Zoology student here, you did successfully manage to stump me on 3 of these critters. They were the takin, the manakin and the brown hyena. Well played!
Which ones. I'm watching rn. The first one and now the second one got me. I'm here 3:42
I passed if you count remembering that a bear cuscus is an indonesian marsupial but not strictly it's name
I used to work and study at the the henry doorly zoo and I specifically have an interest in odd animals and non-required study like memorizing every marsupial, it's native range, and conservation status as a "all my friends work at a zoo" type party trick

Honestly the phrase "they're not killers but don't push them" applies to pretty much all animals

What about manatees?

The narrator is great. His pithy commentary is both intellectual and hilarious. I got stumped on all but the Brown Hyena and the Mannequin Bird.

Jaguars are not aggresive to humans unless surprised or they have cubs around. Jaguars specifically target their prey with a devastating bite to the neck or skull and as such they are psychologically adapted to hunt "horizontal" animals. I.e. quadrepedes like deer, cows, caiman etc. They are not interested in "vertical" things like humans.

I am a nerdy zookeeper with an educational and bachelor background, but you still got me on a bird... My respect for getting this list together.
Same. I'm just a weird-animal hobbyist but I still got all of them but the bird. It's so strange that I've never seen it in any documentaries, let alone other sources, when it does something so unique for a bird.
If it's not one of the incredibly obvious bird species, I likely don't know or can't remember the names lol
The bird was the only one that tripped me up too.
The bird's really amazing too, reminds me of something that'd be in a fantasy novel. I'm wondering hoe, evolutionarily, it even happened. It still has a bird song, but it makes it with it's wings instead. Can it not sing then? God, now I'm really curious lol.
That one was easy, fairly sure they were in either an Attenborough Documentary or another BBC one. Because I've seen the footage used from that.
Because I have an autistic nephew who's way into animal facts, I got almost all of them, but you got me with the silky anteater - but only because I'd never actually seen them sleeping before. This was great.
Now i feel ilke i might have tiny bit of lowkey autism.

I fell in love with your verbosity to insert such chucklesome phrases into your descriptions of the animals. Overjoyed that the English language still lives.
Verbosity lol. I feel dumb when I read TH-cam comments I've never heard that word before and am heading to Google 😂
@cookdislander4372 - don’t ever feel “dumb” beloved!! Life is so beautiful and there is so much to learn. I’ve been considered highly “verbose” since elementary school because I too just have a love and fascination for words and diction. I was also diagnosed with a rare genetic illness around the age of 10 and that led me to read medical dictionaries out of curiosity of my situation and to further comprehend what was happening to my body since my pediatricians oft felt I was “too young” to understand so that’s where my interest comes from primarily and after that I genuinely fell in love with descriptive verbiage and etymology.
But I completely SUCK at math despite being an RN lol. I don’t think that makes me dumb, so don’t ever say that about yourself!!! There are so many beautiful, unexplored facets of life and such a huge plethora of subjects to study including all the animals I never knew about prior to this incredible channel. We’re only ever ignorant when we willfully choose not to learn. Much love to you darling and happy learning!!! ☺️✨

Fun fact about the club-winged manakin: the males have solid ulnas (bone in the wing) instead of hollow bones like most other birds. This helps them to make that sound but is very likely to be a disadvantage to their flying abilitys
Makes me wonder if the club wing from the name is literal, though. Reminds me of how swans have a bony spur on their wings they can whack you with.
You are the next generation David Attenborough, phenomenal content, kids don’t need to buy the books no more when peeps like you give such engaging and factual resources as this, never change, thank you dude
Ok maybe they still need books but the fact that you make this content so digestible and relatable gives many the chance to learn without the financial burden of purchasing an Encyclopedia. That’s what I meant to say, again, thank you man
Well books are being banned in Florida and Texas and other red states so thank goodness that kids have access to these videos at least.
Way to make this animal video politically partisan. Also, they aren't banning books outright, and you advocate for "book banning" too. I guarantee there are books out there you don't want kids to have access to, which makes you a hypocrite. Have a great day.@@MileyCyrusPartyUSA

You got me on 6 of them for real. But I knew them all the second time I watched it 😂😂. Keep doing your thing bro.
What takes longer? The research, editing or writing the masterpieces that are you scripts? I’m always so pumped when I see you’ve released a vid.

Lmfaooo! Buddy said, "Somethin from the Bronx." 😂
Great video! I only got the tapir (from a big game hunter comic book I read in the 50's!)
Outstanding young man! Thank you
I hadn’t realised our Bilby’s weren’t a widely known mammal. I’m glad to see them being more represented nonetheless.
Also Bandicoots aren’t known that well either?? They’re an everyday occurrence out here. They have terrible eyesight, and have little to no survival instincts. They’re stupid, but they’re fast. They’ll often bump into you if you’re near them because they can’t see well, but they also won’t then run away because of their lack of survival instincts… they’re funny little critters.
Outside Australasia, we only know bandicoots from the Crash videogames, or perhaps Animal Planet (I for one played Crash Bandicoot as a kid and didn't find out it was a real animal until I was today years old). In America, our only marsupial is generally considered gross/fugly, and Europe/Africa have none. Non-Aussies often assume kangaroos are endangered and rare, lol I mean we've never seen one!
We have both in south west WA, along with a couple of colonies of quokka (cousins of the Rottnest quokka), quolls, so many feral species it's kinda nuts, and the highly territorial Southern Brown dropbear.
@@venenodelalengua Yeah, our only marsupial looks like it belongs in Australia, cosplaying as a cross between a fever dream and a nightmare.
4:03 i thought he said "injured him and ate other people"💀💀💀
You are a pleasure to listen to, thank you for the info
I thought I would know more. I have only heard of 3 or 4. Thanks for the great content!
