    Great trailer. It’s funny that they went out of their way to make the axle tuck up high for clearance then they bolted the spare tire on the bottom and took away the clearance.

    I like the review, what you will contend with is people that have no idea about trailers telling you they know everything. Solar is added IF you want it not everyone will want it so for the people that need solar they will add it for you. Trailers cost a lot of money new, people do not understand this. You can put a toilet in here even just a bucket one if you want. If you do not like color they usually have more than one option. If you are going to do trailers you will have some of the dumbest comments I have read on YT, sad but campers seem to bring out the people that think it has to be exactly like the reviewed camper they somehow do not understand there are options and you can change things. Good luck I look forward to the reviews and the comments will be fun to laugh at. Stay safe and have fun!! (edit) Forgot you will have some that think you will need a dual wheeled vehicle to pull that trailer. At least a 4500 or 450 to pull the smallest trailer and they will cry like little babies when you point out it is very light and designed to be pulled by a minivan not a semi tractor.

    Technically you can't go into the wild with it. Because you can't. Here is some food for thought: It's not self sustainable. Also why tuck away the axle into the chassis and put the spare tire in the way? That makes no sense to me. I would probably tear that tire up on rocks, it wouldn't last, keeping the exterior looking pretty isn't very practical. In addition, For a little more $$$ you should have considered a solar panel and at least 2 deep cycle batteries, cant recall if you have running water...? You have some serious competitors and although not everyone is into moab style camping. A large majority are definitely into being off grid or having a self sustaining camper by implementing a few more details you would be catching the attention of many more seeking something off grid. Good walk around. Thank you for sharing

  • @jonstarritt848
    @jonstarritt848 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    1. The spare location limits ground clearance and negates the work done to raise the axle.
    2. The spare is not matched to the tires on the trailer. It will be dangerous to use one all terrain tire and one on-road tire of different sizes. Because they are from different manufacturers, even if they are listed as the same size, they will actually measure different from each other.
    3. For emergency purposes the trailer tires and wheels should match those on the tow vehicle.
    4. Optional side steps because if they made the fenders strong enough to stand on they couldn't upsell/upcharge the buyer.
    5. Rugged decals because the buyer is paying to advertise/market for the company.
    6. Cheap window AC unit which is in a horrible location. His shoes are all over it when he stretches out.
    7. Using standard 110v/120v AC and TV instead of 12v units made for trailers and RVs. Artificially limiting the buyers usability.
    8. How is the body constructed? All fiberglass? Plywood sheets with fiberglass skin? Wood frame? Aluminum/steel frame?
    9. Without any description of the strength and durability of the body, it appears they took an on-road trailer made for RV parks and just added some all terrain tires for "offroad" use.

    Lets put a torsion bar axle on it for more ground clearance then mount the spare underneath for less ground clearance. Why not mount the spare behind a fender on one side, it will not hang you up on a rock, get damaged by ground obstacles, easier to remove, easier to check pressure and will stay cleaner.

    for a 2 door Rubicon, trust me you will feel the weight of this teardrop in your gas mileage. Its big but its heavy also, if you are off-roading and have to pull this tailor off and turn it around, its very heavy to do that. For 2 door jeeps I would strongly not recommend this tailor. NuCamp Tag boondock, and the Visabule teardrops are your best $21k teardrops for the 2 door Jeep in my opinion. there are other teardrops that are made just for off-roading that are much smaller and better equipped for offroading

    This unit possibly the worst I've seen. First and foremost is being able to sleep, no length or width for comfort. Second is all the garbage that's require you to be tethered to a full hook up. Tires as a feature, match my trailer tires to those on my Jeep and in some cases this may require wheel wells or side flat fenders. If given on of these I'd be stripping it down and refitting it. Which I now state that I'm in the process of refitting a 4 liter powered 1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer for overland use, and been considering trailers. Thus I have to thank TFLoffroad for showing me what I will be avoiding as this unit, as the designer|company lost touch with the intended use. lmao smh

    21K with no commode? No thanks. Off grid all those amenities are useless. In a campground you have no privacy for when nature calls outside the trailer. So in essence all that money is wasted for a bed with a hard shell cover. Can get that in a proper SUV. ;)

    Adventure trailer? This thing is only designed for 110 hookup (campground), it literally weights a metric ton, and has half its clearance taken away by the spare (side mounting would be the natural choice). It's more a road trailer, that may be able to manage a little dust in a dirt road.

    Most of these teardrop type trailers are purchased by first time RV campers, (me included) after using it a few times you find that you get tired of not being able to stand up in them or having to get up in the middle of the night and go outside to go to the bathroom. Cooking outside is ok if the weather is nice, but doing it in the morning if the weather is not ideal is not fun. I had the Intec flyer for just over a year and sold it for the reasons I mentioned. They are basically hard sided tents. A $22,200 tent. This trailer looks like the sleeping arrangement was a afterthought, the cushions they use look like they just went to Walmart and purchased what they had on the shelf, they block the AC unit and Fireplace, and who sleeps with their head up at that angle?
    I now have a class B camper van that I can stand up in and it has all the amenities inside of it. Much more convenient when out camping, especially when you are getting up there in age.
    Still for younger people they might not even have any issues with what I mentioned and thoroughly enjoy the trailer, When I was younger I used to camp with just a pup tent and small camp stove and was happy, back then a tent cost around $29 and a camp stove $10.

  • @uweschroeder
    @uweschroeder 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A few things about the review: this trailer doesn't even come standard with a battery installed, so you will have to get a battery, charge controller, solar panels etc. It's pre-wired for it but expect to drop another couple of grand on it to make it useable in any off-road scenario.
    Also you can't legally tow it with a 2 door Jeep - it has a gross weight of 2200lbs, so 200 lbs more than the jeep can tow. Your statement about a 4 door Wrangler having a 3500lbs tow limit is wrong: only the 4 door Rubicon has that tow limit because it's the only one with a 4.10 gear ratio in the diffs. All other models without that gear ratio(Sport, Sahara) have a 2000lbs tow limit.
    So overall this trailer is not "jeeps best friend" - it's too large and misses things you would need to go into the boonies. Also pretty much everything in there runs on 120V - so it's really designed to be towed to a campground with hookups.
    There are other campers out there which already come with everything 12V including the TV, have a battery and solar panel, roof rack and awning and cost some 5 grand less - plus they weigh less with a gross weight under 2000lbs so you actually can tow it with a jeep.
    BTW: the two doors are not for storing stuff inside. They're so you can go pee at night without crawling over the other person.

  • @ajf5823
    @ajf5823 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s irresponsible for you to recommend this 1800lb trailer for a 2 door Jeep Wrangler with a towing capacity of 2000lbs. It might be “legal” but it’s not safe or enjoyable to tow., especially up and down mountain passes.
    You should have a towing margin of 20-30% and that’s 1400-1600lbs for a 2 door Wrangler. This trailer is above that, especially when you add gear. You have to take into consideration all the weight you add to the dry weight with gear.

    Looks like I’m commenting late here but I’ll offer my opinion anyway. Please take these trailers out for a camp! You don’t review cars and trucks sitting on the dealer lot, you take them out and drive trails and pulls trailers on hills. It would be nice to see a review of these while camping. You’d quickly see that it has two doors because you don’t want to crawl over the other person at 3:00 am for your morning wee. I live the the PNW and an awning is a must for rain and wind shelter, sun is a luxury only seen 2.5 months a year and we don’t hide from it. Leveling jacks are a large consideration. If you camp in remote unimproved places (my preference) then these jacks need to have enough extension and stability to do the job. What kind of batteries do these trailers have? Is solar an option? Being able to stay off grid longer with a good solar setup means the food stays cold and the fans/heaters work to maintain comfort. How well does that trailer do bouncing down a forest service road , some become quite rough. How did the axle perform? How did the fit and finish do? Want to expend that then do a water crossing! Did it leak? Kinda important and relevant to my market. You guys have great content overall and I enjoys your reviews. Feel free to look me up if you need a real world product tester. My wife and I spend most weekends outdoors April through October in our home built Trailer and Roof Top Tent.

    Intech makes some sharp looking travel trailers - but too bad that this trailer isn't truly capable of off roading & your adventure really won't get too far from a campground. It's definitely no match for our gladiator rubicon. There's no off road suspension & no batteries/ solar (a/c needs shore power) & there's not even any hot water...too bad, because we like the look. 😔

  • @daveh8097

    This is maybe the poorest teardrop design I’ve seen. A fireplace right up against a vinyl cushion. An AC right up against the sleeper’s feet. Short, short beds and then a full foot of wasted space between the outside kitchen and the rear bumper. High-traction tires that don’t need traction. High clearance compromised by a hanging spare tire. The list goes on.
    The basic envelope of this trailer could be interesting, but the inside and kitchen need a full redesign.

  • @greathornedowl3644

    Jeep Wrangler - you could pull a much bigger 5th wheel, this is something more for crossovers (CRV, RAV4). So it is this or a pop-up tent trailer. I was expecting only a bed and shelves on the inside.

    This is a very good example of a poorly laid-out design. Whoever is sleeping in front of the ac is going to have ice cold feet, should be mounted on the roof. Whoever is sleeping in front of the fireplace is going to have sweaty stinky feet, fireplace is completely unnecessary. Maybe a heater mounted halfway up the back wall so its not concentrated on 1 persons feet all night. The windows on the doors don't open, they're just there. The door magnet prod that sticks out of the body to hold the door open is completely unnecessary or should be retractable in some way. The front window doesn't open or vent in any way and will be a magnet for rocks and stones, even if it is plexiglass or lexan it will get scratched, scuffed and chipped. The spare tire mounting makes no sense, there goes your ground clearance that they worked so hard to achieve. It should be mounted on the sides or tongue, maybe even the back hatch. Whoever thinks this trailer is worth $21,000 is high, and whoever will pay it is just dumb.

  • @markalexander774
    @markalexander774 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The fireplace is adding weight, taking away a potential storage area, creating a fire risk, and is worst of all, completely unnecessary.
    I don't trust all of the gimmicky things. I like the fan/AC thing, but I can open the top and as a human, I have the innate ability to realize that it is raining, so I can close it myself as well. All of those added features are things that can break and be expensive to repair or replace, and things that add to the price tag.
    Get rid of the fireplace, mount the spare tire someplace else, and let me mechanically control everything.

  • @pokeyrebel3730
    @pokeyrebel3730 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can get a runaway for a third the price and it will last 3 times as long and with what you save you can buy the things you want at a huge savings. Also the layout is horrible. Immovable cabinets and the futon cranes your neck. Hell no. And the kitchen wasted a foot on the tail that would've allowed for uncramped sleeping. AC isn't in the ceiling and worse it's directly on the floor between your legs as your trying to sleep. Horrible.

    At $10,000 I would question whether it was a wise purchase. At $21,000 it's a walk-away and never look back. Why not just buy an 10x5 utility trailer and one of each from the Walmart camping section? You will still spend less than $5,000 and be just as well equipped.
