For a solution - I revealed that in a very fast sequence in the video. It was fast in case you didn't want to see it. On youtube you can pause the video then move forward frame by frame by pressing the '.' key on your keyboard. Press ',' key to go back a frame. :)
There is a blade that gives a v cut. It is used to leave about a 1/32" or so of wood not cut. The wood is then bent at those cuts and you have a continuous grain box. Your tool can probably do that also. Especially if you wet the corners. Then you can cut the 45 Deg. leave a bit and just bend the box into shape. Don't have to cut all the way through then glue and tape it back together. Worth a try.
This is great! I needed a project for some high school students and this will keep them busy and trick them into doing a little math. Thanks for sharing!
Nice. Watching along I couldn't help thinking back to being a kid trying to solve wooden puzzles at a local maze and puzzle place I used to visit occasionally on Phillip Island. Twas a lot of fun, until I got stuck in the maze and it began bucketing down with rain 🌧🌧🌧
Neil, I enjoy your work very much. Your channel is a great pleasure to watch and your ideas are fun. Thanks for the hard work of making the videos. Also, excellent photography. -- Dave from Los Angeles, CA
Yikes! Please...watch your blasphemes tongue. it is very disrespectful to God and those who love God to use the awful GD word, and so flippantly at that. Where is your regard for the holy God who made you? there is a much nicer way to get your point across for crying out loud . ugh!!!!!!!!
Nice!!! My Mother is quite the fan of these puzzles so I think you might well have just given me all the info on how to make her Birthday prezzie :D Cheers!
Very cool Neil! I was anxious to know how these puzzles were in detail (had to pause it a lot haha)! Today I posted a frame (day three) AND a puzzle (day four) video... that's for you to see how inspiring you are mate! Great work as always! Keep going!
Maybe you've answered this before, but i've noticed all your scrap wood has the same design thru out, what is it that you build that leave scrap all looking the same?
Whenever I watch these videos, I always wonder what he makes that always requires those rectangular cutouts with rounded corners. It's like 90% of that pile are those oddly shaped scraps.
Is this #3 or #4? Frame, spoon, puzzle, ..there's another one, right? ..or was that the intro? Idk but that song is really beginning to creep me tf out. Ah! .. The stool? Ok. 6 more times with that creepy song? ..I can take it..
...and that's why you have zero woodworking skills. lol this literally only takes a miter box, a coping saw, glue, tape, and a clamp. (drill optional) you could do it, and your fifth one will be perfect.

Pask Makes, awesome tip!! Thanks!
I never knew you could go frame by frame! Thank you for this great keyboard shortcut ❤
Thank you Neil for putting in the effort to post these daily videos. Always fun to watch you work.
I swear by the end of this im going to have the song stuck in my head! Great cute little puzzle by the way!
Sorry about that Scott! ;)
By the end? Happened to me three days ago. XD
ha ha...I thought the same thing. It's catchy.
Yea but some of the WOOD is GOOD. I love this intro
That miter cutter is a real gem! I’ve never seen one like that except in this video and the last one.

Nice little project to challenge the grandkids 👍. As always keep up the good work and God bless 🙏
Well that takes care of some Christmas presents.
Thanks for another cracking project.
Glad it was helpful David! :)
Hahaha... That tune is as powerful as the Mennen aftershave jingle! Terrific video!
This is great! I needed a project for some high school students and this will keep them busy and trick them into doing a little math. Thanks for sharing!
No worries - glad it was useful! :)
What is that tool? 3:56

Glad it bought back memories mate - even if they ended badly! ;)
That was a great little project Niel. I'm enjoying the whole scrapwood series.
Just play 4:34 at 0.25 speed to see the solution in slow mo!
Nice project.
But I’m rwally interested in those tools, specifically the miter box type saw, and the tool used for cutting the 45° miters.
And a other great Video and project - i liked that you sharing your workshop with other people!
No worries - glad you're enjoying it! :)
Is there a simple drawing that shows the dimensions of the blocks and box?
Fantastic mate!! 3 more days of greatness!!😊👍
Thanks very much Jed! I have a good one for today! :)
Ooo, I can’t wait!!!😊👊
That's a great puzzle box! You are doing fantastic on the challenge! Well done!

What a cool little game. I've seen you posting them on IG and wondered. Keep soldiering on buddy. You're killing it.
Thanks Dan! :)
Pask, this series is goddamned awesome.

Simple and fascinating. Keep it coming pal.
So so cool, the kids Will LOVE It
Terrific idea & nice way to use up scraps...................Good job.................. :)
I was waiting your video! Keep pushin’ its amazing your challenge!
Thank you! :)
What a cool little puzzle! another great video!
Pask you're a master; i really appreciate yours videos.
Cool little puzzle mate
U r awesome at woodwork! Love the intro as well😂
Nice!!! My Mother is quite the fan of these puzzles so I think you might well have just given me all the info on how to make her Birthday prezzie :D Cheers!
Who else can't stop watching that intro? :D
Sounded different than when I first heard it though 😂
Fun little project. Thanks for sharing@
I have one of those miter saws I inherited from my grandpa when he pass3d who wàs an exceptional woodworker. How do I sharpen the blade?
Your videos inspire me, thank you for sharing
That's awesome to hear Glenn! :)
Very very cool. Would keep my kids busy for a long time. Is there more then one solution to solve this.
Thanks Jimmy! I believe there is only one solution! Btw it's a very difficult puzzle to solve! :)
Great video again. : ) Never seen one of those foot operated miter tools before.
Nice! Wooden puzzles are fun to make!
Very cool Neil! I was anxious to know how these puzzles were in detail (had to pause it a lot haha)! Today I posted a frame (day three) AND a puzzle (day four) video... that's for you to see how inspiring you are mate! Great work as always! Keep going!
Beautiful job well done loved it 👍👍👍
Thanks Reynaldo! :)
I've watched each of these a couple of times, and it's mostly for the song. ;)
Scrap Wood week is better than a fifty cent raise!
1:43 how to build that handsaw
What is that mitering machine called
It's a picture framing guillotine! :)
Pask Makes that thing is neat
I agree that it's super cool.
Maybe you've answered this before, but i've noticed all your scrap wood has the same design thru out, what is it that you build that leave scrap all looking the same?
Sorry if I missed it earlier in your challange...but what kind of wood is this? And how did you get such a nice pile of "scrap"?
It's Camphor Laurel, it was from a local business that makes chopping boards! :)
This a great make, and so simple too! Love this series.
i made it late last night (maybe past 3) and now i can’t solve it but am too stubborn to look at the clue frame by frame
I see the shadows getting long as the sun goes down on this challenge day.
Yes, at least I finished this one in low light, the last few days have been finished in the dark(with lights on obviously)! ;)
Brilliant build my friend, well done 👍🏼
Whoa what was that miter cutter thingy?! That was cool. Never seen one of those. How thick can you cut through with it?
It's a mitre guillotine usually used by picture framers. You could cut very thick pieces as you're only taking a little off at a time. :)
I've been meaning to ask; what is that fence/gate keeping out of the shop?
It's to stop the little ones wandering in! :)
Pask Makes That's understandable. I was worried you had some wildlife that was trying to join you in some woodworking! Haha
That’s a nice puzzle.
Absolutely brilliant idea, Your on a roll
Hello! Please tell me the name of the machine, that you use to make 45-degree angles. Where can buy such a machine?
what on earth is that machine that you were cutting the miters on!!! it's amazing! what is it called?
what is the name of the tool that you used to cut the mitered corners of the box? The big green press.
Picture framing guillotine! :)
@@PaskMakes thank you so much for the reply. I'm going to look into one!
Great video. Great project. What kind of finish did you use?
First thing that I came across, mineral oil! :)
okay but what i want to know is why does the "scrapwood challenge" jingle at the beginning sound exactly like the Digimon theme song
Holy mental block, puzzling yet interesting!
It’s not just me who thinks of digimon when that intro plays right
What is the name of that took you used to cut the miters?
It's a picture framing guillotine! :)
Whenever I watch these videos, I always wonder what he makes that always requires those rectangular cutouts with rounded corners. It's like 90% of that pile are those oddly shaped scraps.
He gets those timber scraps from a company that make wooden chopping boards!
@@Pidgetti Thanks.
I love this game
Is this #3 or #4? Frame, spoon, puzzle, ..there's another one, right? ..or was that the intro? Idk but that song is really beginning to creep me tf out. Ah! .. The stool? Ok. 6 more times with that creepy song? ..I can take it..
I can only apologise for the jingle! lol ;)
Pask Makes it sounds very Australian to me. ..like aboriginal or something..
Shit... I blinked!
Good build, mate👍
you could make a 30 days challenge. it's great!!!
Glad you're enjoying it Eduardo but I don't think I could manage that! ;)
are the wooden puzzles for sale ?
Maybe I should open an Etsy account! I'll look into it! :)
What type of wood is this ?
Camphor Laurel! :)
Pask Makes never heard of it but it looks like a nice wood to work with
Ot must be something that grows in Australia. ;-)
Since I have zero woodworking skills, I think I'm just going to 3D model the puzzle and CNC mill and 3D print it
...and that's why you have zero woodworking skills. lol
this literally only takes a miter box, a coping saw, glue, tape, and a clamp. (drill optional)
you could do it, and your fifth one will be perfect.
Thanks for sharing !
Hi
Plz tell me puzzle name
Muito legal, parabéns.
AAggghhh. I blinked!!!
Что нам стоит, дом построить.
Нарисуем будем жить.
Оригинально.
Why you are not using your miter saw?
You could use the mitre saw but if you have a guillotine, why not use it! :)
Pask Makes Your guillotine is magic tool but I mean the saw you are using from 2:00?
day 4 🔨👌
I blinked. I'll be loosing sleep tonight LOL. BTW, what is the wood, and from the odd shapes what was made from them before they became Firewood??
I told you not to! The wood is Camphor Laurel from a local business that makes chopping boards! :)
Nice
I have one and put the end of ur vid in slow motion. To easy
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😍😍😍👌👌👌
ahhh i blinked!
Told you not too! ;)
Cool shirt.
It certainly is! :)
So cool to see youtubers wearing one another’s tees! :)
Wood does not have scrap, it's small pieces!
I must say your quite a blockhead aren't you? No seriously it really it's a unique puzzle box.
That intro song is kind of creepy
Hey you if you see that comment you will need to do something that is good
