the devs added en passant 💀
hikaru is so funny
thank you, thank you, thank you for showing your thought process! Pure gold.
Draw is wayy better than losing, I mean.. He's the strongest defender i've ever seen. Bro mostly won in losing position💀
@@trendingcontent2202 i mean no, magnus is strongest offensive and one of the best defensive. He can magically win in losing positions, but hikaru is beast at defence. He can almost play perfect moves with utmost accuracy, just like engine. Magnus is not engine and human thats why he create magic but if we have to choose 1 then hikaru wins at defence. Dude literally found mistake in engine's calculation once.
It’s okay Hikaru wish you the best tomorrow!

Hikaru saving his best for super GMs😏
In general is easier to play súper gms, i don't know why, don't ask me. SúperGMs are studied much more, thats probably why
@@juliocadavid6640I think he finds it easier against super GMs because he’s played against them a lot more, so he knows their playing style, what they’ll play, what they struggle with, etc. However when you play someone for the first or second time, you don’t know what to expect, so you just have to study a bunch of long lines hoping that your opponent doesn’t memorize as long as you do
Then bro needs to make sure he at least gets past the lower rated opponents. Even if he's saving prep for the SuperGM's he's still a good enough player that he should be winning against these guys.
@@FindTheHiddenMessageHe probably will, he was black here and he actually was the one who had a chance, also, it lookd like other super gms are struggling as well
@@place-holder5221he is just saving prep for the super GMs. Also most of his opponents are playing for a draw and hope to clutch out in the lower time format. This is the reason why Magnus always loses the World Cup as well.
Michael Tal? Hikaru used to make fun of Yasser for calling him Michael.
I'm 100% sure he's saying deez knights very intentionally
what a legendary mikhaeil tal moment bro wp wish u best for next games, fasinating to watch
Hikaru. You should pause for 10 seconds at the start of the video awkwardly staring at the camera. Then give the most energetic WELCOME BACK EVERY ONE. That would crack me up
2:00 says gledura upto this point is playing everymove instantly but its hikaru up 1 min on the clock lol.
A draw as black is a result. Just like in a home-and-home football series.
I happy to say that I understood your entire recap and the possible lines! You are at the top of your game! Watching you play is like watching Tom Brady drive the ball down the field during a 2-minute warning and down 8 points.
Hikaru you said that up to Bf4 Gledura played his moves quickly. Was that because he was in his repertoire against the Benoni and saw no need to deviate from lines/moves he had prepared or studied deeply?
It is what it is
Great video sir
It's great that how you explain
It's a great for players like us who are 1500 rated
It helps us to know the ideas
Omg hikaru 😱u just had to takes takes takes takes classic red triangle check check lobster pincer ice skator and mate!?!??!
You could do a forced mate but it's probably not worth the jail time.
@@You-Have-No-Bitches nah bro just takes takes and qx-A69 and you fork the queen on -S3X and ghe rook on Z12
Im so glad to see you playing so good on the board you played a very good much and im sure you will win the next GO HIKARU! ❤🔥
Thank you Hikaru! Best of luck tomorrow!
I'm Hungarian, but I always watch your videos and streams, so this time I didn't know who to root for XD
Hikaru sacked his honeymoon for chess
Brave to play the Benoni, which is considered somewhat unsound. As an expert I love the analysis here, for example @17:32 that this is a win for white, when you would think black can defend, but I guess the imbalanced pawn structure on the k-side allows a breakthrough by white. Also the decision not to play like Tal by Hiikaru in a short 2 game match is understandable.
Fiane-Cheeto his bishop.
i believe in Hikaru, the 🐐
LOL, Hikaru is my favourite player, but you have actual brain damage if you think Hikaru is the GOAT. Learn to be unbiased and you'll go father in life.
Also bro, please tell your mom that I thought she did an extremely good job last night, And I'm sorry that her throat is still sore.
@@MikeyMobes only in online chess because he flags.Otb he has never won a major title if u exclude 960 which is still new
Best of luck tomorrow!
Splash some water on does knights and kick some butt good luck buddy 👍🏼🤠🇨🇦
Hebrew is my native language but i had to search what is benoni is cuze i didn't understand, apparently its a biblical term.(ben=son, oni=sorrow but oni isn't a word that you use in modern hebrew) quite interesting you learn something new every day, thank you hikaru
Great video, thanks for sharing!
OTB Question: Do you prefer Black to be Black pieces or Dark Brown pieces? @GMHikaru
“One might miss a chance, next time a chance will not be missed”

@@ryanallan5651 because hikaru only dominates in online chess. He and alireza are the only super gms that play that much bullet and speed championship win was with an off form magnus

Thanks for the recap, idol.
Wow. One of the greatest recaps I've ever seen.
Fiancheetoh!
Choosing whether to play positionally or tactically isn't always easy, but that was key in this game.

Big thx for recaps as always.
Good Luck Hikaru !
Hebrew is my native language, i had no idea about the Benoni name origin (בן אוני), thanks!
Your opponent name was Benjamin,
Apparently the Benoni name was given to a son name Benjamin, for the sorrow of his mother dying giving birth to him(simple version).
i loved that kind of video, i wish you good luck tomorrow and i hope you pass
After Rd1 was played, he goes through some lines and we see a passed pawn with a rook behind emerge..thats why he played it
"axb6 is legal (...) Unfortunately a couple hundred yeara ago they changed the rules"
So that was the last patch then
Can’t wait to see you with white! Good luck Hikaru!

Good luck tomorrow hikaru

Ben oni! 🥳🥳🥳👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Welcome back everyone
What are these thumbnails😂
Thank you so much Hikaru for everything you do for us, chess community. Love from Baku
@eddyguerra9524 nope, sir, even though he was tired after match and meanwhile had conversations with somebody. He stopped and did a fan's favors, took a selfie, and so on. He always encourages new players. He is one of the most humble guys i have ever seen. By other way to make comparisons, other gms like Magnus Carlsen just quickly run away from fans.
Nice Thumbnail Sir🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hi Hikaru,
"Ben oni" in Hebrew was the name that Jacob called Benjamin in the bible...and you played Benjamin...
When are you all going to learn that chess is designed to show you peace? (Draw)
Why can't a 2780 player win a single game? ...
Let's play Catalan tomorrow
What is the wound on your right wrist? You angry about the draw? Our some marriage issues?
yes
Hikaru please do not underestimate the lower rated players. They are full of surprises
in hebrew benoni means mediocre /average

Hello Hikaru, will you ever try playing shogi or mini shogi? They are a lot like chess.
This time I was for my Hungarian fellow Benjamin, but anyway this was a superb analysis from Hikaru. Thx!
Those pesky 19th Century devs. We were so much better off as a society prior to en peasant
Man, you have to apologize for not seeing entirely the video (saw the game live) but stay chill! good game with black so nothing to sorry about. be calm and results will show! keep runnin'! great Hikaru!
👍👍👍👍👍
בינוני?
I have the same shirt
I love these high level recaps but at the same time I'm always like: how do you win a game when every GM sees 99% of the lines ?
by creating a line. like literally creating one. it’s little more complicated than that. but eventually it’s chess and it’s game. example with the benoni, is the evaluation says the benoni set up is winning for white, and a 0.3 advantage for white means absolutely winning for computers, but if u play an interesting move that isn’t bad, isn’t random, just a good move that gives you something like, a really good bishop or an active knight, any way to justify their move, the same way a lot of gms are justifying a3,a6 and h3,h6 structures on the board, great example of this is ding lirens famous Rook a2 move in the 2023 world chess championship
@conrostrams 0.3 isn't winning for chess engines. Clearly never watched the computer chess championships.
@@conrostrams a general position that evaluates to substantially more than a *50* centipawn advantage is borderline winning at engine level. a 30 centipawn advantage is *nowhere* *near* "absolutely winning"
by creating complication and imbalances , by taking your opponent out of their comfort zone and by going into sharp line where both sides have chances and where calculating 99% of the lines is rather very hard, and then there is a chance that the game will be decisive that or you just grind your opponent down until they just give to the pressure
To say that they can see 99% of the chess lines is a bit of exaggeration, i think. The number of chess variations is said to be comparable to number of atoms in the universe. What might help them to reduce the number are deep opening theory, tactical skills, general strategies, etc. Even that, i think it is impossible for a human to eliminate 99% of bad variations.
