I love how these boys put everything they have into making a piece of music 280 years old sound as fresh and as vibrant as their young selves.

Having watched the whole recital many times, this for me is the finest available. The effort by the youngsters for over two and a half hours was incredible and the Amen chorus was amazing. Well done TKC.

Wenn man etwas wirklich kann, wirkt es und ist es ganz einfach und natürlich, das ist die höchste Kunst. Ja, das ist der beste Knabenchor, den ich kenne und NATÜRLICH trainieren die viel, damit sie so klingen! (Vergleichen Sie sie mit den ebenso viel trainierenden Wiener Sängerknaben. Die sind gekünstelt - und wurden selbst als "3 Knaben" aus der Wr. Staatsoper geworfen!)

@@uniformitydubliner9691 in many performances here on youtube the choir is slow and low energy compared to this one. Not that they are bad or anything, it just feels to me like there is more energy in this one.

Wundervoll ! Die Welt ist noch nicht verloren. Ich habe das in so vielen Versionen gehört. Das ist die Beste für mich. Man bedenke, dass hier Jugendliche und Kinder singen. Was kann alles aus ihnen werden. Mein Kompliment aus der freien und Hansestadt Hamburg ! PS: Für mich persönlich gibt es eine Sache, die mich verwundert. Ich bin viel gereist und ich bin es gewohnt, dass sich Zuhörer beim "Halleluja" vom Platz erheben. Aber diese Kritik betrifft nicht den Chor und das Orchester.

You never get so close to the original Bach/Händel music - as they themselves must have performed it - as with the formidable Tölzer Knabenchor and the sensitive, lively Kammerorchester Basel.

McCreesh wasn't the first British conductor to land in Switzerland and pick upp Tölzer Knabenchor and Kammerorchester Basel to peform music by Händel. Paul Goodwin did so in 2011 and 2012.
