I love the message coming from the players in EL this week. Their heads are in the right place and focused on improving and winning.
Nobody in the Big Ten would have looked good playing OSU and Oregon back to back.
This team can do some damage 2nd half of the season but first things first. Beat Iowa!

Vegas had MSU O/U at 4.5 wins, and by that measure, “success” is 5+ wins. When Jonathan Smith was asked what success looks like, he said getting better throughout the season, so that they are playing their best football at the end of the year. This sounds cliche, but you cannot achieve that unless the players have bought into the program.
My bar for success this year has always been a goal of 6-6, simply so they can get those extra bowl prep practices in.
Nobody expected a championship at MSU this year; it was always about building for the future.
In that vein, I believe success this year also means picking up a solid recruiting class and scoring some significant wins in the portal. If MSU can’t go at least 7-5 next year, then we start to worry.

As a Blue fan, I have checked out to some extent- and they are my fave sports team. 8 wins is a success, but not really. Its just hard to believe the program has fallen this year due to JH and JJ. The only hope is to keep recruiting and keep the current recruits. Im following Lions all the way!!

Success for Michigan State is winning the rest of the home games. Pride in East Lansing. That would be success.

I am soooo tired of Wings prospects having to marinate for 1000 years before they can play!!

Success for Michigan would be winning out. Reigning national champs and the Wolverines faithful were confident that this is a 10-2 playoff team-fine, go prove it and that last year’s success wasn’t a blip and that all of us who spotlight Stalions’ contributions to the operation in our place.
Success for Sparty is getting to the bowl game. Wont be easy given how the remaining teams on the schedule have been playing, but it is doable, as they are capable of competing in each of their remaining games. By me eye, target Ws over Illinois, Purdue, and Rutgers to get to six wins, and any other victory is gravy.
All said, success for each of these teams is exactly what it looked like in the preseason

I'd say they beat uofm too, and one more surprise to go 8-4. Or 9-3 if lucked out.

Honestly, I see this MSU squad as a potential 7-win team, and the swing game for that will be Michigan. Coach Smith already has his players committed and all in from a philosophical standpoint, and I like their defense, sans the penalties. Now it just comes down to execution on the field. Cut down the turnovers, and Sparty will be smooth sailing.
As a Michigan fan personally, I'm satisfied enough from last year to not think, delusional or otherwise, that this team is a title contender this clear when they're clearly not. Knowing what limits this team has, and how the season has gone so far, I just wanna compete with the B1G and beat Ohio State, since Ryan Day might actually be fired if he loses to Michigan for a 4th straight year, with two of those at home.

Only reason Michigan doesn’t get blown out by Oregon is jet leg from travel. Bad records traveling east to west but yeah they will be down 21-0 first quarter lol

It's amazing hearing these guys come to the realization that the games mean less because of the 12-team playoff. Did you just wake up to that obvious reality?

Michigan lost more than any natl champion I can remember. They lost all the senior leadership, plus HC, DC, and strength coach.
It was never going to be 10-2, I was called a hater all offseason. But it’s just reality. They lost a ton. If they upset Oregon or especially Ohio State. It will be successful season and build next year.
