Two great Stanley moments today. One on the receiving end, one on the giving end. "I don't know, cuz we're not friends." 🤣🤣 Absolute debate master here.
I was talking to someone about late-season office about like, comparing Oscar's characterization in season 2, to where he is now. It's definitely a sign of flanderization and all the characters taking on more cartoonish qualities, but I can't deny it's funny to see Oscar sweat over this situation. Much more fun than when they've turned up Oscar's other personality trait "being a snobbish asshole" to 11.
Not shown here but my favorite scene in this episode is Phyllis going after that HUGE bottle of wine and Jim saying,”Don’t poke people with _kniiives_” 😂🤣🤣
The Oscar/Angela stuff is definitely the highlight in the final season I think for me, though it is absolutely wild Angela tried to have Oscar assassinated over it
Thanks for the breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Never really liked Andy. He made sense as an asshole to Jim and a guy with anger issues when he started, but his character never became defined or interesting to me. He's just there, doesn't know what he wants (with Erin), drops his work randomly for boat trips or to go get a woman, terrible salesman (and this paper company is his highest appreciation despite Cornell and a wealthy family?). Not much about him makes sense. I feel like I understand Phyllis, Stanley, Oscar, and Creed more despite them combined having less screen time. Even Robert California (AKA Lizard King) made a bigger impression in his short time than Andy.
I think if you throw out everything since season 8 he's much more understandable. He's not as sharply drawn as most others who get focus, but likeable enough. There was a clear shift after the merger arc to take away his antagonistic qualities, but if you can accept that anger management got him over his scheming instincts (which didn't really seem to be there back in Stamford anyway), that's the only real bump in his characterization as a sort of needy guy who really does want to be friends with everyone (and find love). That's basically Michael Lite, so I don't blame you for not finding it inherently interesting, but it's "fine", and then it's down to the situations he gets into whether it's fun or not.
The thing I do find most charming about Andy is when he bonds with other people, I think moreso than anyone else. The episode where he got to know Oscar on a road trip. Making music with Darryl. It's nice low key sweet stuff. I can see it not being gripping, and some of the bumbling may be too saccharine, but I'm okay with some characters being like that.
Anyway the writers seemed to just have an aneurysm about how to write Andy since season 8. First the only-slightly-inexplicable long term girlfriend out of nowhere, but then the increasingly insane behavior culminating with the boat. I think they must've thought "hey, he went sort of crazy that one time, let's do that again but more!" Too much guys. Too much. I haven't seen a single person who thought the boat (or overall abandonment of Erin) made any kind of sense. So is the show better without him? If the only choice is how he's been written lately, then I guess so, yeah.
@@jerodast can't say I'm getting convinced to like him. He just feels like a background character thrust into the foreground, but not one I'd watch a show for. Luckily the other main/background characters are interesting enough to keep the show watchable to conclusion, but I think I would've lost interest if they added another season or two. Michael/Dwight, Jim/Dwight interactions were probably the most enjoyable. I don't think Andy had that with anyone. Jim/Pam was a good build-up yet inevitable, but Dwight/Angela was almost better because it was less predictable. Andy/Erin? I just couldn't make myself care. Maybe it's just me, though.
Me encanta JAN . Desde la primera vez que apareció en la serie, y llegando al punto de ser muy hilarante. Ojalá hubiese estado más tiempo en toda la serie 💜💜
The thing about Jim is he's the straight man compared to Dwight and Michael, but when we meet him he's a sarcastic slacker prankster pining pathetically over another man's fiancée. He shapes up a bit as seasons go on but he still pranks and still has some sarcasm in him. Props to Krasinski for his performance but he gets lines written for him with actual personality, not a character like Mark whose only definable trait is...being a ladies man? You can't base your personality on just that. Plus, you may not feel this way but I think Athlead is his worst, least interesting storyline by far. He can't actually carry a "serious" plot because all his fun traits go by the wayside. (Also because Office is almost never good/convincing at writing about actual business.)
Oh right I was going to mention Pete but then I forgot. Yeah. See notes about Mark, except without even having the ladies man trait. He's just there. I don't hate him. He seems nice. And that's all I can say about him. Late season Office.
The problem with Seasons 8 and 9 (especially 9) is that this show gets so cartoonish. Like Dwight is a literal cartoon character at this point and it just doesn’t work for this show at all. Even with how crazy shit got with Michael around, it still all felt at least somewhat grounded. These seasons just stretch believability way too much.
My brain read "Jim and Pam" as Jan.... so I'm here to counter and say Jan looked amazing this episode. As a Jim/Pam fan, I HATE/DESPISE their storyline this season
Ed Helms left to film a hangover sequel so the writers assassinated Andy's character. I found Andy annoying at best but they go overboard grin here on to the end.
0:00 You actually think this is a highlight? This is one of the examples of how this season is out of ideas and just ripping off old jokes from earlier seasons.
I'm a little less harsh about it, it's...moderately funny... But yeah this isn't aping Michael's appalling ignorance about human interaction (as Jimmy proposed), it's directly rebooting the season 1 scene where Dwight asked Toby where the clitoris is. Which is a weird choice since they've long since pivoted Dwight to being a little more worldly. I mean, I could see homosexuality being a blind spot, but still.
Eat it, Stanley!

Jan and Creed are just in a league of their own
"Jazz is stupid - why can't they just play the right notes" is my most quoted line from The Office

My favorite gag is Creed wearing sweat pants, episode 8😂
9:01 Jimmy’s reaction to Pete L O L
Not shown here but my favorite scene in this episode is Phyllis going after that HUGE bottle of wine and Jim saying,”Don’t poke people with _kniiives_” 😂🤣🤣
Gina said that? 😂
Your aversion to and disdain for Pete delights me, really makes me imagine how you'd react to White Lotus
🤯 White Lotus! I'd love to see JM react to that show 😂
Have you watched Arrested Development? I’d pay money to see you react to the first season of that.
Anyone know if Jimmy has watched Bojack Horseman, Community or Arrested Development?
I think he would love them, specially Community
The Oscar/Angela stuff is definitely the highlight in the final season I think for me, though it is absolutely wild Angela tried to have Oscar assassinated over it
Off Andy goes to take part in Hangover Part 3

Hey Jimmy 🙌🏾🌞
Everyone all agreed the show was rotting. The OG writer is coming back to write the final arc. You can decide if he finished strong.
For the algorithm

I cant for the life of me figure out who Mark is
😂😂😂😂😂

Am I the only one who thinks the makeup department went overboard on multiple characters, especially Jim and Pam, throughout this season? 🤡 🤔
I don't recall noticing that, but I did appreciate Dwight's neck tan and pale torso during his nude scenes :P
Pam’s makeup is horrifying this season.
My brain read "Jim and Pam" as Jan.... so I'm here to counter and say Jan looked amazing this episode.

Yeah good point
Jim Jr too? I'm starting to think the Jim hate is because you think you're the superior Jimmy 😂

They should have kept the Karen and pam drama going longer. I miss Rashida
Hey jimmy 😊
Did anyone ever suggest that you rate these episodes? 9 seasons in, these people should be like cousins and you rate them?! lol
