Agree about the Timeshare Sales guys! We own 2 timeshares and have only stayed in a Las Vegas Timeshare every stay since 2002 and every time WE get hit with an invite to the "Owners Meetings" which is code word for sales presentation. We did it once in Las Vegas (got free tickets to TWO shows) but never again!!!!

A good tip is the people that are selling bottled water on the strip for a couple of bucks. We have found that the water is not spring water, its tap water and the bottles are not sealed properly.

You two nailed this video. The scams are so bad we have no desire to return to Vegas anytime soon. Here's one I would like to add. About 1.5 years ago we came into town to celebrate my wife's birthday with a Lady Gaga show and dinner. I ordered a bourbon at the resort steak house. When I got my bill the cost of the drink was $3.00 higher than advertised. I questioned the server about the discrepancy and he stated the three dollar charge was for the ice cube, no joke! Vegas has become a huge money pit with ridiculous charges and fees. Thank you for your hard work and educating folks on these scams!

My wife got in to it BAD with the Vegas sign photographer ! Our cab driver (cool guy) was taking pics for us, but sign dude also took pics of us. Then started wanting payment. We told him "no thank you" several times, but he wasn't having it. Then, my 5' tall wife had enough and went off on him in front of everyone there. He pouted and left, but not before telling me I married a "bitch". I told him I knew, cause he just got bitch-slapped by her lol.

I've been to Vegas many, many times (being from LA) but back when I was a Vegas Virgin, I got sucked into a time share presentation. They held us hostage for 4 hours, got incredibly rude when we declined, then refused to give us a ride back to where they picked us up from. We ended up abandoned near Summerlin with a hungry 7 year old. Ended up paying for a taxi, in which the driver was well aware of the time share hustle, and charged us $70 for a ride back to Mandalay. Total scam all the way around.
And important thing to remember about Vegas, it's not just the casinos that are after your money. Everyone, everywhere is. Stay on guard, do your research, never be afraid to say "NO." Otherwise, Vegas is a great place! I'm moving there myself shortly.

Quite a shame how Vegas has evolved over the years. First trip was in 1995 -- Well after LV's 70's heyday -- but you could still get a steak and lobster tail dinner for $6 at the Stardust, and similar deals up and down the strip. They were loss leaders for which they'd more than make back via the one-arm bandits. I visited a few more times up until about 5 years ago. There were a handful of hotels with no resort fees, now they all pretty much seem to have them, and many are over $40 per night! Then to find out in many cases that resort fee doesn't even cover access to the pool? Then all this nickel and diming for parking, early check-in, and on and on?
It's become much more attractive to me to gamble at the nearest tribal casino or on cruise ships. The slots are tighter, and they usually don't provide free booze while you're playing. But I don't feel like I'm being extorted at every turn.
Vegas has killed the golden goose.

Been there last month. Checked out from the Strat at 10 a.m. and drove to the Gold Coast. They didn't charge me for an early check-in. Just ask nicely. My german Credit Card didn't work, so i had to leave a 100$ Cash deposit. When i checked out the computer System crashed and they couldn't verify that i left a Cash deposit. They offered me to send me the money to germay. I never thought, they'd really do it. Had a check in the Mailbox 2 days ago. What a nice customer service.

While taxis may be more expensive than Uber normally, surge pricing can make them competitive. This week I was at Resorts World looking for a ride to Flamingo. Both Uber and Lyft were at $10 and required walking to a remote pickup area. Taxi was 50' away and cost $12. Pickup at airport on Sunday morning to Flamingo was $28, while taxi flat rate is $30 and no waiting.
I used Uber to airport Thursday afternoon and made the request while in the elevator at Flamingo. It's a bit of a walk to the pickup area and the driver arrived 1 minute before me. Bill had a 70 cent waiting fee applied along with a "booking" fee.

I don’t mind supporting them, but not if they’re gonna approach me like this. Also, the time share thing happens every time I go there. I just become pushier and shove them away.

Just turn it on them, and ask how much are they going to pay YOU to have their photo taken with you. Or say, "Aww you want a pic with me? That'll be $20.

The 'dynamic' pricing structure of hotels & restaurants. You not only have the variable rates that vary from weekdays to weekend. Take the buffet at MGM Grand as an example. A price jump of 25% for Fri/Sat/Sun. If that isn't bad enough, if you try to reserve a seat online they bump the price up to $52 per person. Then there is the insane prices come holidays & conventions.
The whole place is now nothing more than a money pit that's designed & operated to fleece you for every single cent they can get.

Idk how the timeshares are these days. I went to one like 20 years ago and it wasn't that horrible. A couple hours of my time for a 3 night hotel stay was worth it to me. Yeah they are super pushy, you just cant take it personal.

One of my friends was a club promoter. Basically he was to get ladies into the clubs. There was a dearth of women in these clubs, he’d give you one of his cards and you’d get in without a cover.

Last Summer I did a hotel split, just because LA so spread out. I stayed 2 nights on Hollywood BLVD, and 2 nights in Koreatown. Las Vegas is not that big as far as most major cities go. So I just choose a hotel in a major location, especially Freemont Street. I stayed at El Cortez, but next time I´m going to stay in the Four Queens. There´s no BS resort fee, and I like that classic Rat Pack era vibe. I felt like an idiot, after ordering a slushy cocktail drinks, before asking about the price. It was $20 and up. It didn´t break my band, but I shouldn´t have expected 7/11 Slurpy prices. I was hanging around the bar until the guy that served me, told me I could walk around with it. It was a pleasant surprise, because I grew up in Virginia that has strict ABC laws.

I went to Vegas with friends one time, and because they grabbed the snacks in the hotel room just to look at them (and I got charged for them, the snacks were tasty at least) it was actually enough to bump up my card status for that year. So, thanks for $10 M&Ms and waters?? Lol.

There were soooo many of the timeshare people. I just said no thanks and moved on. My wife tried to stop and talk to them. I told her she could get one on her own but I was sticking around. They backed off 😅. Our Uber driver dropped us off and then popped up when we were headed to the airport. He said it would cost $50-$60 to get to the airport on Uber and we could just cashapp him the money. What he didn’t know was we already had an Uber for $12.90. Of course I reported him.

Prepay r/t transportation from airport to hotel. They will get you to the hotel. then you are supposed to call for return trip. Either no one answers the phone or you get an automated response that makes no sense and you can't provide all the information they want. You pay for r/t. They only provide one way ride.

Went to Alexxa right before New Years eve and I didn't see a CNF fee on our bill. I was well aware of it before we ate there so I was preparing myself to ask for it to be removed but I didn't see it on there. Might have been because our table split the checks.

They don't call it scam city for nothing. Vegas is fun if you are smart and not easily tempted to do stupid shit. That is not most people hence why they make so much money in that city. It's not that hard to part people from their money even if they have to take out loans to keep up their mindless spending. Just put up something that shines with a logo and people will fork over their money regardless of what it is.

Wrt split stay, you can go to the bell desk and leave it with them. We only have a bag or two each so $1 a bag in tips is only $3-4 and again when they bring it up to your room. $6-8 is chump change when you're spending $15-20 a person on a food court meal.

You might get approached by someone on the street to go to a strip club. They'll claim to comp your cover and give you a limo ride to the club. What they don't tell you is that the "limo ride" is shared with eight other random dudes. Then once you get there, while you don't pay a cover, it is a two drink minimum with each drink being around twenty some dollars which you'll pay up front and be given drink vouchers to use while you're there. The problem is that once the bartenders see that you're paying with them instead of cash, they ignore you because they assume you're not going to tip them well.
