    Thanks! Good explaination and example.. much better than my lectures in Database Modeling at the university which only teach us about the abstract concepts without examples!

    Thank you for this video. A visual of subtype and super type is much easier to understand than the stupid textbook for my college course!! This helped!! btw watching in 2020

    Nice explanation on supertype and subtype. However, starting 16:00, the two diagrams are not 'exactly' the same as you claim. If you use subtype notation, the subtype inherits all the attributes of the supertype. If you want to make the right diagram same as the left diagram which uses subtype notation, you will have to add those attributes in Employee explicitly into PT and FT.
