@@HectorGarciaCPA I am having the same issue with parts that have are not in our Inventory. It won't let me paste or adjust the Qty On Hand. Also huge fan of your videos! Thank you so much for creating them!
Hello Hector, your videos are so helpful! You might have discussed this but I cannot find the video back. I am starting a new QB company from a very old and big file and need to import all my inventory parts and inventory assemblies into this new company via Add/Edit Multiple Items Screen or whichever you suggest. This is a huge file. I don't want to mess it up. Is there any advice you have or reference a video? TIA Dana
Were you able to accomplish this?; as I have a similar scenario whereas I am moving my retail pharmacy from an unfriendly software to QB and need to enter inventory from Day 1 of business i.e. 1 Jan 2021. Thanks
Hector, thanks so much for the video on adding new inventory to QB Desktop. A few of us are asking if we can EDIT inventory already in QB. In my case we have three tools we use: QB DESKTOP, Shipstation, and Woocommerce and we are trying to get all of our ITEM NAMES to match. My thought was to modify the QB inventory list to the desired item names and then to export that list, clean it up, and then import cleaned up list into the other tools we use. Question: Can I grab the list in QB from the “spreadsheet” view in QB, paste into Excel, edit the ITEM NAME, FULL ITEM NAME, SUBITEM OF, PURCHASE DESCRIPTION and SALES DESCRIPTION, then copy and paste it back into the QB “spreadsheet view” exactly as found? Being sure not to touch the cost, sales price, qty on hand, etc. Will it do anything strange like error ITEM NAME not found if I change the item name? I guess what I am saying is I just want to EDIT the ITEM NAMES, etc. not ADD items.
is there a way to import updated pricing from our vendors for our non inventory items already in the system from excel? it will import new items but not items already in the system which defeats what I am trying to do.
Hi Hector, Thank you for the helpful video! I have a question when doing this fix for all your inventory does it affect any of the invoicing of bills that been created? Also we are updating our inventory and there is alot of old inventory #'s we do not use anymore but there are qtys or negative qtys can we just get rid of them? and does that affect any of our previous invoicing? Thank you, Nancy
Hi, is there a reason for this error: I'm trying add multiple items at once with LISTS > ADD/EDIT MULTIPLE LIST ENTRIES > and then copying from excel and pasting but only the first cell gets pasted?
hi hector, could u pls guide me how to check the manual entered bank account for the cheques issued in separate screen of statement.regards dinakar from kenya
Hello Hector We have about 75 different U/M; we are creating new company file from scratch for new fiscal year. How can we import list of items with associated U/M. We have about 75 different u/m. Please advise.
Hector once again great video... Would you be willing to create a video showing importing Advanced Inventory bin location items into QuickBooks Desktop with TPI?
Hi Hector, thanks so much for your video, can you guide us how to update multi currency from different suppliers (USD, JPY, EUR, HKD) from different countries. thanks
Hi Thanks Hector for the video, it is very much helpful & very clear If I want to add multiple supplier invoices with bulk quantities like this, would it work in the same way Because I need to create a credit entry in the supplier ac while debiting the inventory Appreciate if somebody guide on my question
thank you Mr. Hector Garcia CPA instructor really I got more improvement of QuickBooks for this clip but still I need the answer of some questions which include subitem importation from Excel to QuickBooks Pls Help me
Thanks! This process seems very easy for adding new inventory. However, I need to update pricing on about 4,000 of my 10,000 existing items (and most, if not all, of the prices are unique to each item, so the "copy down" method in the video will not do the trick). Pasting the Items to the bottom of my existing Item list only generates the error message that" the Items already exist in the list above"- which, I understand, but that's going to be the case when I'm trying to edit existing item values. So, the Add/Edit Multiple Items functionality here does not seem so useful for bulk editing in my scenario.
Hector....love your tutorials, always informative...following you for the past few years.
Thank you!
i bought a used tool, how do i take inventory items (parts)to repair the tool. then i want to have the completed tool in inventory to sell.
Hi Hector, this method was explained well. My issue I ran into was, it says Data cannot be pasted into Qty On Hand. Is there a way around this?
If the item already exists, you cannot touch QTy

You can’t edit the item one in batch... must be one by one
@@HectorGarciaCPAThanks, Hector. We appreciate your responsiveness.
Hey grea tstuff!! One mini question can you edit an Assembly Item to become a Part Inventory ? or do I have to export and import again as Part?

Hi, is there a reason for this error: I'm trying add multiple items at once with LISTS > ADD/EDIT MULTIPLE LIST ENTRIES > and then copying from excel and pasting but only the first cell gets pasted?
Would you explain what happens to inventory when you switch from Average pricing to FIFO.?
As of that date, QB will track it as FIFO, whatever was already there, would be AVG

Right.. you should use the IIF method or the Advanced Excel Method
