I really felt like this was an amazing explanation with a very relatable and realistic example tied to it. Can’t wait to try this technique on the bugbear I started yesterday
I am picking up new tips from almost every video you produce. I have used many in my kit building, and have helped me create more realistic model's. A big thank you.😁💕 Many thumbs up.👍👍👍👍
I recently started using contrast paints in a similar way over metallics, and I love it! It allows me to add a ton of potential to the metals, making them more interesting while keeping the metallic shine from the previous layers.
great video! ive always just used metallics by settling with how they look out of the bottle. dont know why, but now i have things to try on all the unpainted tau i have
Excellent demonstration. Definitely good to see this. I find myself wondering if the Speedpaint medium could in fact also be used with other paint varieties to achieve that effective color wash/glazing technique..
I'm no expert, also just started painting but what I read is to avoid using metallics and shades on a wet pallet. They seep through the paper into your water contaminating other paints through the sponge. I ordered something to put next to my wet pallet for those paints just to be sure
I do love painting 75 mm models, so I think it's time to grab me a couple more of those. As I don't do speed paints, I imagine inks will achieve similar effects? I'll have to try this technique next time I paint TMM!
Thank you for another great video! A lot of super helpful tips as I prefer to use true metallics. How would you decide what shades to use for other types of metal? I.e. Bronze, (talos Bronze apsp) aztec gold (apsp) etc
some love for the algorithm. And a question: Could you one day make a video painting a much smaller mini? Like the Nolzur‘s Marvelous Minis (not the big ones from them, just a small humanoid for example).
I LAHV GOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLD! Thanks for the great tutorial! Ima use this to make my Thousand Sons look awesome... but awesome as in "God bless you you tried"
@@LylaMevI figure I accidentally found my way to a test page - this project isn’t supposed to be live yet right? Still didn’t stop 9 people from pledging for Early Birds 😂

This is so amazingly helpful, and it's full of great tips! The mini is really well done, this is a great video, thanks Lyla!

That gold effect on the maze head is stunning!
Nice work Lyla! 👌🍻🥰
This was immensely helpful - thank you!
This is great timing, I was just thinking about painting some blue silver armor the other day.
cool trick with using contrast medium to wet the surface first
Wow! Lyla that's amazing I only wish I could paint like you do
The pictures at 6:30, they are the same
I'm aware. I can't fix it. See community post.

Looks great. Going to do my Sister's of Battle like this. Thinking jade green for the cloaks.
This is going to be one I re-watch several times.
Thanks, this helped!
I really like the magenta on the gold. Gonna try that on my next TMM Gold.
It's my favorite!
Great tips thanks

That was Brilliant
Hi.
Can you use a wet palette with speed paint.
I'm just starting to use speed paint. I don't know much about it.
Thanks for any info.

Lyla did you pick up the Rosemary dry brushes?

Sneaky upload while I’m at work 😂 #NotificationSquad
Do you prefer painting models quickly (with speed paints) or taking your time?
Good grief, that model is awesome!
Thank you!
Went to check out this guy and the plague doctor, but it looked like the KS got cancelled while I was looking at it. 😢
