Fun fact: Remember the hearts game in episode 3? In the manga, Chishiya wasn't actually playing in that game. It was more of a filler game in the manga, with none of the main characters playing but it seems the directors saw how much people liked his character so they decided to put him in it in order for him to get more scenes. So you were partially right about them just putting Chishiya in more games because he's a fan favorite. Also can i just say, Nijiro Murakami just has the perfect voice for this role. His portrayal as Chishiya is just so good!
I don't think that was it, Chishiya didn't need more games, in fact, he was the only one of the entire group who had a game removed from the manga, while everyone else had several games added. They just needed to add this game to add Banda and Yaba to the story and the game too because it's interesting. So they changed Jack of Diamonds (which he played) for Jack of Hearts, because they needed one of the main characters to be in the game and Chishiya would fit in well
Super impressive that RJ recognized dude from the bus. And cool for the writers to let that come full circle: Arisu saved that guy, he saved the King, and the King decided to save Nike.
When Arisu and Karube decided to play the hide and seek game in S1 they hoped to find a Doctor to help Chota's leg injury. They did but just didn't know! *cries* Great reaction as always! 💜
Usagi began to change a bit in previous ep when she met the kid and started to protect him. So not such a quick change. Was my favorite episode. Chisiya and the game was brilliantly written.
@@mr.knockknock3705 Wonder how closely they stuck to dialogue. The Killer: A Girl Who Deserves to Die is a film made from one that I want to find. Movie is awesome.
I think Usagi's switch was explored last episode. The kid's story of going back to the world because that's what his parents would want is supposed to mirror her backstory. Through the boy, she resolved that she should return to the world in spite of her dad dying, because it is what her father would have wanted (for her to go live her life). So not only was she fighting for the kid's life, but that speech she made was also her arc. She was determined to give life a second try, even if her father chose differently
YES! Thank you for commenting my exact thoughts. Also, Usagi needs to have that resolve for these two final upcoming episodes...soon, they'll understand why her attitude switch is important.
I've seen a bunch of reactions for this season and RJ is the first person to remember that the guy who helps the King of Diamonds/Beach Exec #2 in that game he flashbacks to (time stamped at 31:36 in this reaction), is the dude from the bus in the tunnel game from season 1, who survived because he was injured and couldn't run.
@@drama-anticsFMV If I hadn't of been watching season 1 reactions right before this season dropped, I probably would have been like you thinking "I know I know him, but from where" lol
Right! I was rlly hoping someone would notice him :( and also I hope they’ll see the “coming to full circle” thing cause it’s so cool but Idw to spoil it for them
And i was hoping they would kinder remember the guy cause he did say "arisu" when he was telling number 2 about someone saving him then just didn't put it in the english subtitles
King of Diamonds is one of my favorite games. Everyone enters it trying to mathematically outwit each other; but as always, Chishiya instead observes. He’s more interested in understanding the game, and by extent its creator, than winning it. It’s that level of observation which allows Chishiya to then challenge and exploit the characteristics of Kuzuryu in order to win the game. Kuzuryu was a lawyer who previously failed to defend his ideals, and it broke him. He spends his time in the games trying to wrestle with his own beliefs, hence why he takes interest in the Beach. Chishiya recognizes this internal struggle by observing and straining details from the king, and also through his own similar past experiences and struggle. By forcing Kuzuryu to face his ideals and finally decide, he gives the king a chance to reconcile that grief within and move beyond it, choosing to die for his ideals. Chishiya envies him for it because it’s something even he has failed to accomplish despite winning the game. Chishiya is definitely one of the best characters of the season, if not the very best.
That fight Usagi had showed how she wasn't necessarily a 'fighter' and the Game master had martial arts training. Died with her own sense of honor. Attorney at least resolved something in himself.
I agree, their conversation here was fire and and I think no one expected Chishiya to be a pediatrician, which was surprising. Another great reaction, I actually laughed a lot 😄 Thank you!
She only switched up so she can win the tag game for the little boy. It was between the boy and the queen to win, she needed all the players on his side.
I liked all face card masters, their endings left me quite emotional. Chishiya’s games are superb and my favorite. Ps I would have never fallen for Usagi’s words (of convincement) tho 😂
I absolutely love how they showed it in the trailer that Chisiya was a doctor in the real world but I guess you guys forgot about it and got so shocked with the reveal. it made your reaction so much better. absolutely loved his backstory and I would have never guessed that he was a doctor either.
You guys are legends! Agreed this is a high tier Season 2 episode, mostly "Nike's" game being boss! There is a cool Nike game in the manga that is not shown in the show but I will not slam down any spoilers.
36:21 romcom you say? gosh there's so many good ones... some of my favourites include : "Yumi's cells" with 2 seasons and what's interesting is that its half animated :) "Do you like Brahms?" (female lead played by our Woo to the Young to the Woo girl) "What's wrong with secretary Kim?" "Dali and cocky prince" "One spring night" "Something in the rain" "Twenty five twenty one" (starring a familiar face from Weak Hero class 1) "Pinocchio" "Fight my way" "Start-up" "Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Joo" "Youth of May" "Doom at your service" also internationally not as popular as it should be, so not a lot of people would mention it and not really a romcom, but definitely worth watching "Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim", 2 seasons are out and they're currently finishing up the 3rd one - also a few familiar actors in this one :)
You guys are one of my favorite reaction channels! And you are from around my way too!! (DC) I loved your reaction most during the King of Diamond game!! Keep up the great work!
Yall know what's wild? In the first season Arisu and Karube went to the game where we was first introduced to Chishiya, because they were looking for a doctor to save Chota because he messed up his leg in the fire room game. Chishiya could have saved them bro.... i miss Chota
In the manga, Usagi had decided to do her best with that jump in the King of Clubs game. She put her life into that jump, then she and Arisu went far away together, not joining any more games. The Queen of Spades never appeared in the manga.
Same here. After having a quick watch of season 2 right after it released I wanted to go back and watch the whole series again just to really enjoy and absorb everything.
I had so many favourite moments in this season, I really like majority of the citizens in borderland but I won’t spoil the other information that I find rlly interesting until the reaction of your last ep. I know kuzuryu is not rlly the top favourite characters in the fandom but I quite liked his character and the fact that he ended up impacting chishiya
it makes perfect sense that Usagi changed her mind on the real world at this specific point, considering her character arc in season one. Being separated from Arisu and then meeting the kid is the perfect segway into her dealing with her pragmatism compared to Arisu's idealist nature and reinforcing the same ideals that the Queen of Spades tried to beat out of her. She was directly challenged on those same views during the King of Clubs too. So I don't see why this would be too fast, it's been gradual since before this season started, even the conversation between her and Arisu at the start of season 2 had her wavering and feeling lost, not stubborn that she wanted to stay.
9:16 the translation here was off, the little kid said " oneechan " which means big sister. This term usually kids say it to girls that are older than them.
Y'all translations are different from mine. At the end of the game in mine he says something like "you quit while you were ahead. I'm jealous of you." I noticed y'all translation was different last episode too. Interesting how it can kind of change what's being said! I wonder if y'all are using CC? Or maybe I'm using CC and didn't realize it? Lol. Also, the scene with the guy that saves him is the guy from the game on the bus! He still has the wrap around his ankle and everything! :)
Great reaction. I think Usagi changed her mind about staying in that world because of the boy. If I had to guess, I feel she probably pictured herself trying to raise a kid in that type of world.

The guy that saved number 2 in the game was the guy on the bus that Arisu saved.
