Are you annoyed by reviewers/influencers making false statements (not rumors) about Nikon or any other camera brand or products?
I think a few make false or negative statements on their videos just to get comments and views for the algorithm. It’s sad that it’s come down to that. I’ll watch a few for entertainment but if I want real world use situations I’ll watch smaller channels not pushing Squarespace and KEH.
@@JET-Photo I understand folks pushing those companies, they are useful for folks to build their own sites and have a reputable place to buy and sell gear. KEH is where I got my lens when I started in Nikon digital and where I sold most of my gear to when I went fully mirrorless. From what I’m seeing, some folks just don’t know how to use the product and didn’t take the time to. For some, it’s expecting the product to perform the same as the competitors. The Zf pulled in a lot of creators new to Nikon, they used it for a week and say it’s confusing, it should be like Fuji. Now the Z6 III is here and some of the same is occurring. Let’s not forget the Panasonic S9, a lot of seasoned presenters don’t understand the product as they can only see it from their use case, not for who it was designed. I’m sure there are other great unbiased reviewers out there, I’m discovering new ones from time to time and like their stuff.
Yes, there are some serious reviewers I watch who really know how to set the camera up, and actually understand that it's a tool and learn how to use it. Some others just have the most superficial understanding and make no effort to learn more before sharing their opinions, usually for clicks and entertainment.
As a consumer, you really have to know how much weight to give to each review/opinion based on their history and how you assess their credibility.
@@g00nther The things is, today people come to TH-cam to seek advice and they tend to visit their favorite influencer. Some reviews are rushed however, the later ones should require more knowledge of a product. From what I’ve seen, some don’t even take the time to read the manual or reference guide, in short, they don’t learn the product, but complain that it doesn’t work like another brand. Their
Some of their followers, sadly aren’t taking the time to do their own research and buy into what’s being said as fact.
I was once called out for stating things in my video that is contrary to what “the big TH-camrs” stated. I explained they got it wrong, they had the camera for a week or two and returned it, I own it, use it and am speaking from actual experience. That camera was the FX30, a lot of people stated the Cine EI feature did not work, even though Sony had posed info in the guide on how to use it as well as posted a YT video. So many got the info wrong and had their fans in an uproar. Now it’s the Z6 III’s turn, of course the Zf is getting its share as well as the Panasonic S9. We can hope this changes in the future, but I doubt it.
Yeah it's annoying. I'm getting good at spotting those that know what they're talking about and don't have a hat in the ring, so to speak.
@@PharaohMan007 I’m seeing reviewers posting video with incorrect info, with commentators agreeing and speaking poorly about a product they haven’t used. I’ve had a couple of folks unsubscribe when I bought Sony cameras as they didn’t agree with my decision. Weird. Others want to decide how someone should spend their money.
@@waynerm002 Fanboys everywhere. Now-a-days all major cameras are great with different quirks and strengths. Sony's are great as are Nikons and one isn't necessarily better than the other. I know what you mean -I've seen the same things with other hobbies; phones, watches, clothes-everyone wants to be surrounded by people enabling their spending habits I guess.
