- Babel is the original soundtrack album, on the Concord label, of the 2006 Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe Award-winning film Babel starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Adriana Barraza, Gael García Bernal, Rinko Kikuchi and Koji Yakusho. The original score and songs were composed and produced by Gustavo Santaolalla.
Gustavo Alfredo Santaolalla is an Argentine musician, film composer and producer. He has won two Academy Awards for Best Original Score in two consecutive years, for Brokeback Mountain in 2005, and Babel in 2006.
The album won the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music. It was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score.

this movie and the soundtrack came out in one of the worst parts of my life....and everytime i listenend to it... chillls are all over my body....the only thing that kept me alive this time was my believe in God...once in a while i come back to this track and it gets me into antoher world.....i wish everyone gods bless in their life!

I think it may due to a conflict of interest with Otnicka’s Babel remix version with whom Santaolalla collaborated, being this original version far more beautiful than the remix

This soundtrack makes me feel lonely but in a good way. It's like im sitting in a rooftop and im just watching the world passing by. All the happy and sad moments of your life or the life of your parents/ siblings/ your loved ones. I embrace the world . I can feel emotions of another person. I just love it.

It's the dramatic switch from Minor keys to Major keys for me. That's the emotion you're all talking about. From desperation to revelation and back to desperation. I used to put on this DVD, fast forward to the end credits and play this song over and over and over and over whilst lying on my bed, just thinking. Amazing.
