mate, just made this trick last night and the dash light is gone! still some error is stored after clearing them with PA soft, but I passed the MOT in my country ... youre the best :)
To everyone asking, look under your seat, if you have a black box with the blue and white wires this will work, if you dont, your on the newer system and you will have to get a bypass box. readily available on your favorite auction site.
It works fine on my E46 330CI 06/2002, no more airbag light. Nevertheless I hope this change will still allow the passenger airbags blowing up in case of accident.
FYI, It’s not working for my E60 525i 2005 after bypassing it with this method. The restraint system faulty is gone but now I have got the front passenger airbag faulty on the screen instead.
The light will only go off after clearing the error with a diagnostic tool. If it comes back on (after having been cleared) with this fix applied, the fault was/is not the occupancy sensor (alone).
U really should say what model this is for everyone is using different resistors but not saying their damn model so how will anyone know which car needs which resistance
The reason i had to thumbs down this video is because the cathode is kinda like a one way gate or a fuse that will pop before it allows current to travel backwards thru it. Damaging other components. And when you solder the resistor to both sides of the cathode you bypass it and render it useless. f#*@ing troll I know sorry I just thought it was important
the diode is present in the mat, its purpouse is to allow the seat occupancy sensor controller to confirm that the mat is present and connected, the resistor tells the controller whether the mat is occupied or not. The reason a Diode is used is if you had a dodgy connection or wire chaffing conceivably the car could think the seat is occupied or not without realising a fault condition is present. As it only detects a resistance change. it is highly highly unlikely a fault condition would cause a diode to appear in the circuit so it is used from the get go. no diode = mat is not present or is faulty. the resistance of the mat can still be measured when reverse biasing the diode. so functionality of resistive mat remains, and fault tolerance is increased.

You are awesome! This totally worked on my current e46 project, and I can’t thank you enough!
This method works very well on my E39 530D. Thank you!!!!

Thanks! Worked on my 06 750LI (e65/e66).. Code 9763 for SSFA: Open circuit seat occupancy detector driver, is now gone...
@@nogoogle8498 Honestly, I can't remember. I sold the car a year ago. Keeping it running was out of my budget!
Looks like the large blue cap on the pcb blew. Would it not be a better fix, replacing that component instead of bypassing?
i followed your video step by step. and it worked. many thanks.
Working perfectly. Many thanks for the video.

It should considering the car "thinks" there's someone sitting in the seat with this mod.
Merhaba 4.7 yerine 4.8 4.85 resistör taksak soeun olur mu
Thank you, Can I do the same for the driver's seat
is work for e46 2003 ??
no need rest from pc ???
Does this trick the car into thinking there's someone sitting in the seat all the time or absent from it?
It's tricking it into thinking it's occupied at all times... The airbag will blow even if nobody is sitting at passenger seat
how do i check if the mat is ok without scantool readings...?
33/5000
Is the correct resistor 4.7k or 47k?
4.7k ohm
will this work on an e46 and when you start the car will the light come on then go off again or just stay off

aftet this, no error anymore, but seat belt light ligts all rhe time if there is no passenger
what car do you have? did you solve this?
working on my 39 thanks
4.7 kohm resistor
1n4007 diode
would it work for E83 X3?
is this works on 2005 e60 ?
can this work on 120 i serie 1 2009 BMW ??????
Great video. Any idea how to accomplish the same on a 2007 Pontiac Torrent? 😁
Thanks!
Y en el caso de honda nissan
Great video!
the stuff works fine
Satellite,B pillar,left. show
perfect look !
Didn't work... my light is still on

It says it in the video...

Can i use 1N4004 diode ?
