I'm in the hospital rn and will be until I die. ( terminal illness) I've gotten to the point that I could have a little longer if I stay in the hospital or go home and "get comfortable" which is honestly a delightful thing to hear as a 16 year old who should have a long time left lol. Colouring really helps me do more then lay down and mope around. Gets my mind of things and leaves bits of me when I'm gone. It helps me distract myself from pain and even helps me with coordination ( shaky hands lol)
I am a fan of true crime stories, but these stories CAN cause a great deal of stress. I have found that if I color as I listen to the stories, the coloring calms me and I get the story with very little of the stress. I have been coloring for about five years now and I probably have colored at least 500 pages. I have noticed that most of the people who show their work do their coloring of pages that are left in the book. I cut my pages out because they are easier to maneuver and make it easier to color and I have a bunch of loose-leaf binders with one binder for fantasy pages (trolls, elves, fairies, unicorns, etc), one binder for mandalas, one binder for houses (tree houses, toad stool houses, etc.) one binder for angels, you get the picture. I bought page protectors that I insert my pages into so I can put them in the binders. This system seems to work very well for me. I am an old lady (75 in about a month) and sometimes my hand is a bit shaky so I use colored pencils almost exclusively because I can erase what migrates out of the lines when my hand shakes. I LOVE the creativity involved and I love how calming coloring is. Well, sorry. I didn't mean to go off on a tangent. Let me just say I highly recommend coloring. If an old lady of 74 years of age can color, I'm pretty sure basically ANYONE can color.
Of corse it is relaxing. So is most art in general. No need to slap the word adult onto it. It is art. You are doing art. Stop shaming people who like to draw.
I totally do this. Right at my desk at work. I'm a software developer, and coming down off a 6 hour coding binge can be really hard. Taking a few mins to do some simple coloring is great. It even lowers my blood pressure. lol.
Coloring isn't the only the way to unwind from everyday stresses. Overall the idea is to find some sort of a hobby to vent some of that stress onto. Find something to distract yourself for short periods of time where you'll be able to relax. The hard part is to not get sucked up into that hobby where it disturbs your work life, family life, etc.
I took up colouring about 4 years ago. I love it but because I wanted to be really good at it I am always beating myself up if I don't produce perfection.
@@edspencer5122 From a Brit's eye view - Trump's a fucking hero! President Trump is an absolute Don of a man and exemplifies what it means to be a statesman and leader of men. The shit that you leftie yanks have thrown at him and he hasn't flinched once! For that very fact alone, I give greater kudos to the man - considering how he doesn't have the 'temperament' according to the wankers that said such a thing. Taylor Madison well just google nsfw linework on deviantart and print it out. I know enough artists who make these cause there are lineworks for everything. Just don't accidentally contract eye cancer from accidentally viewing weird fetish stuff.
way back in the 1970's it was called Doodle Art...and you always ran out of pens before the poster was done, and there were books of geometric designs filled with patterns and pictures....this hasn't just been made up just recently, this is a rehash of a marketing idea that now has a nostalgia market to draw on.......and soak the populace of it's disposable income. coloring clubs and the right books and the right pens or crayon purists will all rise and belittle each other for not being True to the Trend. I have extreme chronic pain that my Drs. can't assess. I find I've cut down on the opioids since I've been coloring again. No BS - it's for real.

Yep - I do tech support and am a sys admin, and swear by coloring books.

Adult colour book is so good anxiety and stress is good relaxing you mind at rest is fantastic way keep calm down
I have a fence that needs painting. I'll even supply the materials.
Where did you get that box of marker. I still color in my adult coloring books.

A lot of adults really suck at coloring, worse than kids maybe.
How about blazing
I love coloring work too 💕
My favourite way to de-stress and relax is smoke a J and colour
You use colored pencils in adult coloring books, not a 24 pack of crayons like a child!
You can use whatever you want. I use both pencils and Bambino crayons in my colouring books....doesn't make like a child.
I have the book that the people were coloring with...oh my gosh
my mom starts coloring too... (using her phone app) -_-
Maybe Trump shoud try it.
For sure - perfect candidate -
