In this video Ronald discovers a strange caravan - marked with the Police of Norway- branding. It looks like a cozy caravan, for going camping. He gets inspired and has to say something about Norway and the power and nature of our friendly police. It is a really strange car, if you think about it. And it says something about Norway and Norwegians too. All in all, Norwegians explained by a police car.

I am from America and I think we have some very good police officers here. Many people on here make them sound so bad. Yes they are armed and some do some bad things, but for the most part, they are nice people trying to keep us safe in our towns and in our homes. Like in other places, they save lives, help people to follow the rules of society and meet the tough demands of the public to perform a tough, thankless job. I like our police in America for the most part.

I watched a video about the Norwegian prisons and how rather than punish people you try to rehabilitate them instead so they can go back into the population and be good people rather than criminals! Same in Australia. Only our police have very fast cars because of the long distances here. Our police can carry weapons if the situation demands it but they have to go through a lot of protocols for them before they can use the gun. Most of the time they have baton and tazer. We also have police buses. But we call them booze buses. Not because they bring the alcohol but because they set up the bus on the side of the road and you must drive past slowly and stop so that they can breath-test you. If you have alcohol on your breath you can lose your licence. So we don't really like our booze buses. But our cops are generally very nice people.

I worked with Norwegian Police Officers in Bosnia as a part of the United Nations International Police Task Force. Very friendly and disciplined professionals. I live in the US, have been pulled over a couple of times by highway patrolmen... they had their hands on the holsters while approaching my vehicle. To their defense, people in the US, generally speaking, are not like Norwegians in any way, shape or form... Being a Police Officer in the US is a hazardous vocation, to put it mildly...

Enjoy your peace in Norway, Ronald. And I like your positive attitude about police.
Here in the states- it’s out of control. Not just police but everyone. Example- the Las Vegas massacre.
I love the US, but it’s just getting consistently worse. Hatred, anger, racism, you name it. It’s here.
BTW: cops here have AR-15s in their squad car and they are known to carry when off duty (how do i know, my bro is a cop here). He has his own gun under the seat of his PERSONAL CAR (but civilians do it too). So yes- everyone here is scary.

Keep praying to God, so as stray people find wisdom/peace/light/friendship.
Your sincere prayers will be extremely effective, according to Eastern Orthodox Christian Saints books.
It is like waves of positive energy affecting others in need.
You could also heve a negative impact, though, with waves of negative energy, if you are bad/judgemental/criticizing/proud/distant against various sinners.

@@YOURWAY2NORWAY It''s really only true in cities. when you visit New England you'll see. When I was young everyone left the keys in the car over night - no problem. Go to the store, you can leave your car running - no one would take it. That has all changed with "diversity" . We do now lock the doors at night, but I still don't even have a key to my house so we still don't have to lock our houses even when we're not there. The police are now armed to the teeth and get this...go to Israel for training, quite scary but the police will help you in a town or rural area.

What do you need to be a police officer in Norway ?
Education qualification , physical requirements ( height weight )

      @YOURWAY2NORWAY  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi ebin belji: Thanx for for engaging. I did a search at www.phs.no/en/studies/bachelor-police-studies/entrance-requirements/
Since 2001 the police acadamy dropped the requirement sayin men should be taller than 175 cms and women 165. Still you have to pass some tough (but not OLYMPIC ) tests. They put a lot weight into psycological skills alongside with physics
Some entrance requirements facts from their site:
As the Norwegian Police University College provides a college
education, a Certificate of General Secondary Education («generell studiekompetanse») is a precondition for entrance
Hold Norwegian citizenship by March 1st, the application deadline
Have achieved at least the mark of 3 in the first-choice form of Norwegian at an upper secondaryschool level (average of coursework and examination score) by March 1st, the application deadline
Be in good general health, including meeting the applicable standards for sight and hearing, and meet all the medical requirements for acceptance, as well as the medical requirements for a Class D driver's license
      Have a clean criminal record
Be in generally good physical condition, be a good swimmer and pass the physical tests
Be considered suitable for acceptance through evaluation by an admissions panelSuitable by: Interaction: Cooperates well with others, exhibits empathy, and has good communication skills.Openness and inclusiveness: Shows respect for others, has an inquisitive nature when facing differences, and is actively inclusive.Maturity: Comes across as reliable, engaged, and trustworthy and exhibits self-control in demanding situations.Power to act: Has a structured and decisive personality, takes responsibility, makes independent assessments and shows
courage and conviction.Integrity: Is objective and impartial, has a clean criminal record and is considered fit for service.»Best, Mads

I am a 64 yr. old white lady and I had a ticket for going straight in a turn lane where the paint was worn away that I forgot to pay and after I was arrested my blood pressure skyrocketed so I had to go to the hospital down the street. I was handcuffed AND they put on leg irons. I have no priors and am no criminal so what's with the leg cuffs? Then while at the hospital the black cop gets the call that my son paid my bail and I am free to go and that bastard put those back on me as tight as he could get them and I have tiny ankles. I told her it was courteous to pull up one and she says, "And what do dat tell you when I dasn't?" I said, "That you're rude." Racism is still lurking very deep in American society. It is so sad. We condemn Muslims of being so backward and treating their women like shit, but we often ignore our own biases and prejudices. You are still trying to paint the picture as "All black people are racist now". We should also realize that we all human beings, regardless of our race, have different temperament; some are very courteous, others are less. Some are loud; Some are quiet; Some are timid etc.

Then there is S.W.A.T and they take it to another level. All in all these are our neighbors, family men, well trained and as friendly as can be until there is a target. Interesting. I know in Japan the policemen do not carry firearms. I know it works in Japan since they have one culture and are isolated in an Island but Norway I guess works because Norway is kind of isolated in a way and the geography is quite not desirable. In North American , this is impossible due to huge population and culture of having the government out of the backs of people at least in the USA. In Canada policemen still carry firearms because criminals can easily buy firearms from the USA and import them. Getting some firearms in Canada is not easy, except for hunting rifles. In the US you can buy automatic rifles than can kill a lot of people in a few seconds. I think Walmart in the USA you can buy firearms. A great comparison of similar laws but different cultures is the USA and Switzerland. Both have high ownership of weapons but only in the USA do extreme acts of killings occur, the recent shootings in Las Vegas for example.
