In this talk we will discuss the development, characterization, and applications of advanced alumina ceramics reinforced with carbon allotropes, specifically carbon nanotubes and graphene. It covers from synthesis and processing methods, emphasizing dispersion and sintering techniques. The characterization performed on composites reveals enhanced mechanical properties compared to conventional alumina, supported by microstructural analysis and tests of strength and conductivity. Beyond that is also demonstrated their potential in different áreas including but not limited to bioengineering and biomedicine, highlighting how these unique properties can translate into technological innovations. The presentation concludes by examining current challenges in the production and application of these materials, as well as future prospects in the field of advanced materials
