    I know it was designed and built in Australia but Ford not bringing the falcon/barra to the US was a mistake.

      joseph small I'm not ungrateful but i do work in the media industry and that text crawls and sponser banners are way too long. You can shorten them up by a second or 2 easy. But I guess it is TH-cam so you can just skip it.
      Just very long for short format platform

    All 3 engines are beastly, however, there's no replacement for displacement in my opinion. The Barra is the winner for power and torque being that all it needs is a set of studs and a larger turbo to break 600BHP. If you build it out, it'll handle far more than that with ease.

      All a 2jz ge needs is a thicker headgasket, turbo manifold, big front mount intercooler, larger injectors, fuel pump and fuel rail+ 3.5 inch exhaust, and a big 6870 precision turbo for example. (It doesnt even need headstuds) and standalone engine management to make 800 rwhp which is close to 900 crank

    Barra turbo any day. Easy power, heaps more torque and very versatile engine. Can cruise at 1200rpm sitting on 110km/h all day without breaking a sweat. And when u need too, hit the pedal and let the torque do the talking.
    Stock form rb n 2jz has no chance against a barra, (maybe even tuned).
    If ford can put a barra turbo into a 4wd chasis and loose about 200kg. It will be the ultimate performance car.

      I have a Barra n/a myself. My bro had 2 turbo (modified), my other bro had a typhoon (modified too).
      And mine has done 300k n still haven't missed a beat. Just a service once a year n she runs super smooth n still plenty of go.
      My other 2 bro engines are holding up just as well. But their's done alot less km.
      So reliability is excellent for me personally.

      The gear box itself it's not bad, rarely U hear a blown gearbox for the barra, unless ur pumping out 500-600hp+ than U need to get it toughen. .but the 6speed zf gearbox does have a selanoid issue being burned out at around 150k-250k.
      Due to its ecu being right next to the engine block.
      Out of the box zf 6 will handle 500hp all day without issues.
      U can buy a after market transmission cooler n place it in front of car next to radiator to help the cooling.. n gearbox will last.
      As for the 5/6 speed manual in the turbos. The Barra just produces too much torque and will chew through Ur clutch like a hungry dog.
      Drivable, but U just can't hoon it too much.

      The reason the Barra is so good is because its stuck with a heavy chassis. They made the engine bigger and built to have lots of torque to pull the heavy car

      well the rb30 block as the foundation of most fast rb cars came in the vl and patrol both fking heavy. also the newer 2js that people stroke out come in big luxury sedans. those big sixes all come in shit platforms. also hawkins has been watching too much 1320, its a 2 jay zed not a zee

      All of them came in boats. RB powered R-chassis, JZA80 Supras and Aristos, and Barra Falcons/Territories were all overweight tubs of lard from stock. Still all insanely quick 1,400-1,600 kg cars

    Dude the barra is frickin epic in my opinion one of the best motors out of Aussie I'm in NZ and you can pick one up for qauter the price of a rb-2jz and has way more potential and to be tuned on stock ecu sheez that's a whole nother level right there.

    Lovely how that modern F6 cruises the 1/4th mile relying on its traction control and electronic throttle, goes 10s without effort. Looks like this track is all about grip and control, not so much pure power. Also really nice to see the Silvia with the 2JZ do so well, has again all to do with grip and control I guess.

    All very nice engines! Used to drive a supra, also own a 90s GTR. But for me its still the GT-R, much more versatile than the straight loving only Sup. So its engine, the high revving RB26 will still be my choice.
    I’ve lived in Japan, and when I did that’s when I realized I’ve been driving the wrong car. The Gtr there is huuuge! It’s like a whole different culture. From events, to damn expensive parts. It’s like the Gtr blood line is their national performance car there. Well, we have to thank its legendary records and feats in motorsports, its the most succesful Japanese sportscar on that category. That’s where the true hype came from. Oh.. and back there, they definitely know what they’re doing. They know where to tickle the RB26 and its Attesa ets. But, having said that, that’s one of the things I don’t like about the Gtr.. they’re freaking expensive from parts, engine, etc. But I also love the Supra, its 3L engine, it’s raw rwd fun, cheaper parts. I can still remember its like driving a Gtr on wet roads. Haha! Fun car too.

    got my 2009 fg xr6 190kms for 5k is that good does anyone know its in mint condition no scratches everything fine only things wrong would be inside aircon vent grill snapped and headlights have that fog stuff you can remove yourself at home lol :O did i get a good deal ?

    Going with the 2j on this one, it's the only 6cyl i know powering a car into the 5s on a quarter. Easy to make power on, along with the RB and Barra obviously. And somewhat reliable in most cases. Huge aftermarket as well. I think RBs sound the best though

      You are missing one small thing, the Barra is confined to Australia. If the Barra had been sold by Ford in the US, and sold into Japan and Europe like the 2J was, which meant it had hundreds of millions more spent on R&D and after market products like has gone into the other 2, you dont think it would be doing everything they were?       Ive seen a barra power s13 that weights 1010kg. Nothing can catch it and its spinning in 5th on the highway disappearing in the distance. Its all in the weight. if the ba-fg was 1400kg it would go like a VL

    Most of these cars should be doing single digits/150mph+ easily on a proper prepped track - you can't really tell anything at all about any of these cars here other than how well the driver can control the insane amounts of wheel spin all of them are getting, it's a total waste of time. Is there no proper drag strip around or something?

      It is a street based event to show what cars are capable of without the ideal track conditions on the strip.
      Plenty of these cars running 7s and 8s on the strip, but this is completely different.

      Zfs are well known for being good stuff I think rolls royce use them and land rover. Because there is heaps of high powered Ford's the market had been there for companies to upgrade the stuff inside still probably the better part of a 10k gear box but can drive it day to day no worries

      no that's just them losing traction on a shit surface. on a proper drag strip you wouldn't be seeing tyre smoke half way down the track. all these cars would be getting way better times too

      well anytime tires smoke, you are suppose to ease the throttle to get better time . This spinning goes against racing habits , it looses traction. even in drag racing.

      it's a pretty tall engine in comparison i guess you could try look up engine bay dimensions of falcons and supras and look at some photos of falcon engine bays to get a tiny idea. i reckon it'd be sitting pretty low if you wanted to get it under the stock bonnet

    you don't even have to watch it to know the jz and rb dominate,the barra is all down low touching into midrange.to much crank tq then add boost tq onto that it becomes a skid car.il take a little tank that will rev with low crank tq and take all the boost tq you can throw at it,that is why the jz is a wepon.i do get it but the barra is cheap as chips throw a snail on push it till it pops just grab another 1.the supra is the highway king and the gtr is its sargent at arms.good effort to all that have a crack
