The arrogance of this x BBC producer who no doubt as part of his retirement package has a free for life tv licence is the reason we all need to cancel the BBC . His attitude is one of " it doesn't matter its only the publics money"
He does a point about the BBC Studios. This part of the BBC makes a fortune every year and uses the licence fee to make these shows and send them around the world for a fee.
Just like if you work for the EU your contract forces you to not criticise it even after you stop working for it

Arrogance is something that current and former "workers" at the BBC have in spades. Too many years "working" at the BBC has addled the brains of many of these interviewees. The thought that Lineker would not leave the BBC for a greater reward than the ridiculous amount he is paid by the BBC (in reality, screwed out of the public) is preposterous. Equally ridiculous was the claim that the BBC operates under market forces. How many other media organisations in the UK get their funding handed to them on a plate?

The letters come from an agency hired by the BBC. This let's the BBC off the hook of intimidating people to pay the fee.
Exactly. I have known old people not being able to sleep in fear of very aggressive letters threatening court, gaol time, repossession etc.
I remember when my gf at the time moved Into student accomodation, she got threatening letters from TV license thugs the moment she moved in, as did everyone in the entire student accomodation.
She was so intimidated by it she asked me if she should just pay for it...she didn't even have a TV in her room.

I lived in social housing for a few years in a 2 bedroom flat and kept getting these letters addressed to the occupier and just ignored all of them, guess what? They couldn’t do anything about it.

Maybe once when we believed it was a highly professional , objective, impartial news agency that also provided high quality informed programmes , then it might have seemed worth the price and principle . But the more we learn of the bbc , the more we learn they are unethical , unprofessional , condescending, contemptuous , lecturing , biased and even wholly misrepresent the truth making fraudulent news reports claiming all kinds of atrocities when they are actually fictional propaganda .! Such as the discredited danish footage of a young bot supposedly rescuing his smaller sister from sniper fire . Until we saw the unedited footage where the director yells “ Cut” ! To see them both get up and walk off camera ! This is not the only example , we’ve seen faked chemical,attacks , faked emergency rescuers faking rescues who turned out to be Islamist extremists seen executing people captured and so so many more faked reports . One I remember was the “ Muslim women’s demonstration in London about their “ fear for their safety “ after the Islamist bombings of children at pop concerts , where the supposedly hundreds of women were about ten when the camer pulled back and the unedited footage was shown for what it was , a manipulative propagandist piece designed to mislead . Nope, because I like to watch other broadcasts like on Now TV, and to do that I have to pay for a TV Licence, if you watch ANY live broadcast, even BBC News or Sky News on You Tube then you need a TV licence. It is forced tax.
