some great lines and voice acting to the US missions and turned him into a shitty wannabe Shepherd.
But they reused the name of everyone’s favorite and the highest selling CoD? And brought back everyone’s favorite characters? And the graphics look good? Is that not enough for you to spend $70? /s
Shepards betrayel is lame but the mission wasnt boring, theres ton of room for speedrunners and theres different routes and items that make it highly replayable
Does anyone remember The Hornets Nest mission ending in the OG MW2 where you miss Soaps hand and fall to the Streets and have to run for it. So memorable I will never forget!
Maybe I’m just easily impressed, but I enjoyed this campaign. You guys do make a lot of points that I didn’t catch the first time around. Like with Shadow Company being “off the books” but then not and being lawful lol. But aye, I’m hopeful that MWIII will make MWll a good prequel (if that makes sense)
It’s easy to be impressed when plenty of games in today’s time refuse to make a legit fucking game. More concern on micros then design. But MW2 campaign is kind of better.... then halos
I can agree with you in the Modern Warfare 2019 campaign they take risk on the story but in Modern Warfare 2 the Roman numeral 2 they take zero risk they take all the OG characters and just play it safe
Literally 2 minutes inti the first mission I was like "Holy shit this is soooo slow and boring." I'm sure it's meant to feel super immersive but it's just way too much cinematic nonsense. The old COD campaigns put you into the action right away. Dark slow placed levels are not the move.
on top of all of that, Call of Duty is a Dept. of Defense and CIA propaganda tool. The ppl who get excited to buy every new COD are moronic establishment bootlickers imo
The campaign is not even playable. It crashes every time on ghost. Can't fix it don't even care to at this point. There were so many lighting bugs that made it impossible to even see anything.
i didnt play every single cod but played the original mw2 when i was young. i remember trying to finish the campaign in internet cafe with my friends sitting next to me, all playing same game and loving it. Then i grew up didnt have the chance to play every single one of them( fully ) and finally bought this one. F*ing s*** is almost a waste of money. the car mission just circling the map doing dumb s*** and if i dont jump around the captors gets away, hated this s*** and love how yall just said everything without censor or anything.

Hassan is such a mediocre villain for me and Shepard is mediocre with graves betrayal being a complete change in his character so I can see issues with it but 141 really did carry the story in my eyes making it actually not bad
I like this reboot series so far but you're 100% right that infinity ward cant commit to these games being their own thing and relying too much on nostalgia
We already have remasters of the old games and they are better than this reboot. Nothing can replace the original and it was never needed for a reboot.
I just thought that every mission was just WAYYY to gimmicky and annoying. With every COD game I play I like to beat it and then try it on Veteran. This time, I’m not even going to try.
I honestly thought I was the only one with those sentiments. I played it the 1st time and felt meh. No call of duty game made me feel like that. All ghillied up knock off felt like "run here for a better shot" "run there." Alone = Worse mission ever. I rather do the Mile High club on veteran 100x before that one. The fact that there was no true story...no true villian and the fact that it didn't live up to the experience of MW2019 let alone OG MW2. Giving hope to the new MW3 because if they mess it up, I'll be officially done with COD.
The worst part is that Ghost and Gaz are now two different characters, when in the original 2 games there was evidence to support the theory that Gaz survived the first game and was Ghost in the second game. But no. Since no one at IF is a fan of their own damn series they’re completely unaware of the fan theory
It makes no sense why they didn’t just shoot Hassan in the head when they first captured him. How was anyone going to know he died? Same thing with Valeria. She was held inside a shipping container with none of her own men around, so as soon as she tells Graves that the missile is in Chicago, bye bye Valeria. You really think anyone on her side would give a shit? I would think they’d be happy that someone else took her out because now the guys directly under her have a chance to be the new boss.
the new cod reboot it's too much hollywood badass hero to me, i like the OG one when we're just hear the brief (speech), then get in and get done, not much cinematic bullcrap, just focusing on mission and story, even every character background are mystery until you guys research their background, especially ghost though damn he was so mystery
I had fun with the sneaking level with soap but I was really confused about the fact that Soap didn’t perform basic first aid on himself and instead just took a shot of adrenaline and it’s like ok we’re all good. I thought we would have to find more shots along the way to keep up energy, but it was like nope we’re done with that.
I’m glad you guys explained this to me. Thought I was becoming the “old gamer” and that the story was SO all over the place. Like, am I really missing something? Nope, the story is just that scrambled up lol.
holy fuck thank you for making a video i was thinking the exact same shit buggy and bad there was a mission were lighting effects were bugged so i basically only could look down to not be blinded by rays of god
Spoilers The ‘boss fight’ tank battle with graves is possibly one of the weirdest bits of level design I’ve ever seen, compare that to the mission titled ‘war pig’ on the og cod 4 that’s based around a tank… It doesn’t even come close
I play the campaign on ps4 and that shit keeps uninstalling it. Literally I install it and play it and a week later, when I go to play again just since I’m bored, i have to reinstall it. It’s so stupid how I have to install it over and over again.
Haven't watched the vid cause service is cheeks where I'm at but I didn't like it all that much either, certain action moments in the campaign had no music?? The characters are great but they all did a lot of nothing during it?? It really felt like a throw away campaign which sucks. Can't even compare with og mw2 which has it all, great story, great characters, fantastic music and awesome action set pieces.
I'll leave my opinion to rot here but my view on the new mw2 is that its not gonna replace the game we hold dear to out hearts. It's a new side of a story we could've seen. The betrayal can't compare to the old cod but a game where you just meet these characters just for them to die feels overused. Soaps death meant something to us because we see him rise up to the task 141 faces. We don't play as roach or frost because they don't exist here. We play in the eyes of these characters. The mission similar to all ghillied up is like a torch being passed on from one to another and the mission after that shows how hassan will play in the story from dropping mines in public roads. Shadow company is a mercenary group but their clients can take blame for war crimes and such which is why they go by the books instead of killing or torturing him but without clients no rules are tied. This is my opinion so dont take it with a grain of salt
I was ok with the "Alone" mission survival thing, but when they did it a 2nd time near the end I had had it. Dumbest mission ever. Absolutely killed the pace.
Just got done... two thirds in I gave up and went on easy, such a fucking cluster fuck. Content glitches and bugs. Had this weird orb shit on my screen, took forever to resolve. Enemy's crouching and no-clipping through fucking concrete walls. Plus, all that, and the ending bar scene is just meh
Sweet I wasn’t the only one that thought this campaign was a waste of time. I dropped the game after Gaz started to swing across the streets like spider man.
Set pieces and graphics can be as good as ever but they can't cover up the outdated gameplay/level design. A flat unmanipulatable surface/object is still exactly that no matter how much they paint it up
They should save this type of stuff for the newer black ops games or something when I think of mw I think of action packed run and gun, not whatever this is
I think comparing to the original MW2 is unfair, that was without a doubt the best CoD story in cod history. You guys speak facts when it comes to the issues with Infinite but I enjoyed this campaign. The shepherd betrayal was super obvious but otherwise it was pretty fun.
I have a feeling that this campaign was more like a filler so they could build up the protagonist team and just show off their graphics and gameplay ideas. Hopefully now that the 141 squad is developed and we have a main antagonist, there will be an actual story and you won't know who survives. But I'm not sure considering alex survived his sacrifice and they need warzone/multiplayer characters
Okay. During Soap's 1vDeath Squad, I had the checkpoint come when I was under a car inside an auto shop, and I still smoked them all. I agree with you on most everything, but on this I'll say SKILL ISSUE.
I mean I never have my hopes up on franchise that had been getting on a bad pace. It only proves how much companies had been censoring a lot of what made the franchise good all for a younger audience. Clearly they were only looking at characters and not what made them those characters.
Nah this game fucking stinks compared to the cod4MW and actual MW2. And maybe i’m alone but I don’t appreciate rebooting characters and literally the title of the game for the sake of fan service and to get more sales to idiots who only care that the game’s graphics look really good. Meanwhile they butcher these fan favorite characters completely cause they’re shit writers who can’t make a new well written story with new well written characters. Straight up insulting trash with good graphics and decent but recycled shooting (cuz its cod in 2022 obviously) for fucking $70. If you can’t be critical of some of these modern trash games you aren’t a real gamer, u never were, and it’s both hilarious and sad how companies take advantage of these tasteless basic ass “gamers”
For me, a major downside of the campaign was the lack of a banger soundtrack/ music. This video by SPi sums up what I mean th-cam.com/video/lLl4mVbEjts/w-d-xo.html I don't remember any noticeable music pieces unlike OG Mw2 which had stuff like this th-cam.com/video/-qAcBWlXLxo/w-d-xo.html
Armored enemies were bullshit especially in recon by fire and I got a really shit checkpoint in the fight against graves where his armored guys were like 29 feet away and the tank was right outside of my building
it's really shit. I don't know why we strayed from "grounded, semi realistic grunt action with a side of special ops thrown in." To, "Heres an elite off the books task force that just does stuff....because?" I will say the mission "alone" was lowkey kind of creepy and I liked it a lot. But that was it
MW2019 was actually really good, i keep going back and playing it, it had a story, it had a vibe, the characters and dialogue was really good, it brought up some moral questions, it felt more grounded and gritty then other COD games, and it was super realistic vibe wise, this one feels like a bad fan fiction writing by a girl who was trying to be cool and had a crush on all the cool characters and then put a hint of woke ideology in there, with no story. in a war game. about shooting people.
I liked Alone to an extent but switching between all those different items was a pain in the ass it was like alien isolation or something but not good in that crafting sense way to over complicated
I agree with you guys 100%.. When I played through this and completed it..I felt like it was a damned waste of time. I mean sure the oil rig mission was great and the mission where you kill graves was great(lots of action) but most of the missions were either mid or really low for me. The crafting mission and the rescue laswell mission especially were really awful in my opinion. I hate to say it: I enjoyed the COD ghosts campaign more than MWII 2022 campaign. I know its heretical to say that but thats my honest opinion.
They’ve outsourced the campaign to 343.

Oh boy...
i don’t know how i got here, but i’ve never been more happy to listen and see someone be so wrong 😂
I wanted to play a FPS. What I got was a long ass cutscenes with weird mini games
They’re clearly just leading up to Call Of Duty Ghosts
Thanks for doing this review guys, you just saved me 70 bucks 😂
The campaign is incredible. This guy only did this for views and clickbait. Don’t let his desperation fool you
@@killagotyaazz “Incredible” lmfao sure bro
@@thepond5664 coming from the guy who was convinced not to buy the game from a TH-cam channel in which 95% of their videos is shitting on things 😂😭😂😭
@@killagotyaazz Seriously. I played the Beta and loved it. I think he's just never actually satisfied with a game.
This campaign was terrible. I’m not interested in giving Activision another dime.
Call of Dookie: Modern Wokefare 2 Electric Boogaloo
There were no mass shooting missions
For me, a major downside of the campaign was the lack of a banger soundtrack/ music. This video by SPi sums up what I mean th-cam.com/video/lLl4mVbEjts/w-d-xo.html
I don't remember any noticeable music pieces unlike OG Mw2 which had stuff like this th-cam.com/video/-qAcBWlXLxo/w-d-xo.html
The SoyBoys unknown when they don’t get the same recycled stuff they swallowed when they were 11 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Armored enemies were bullshit especially in recon by fire and I got a really shit checkpoint in the fight against graves where his armored guys were like 29 feet away and the tank was right outside of my building
it’s pretty sad that they legit just remaking the same plot lines from the og games, are they really that out of ideas???
it's really shit. I don't know why we strayed from "grounded, semi realistic grunt action with a side of special ops thrown in." To, "Heres an elite off the books task force that just does stuff....because?" I will say the mission "alone" was lowkey kind of creepy and I liked it a lot. But that was it
Ghost was the Boba Fett of the CoD franchise. To bad they ruined him lowkey.
And now, after MWIII release, MWII campaign feels 100x better
Another thing why is soap so fucken short and where's roach
im by the tank mission this hole Campaign s total Crap...
can a person play the campaign in 1st person?
The people who with the creativity all left.
Wow y’all cod players really do just whine.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt like the writing was Steven Seagal tier
Finally finished the game after having it since day 1 and it was more frustrating than fun tbh
I like a couple missions but it's mostly bunk.
Idk after I finished the game I didn’t really feel anything
I liked Alone to an extent but switching between all those different items was a pain in the ass it was like alien isolation or something but not good in that crafting sense way to over complicated
Cod mw BETA was sill better than Halo infinite after 7 years of mediocre ass incompetent developement. Imagine the full game.💀
