CBFD is up there with the Dreamcast as far as underrated, untapped, brilliance, we could have had Conkers Other Bad Fur Day, Getting Medieval, and so many other fantastic games from Rare, which just like the DC, was cancelled and cut short in it's prime, not even for better things either, quite the opposite in fact, MS had the greatest development talent in their hands, ready and willing for the Xbox, and yet, with the exception of GBTG, Kameo, both which were already pretty much finished when they were a full fat 2nd part dev for Nintendo (which is why they were so good), MS completely squandered and killed of Rare, turning them into nothing more than simple avatar designers/makers, I can only imagine how much better the Xbox One and so on would have been if they hade prime Rare making exclusives for them, that kind of artistic talent with todays technology could make for something incredible, ironically, the only exclusive game worth owning or buying an Xbox One or Series console for is Rare Replay, that's it, and I have almost brought one just for that game before now, hopefully it will be emulated one day, it's only one game so wont be that hard, they might even be able to reverse engineer the code for a native Windows executable version of the game.

It feels like after this game, Nintendo had an entirely different view of Rare and, thus, didn't want anything to do with them anymore. I'm not saying that's the case, but it definitely feels like it.

Funny thing is that originally it was gonna be a kid friendly platformer (similar to Banjo Kazooie). But people said it looked too babyish and Conker looked “too cute.” to Rare took it to heart and completely rebuilt the game to what it is now. Also it’s not gonna be released on modern Nintendo consoles not because Nintendo wants to “distance themselves” from it but because Xbox now owns all Rare IPs (including Conker)

This game was awesome. Their biggest mistake was not rereleasing it on modern consoles as a throwback, I would’ve bought it for switch in a heartbeat. I had to search the internet for the N64 version and finally found it. Conker was like a Deadpool in squirrel form😂😂 that game was a game that didn’t take itself too seriously which made it fun as a kid but the jokes make it fun as an adult

When I was 5 years old we played this game as a family (2011), none of us understood English, being only Spanish. Gameplay wise it was rather fun

They were still making great games in the 2000s and let’s not forget it was rare, not Microsoft, that made nuts and bolts into what it became. And even after that failure they went on to make sea of thieves which is not only a fun game but it’s by far Rare’s most popular game with 35 mil players. Don’t blame Microsoft because rare doesn’t wanna make more entries in your favorite game franchises, I’d love a new banjo but that’s not what they want they are focused on SOT and Everwild🤷♂️

Ironically, my sisters and I would watch my dad play the campaign as kids; We all played the multiplayer too. It's a childhood staple for me, I wish they'd re-release it, this game was a banger
They did on both the original xbox with live and reloaded, and the original in the rare replay collection, if you own a xbox one or series console you can buy it there

Family friendly? Mortal Kombat, Nightmare Creatures, Perfect Dark, the entire Turok franchise ? Those were released in the N64 and were extremely violent

Funny thing is that originally it was gonna be a kid friendly platformer (similar to Banjo Kazooie). But people said it looked too babyish and Conker looked “too cute.” to Rare took it to heart and completely rebuilt the game to what it is now.
Also it’s not gonna be released on modern Nintendo consoles not because Nintendo wants to “distance themselves” from it but because Xbox now owns all Rare IPs (including Conker)
The situation with CBFD's audiences was so bad that this game weren't been published in Europe.

One of the main devs behind CBFD has made a new game called The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup, it's on Steam, and as you can imagine its an absolute gem.
This game was awesome. Their biggest mistake was not rereleasing it on modern consoles as a throwback, I would’ve bought it for switch in a heartbeat. I had to search the internet for the N64 version and finally found it. Conker was like a Deadpool in squirrel form😂😂 that game was a game that didn’t take itself too seriously which made it fun as a kid but the jokes make it fun as an adult
