I think you could add the fine detail by scoring lines into the microphone with a knife. Then crimp the pipe by squeezing with your pliers and you'll get lines pressed in! I'm surprised you didn't use your milliput and mould method to recreate the microphone, though!
This was always one of my favorite figs too! The clear plastic abdomen always looked really cool to me. They may not pass a close inspection, but your work more than did the trick for display purposes. Fantastic work, Dave! Thank you for sharing!!

Great video! Hey here's a tip for the grooves on the microphone, simply heat your x-acto blade and imprint the live edge on the plastic one groove at a time, then sand off any melted burr with your nail file.
Always impressed with your toy fixing workarounds, but even more impressed that you never glue your fingers together every time you bring out the super glue!!
great vid the 2 1b you broke could be a good body base for a droid custom maybe 4lom zuckass arms and a deathstar droid head and paint could look awesome
These turned out really good! I feel like something as detail heavy as this would benefit from a simple mold and recast tho. But still turned out looking great!
You could certainly make a mold for this. I wanted to show what could be made if you didn't have an original as I think that will be the starting point for many people.
One of those molds you made in previous videos and some miliput could probably create those vocoders with the fine detail. Maybe one for another video 👍
Great repairs! I love 2-1B. 😃 Here's a suggestion for an alternative to the rubber tube. Waxed cotton cord. It has a texture just like the original plastic and would be easy to paint or colour with a Sharpie. I used some brown waxed cotton as a replacement for the retro Indy figures incredibly short whips. It looks perfect.
I know the fixes here are about being fairly uncomplicated, but I bet if you got some heat shrink tubing over a piece of braided wire cable or stiff braided string and shrunk it down with hot air you could get a pattern to appear on the hose. Great video as usual!
I have never seen this figure in person, but for me, the tube/wire has always looked like those "silver" wires that has a clear tube on the outside (like a housing) I cant remember where I have seen those, or in what sort of content, but that is what pops up in my mind. 😄 ED: Almost like a breaking wire for your bike.

Fix the glued head one and make some arms with the broken stubs of the broken arms don't matter if it matches you could make arms that hold stuff like a blaster or something custom arms?

I agree that the silver touch up will need to match the original silver. otherwise it will be spotted easily - then again we aren't painting the Cistine Chapel. Could the sticky issue with the paint have time to cure and harden? All up looks good!!

Speaking of tubing, does anyone know of any online guides that give exact measurements of GI Joe or MASK tubing used on their accessories? I bought some tubing from Ebay a couple of years back mainly for my MASK "Venom's Revenge" Miles Mayhem, but also for one or two Action Force figures. I know I could cut it to any old length and I'm being a bit OCD about it, but I'd like to replicate my original tubing as closely as possible.

Great result. A slightly longer tube with some 1mm aramature wire up the middle will help the shape of the 'microphone lead'.

I'd go down the same route as this. Pieces of styrene shaped to fit. Repro ones are also an easy option for the weapon.

It's a droid, use the remains to make a new kitbashed droid.
Should of just molded the parts from blue stuff and milliput and make an exact copy and save time.
If I found a battered one without the microphone vocoder, I can alter it into a freelance robot character. What do you think of that?
