I have heard it said that the whole of scripture is God talking to humanity, except in the psalms where it is the human being who is talking to God. That idea not only struck me as true and beautiful, but I think a reason why the psalms become so personally meaningful.

I didn't know what a Psalter Group was until I read about it on your blog a few years ago Now I hear that such groups have become regular in Greece too ! I really enjoy participating in the Psalter groups that you organise and thank you for doing this!

I take the tiny blue pocket Psalter with me when we go hunting. It fits perfectly in my pack! Plus I'm already sitting quietly & still for hours on end

When you were talking about the Psalter from the Coptic Convent, telling about the commentaries, it reminded me of the app: Catena. If you haven't yet, check it out! It has commentaries attached to almost the entire Bible (old and new testaments) So fabulous!!!!!

The Monastery which publishes these books (Holy Apostles Convent) are Old Calendarists - they are not copts (monophysites).
30:03 = Random question from me (if you don't answer, then it won't be a big deal): why wouldn't you read the Psalms in an e-book?

Just personal preference! I’m not big on ereaders to begin with and when I read prayers or scripture, for some reason the technology takes away something for me, part of the sacredness maybe? I don’t really know. I just prefer a familiar and cherished book to read them from instead. :)
