  • Welcome to the Presidio in San Francisco, an urban escape that is only 15 minutes from the downtown with 1,500-acres of parks, trails, and military history. The Presidio was first established in 1776 as a former army post that has since become a National Park. Today, it makes for the perfect place to stay in San Francisco where you can experience two historic properties, the Inn at the Presidio or the Lodge at the Presidio.
In this vlog, we explore Presidio's hiking trails like Lovers' Lane and the Golden Gate Bridge trail.
Big Thanks to Presidio Lodging for making this possible!

Spent 14 months (Army) at the Presidio in 69-early 70. Many fond memories, beautiful city and surrounding places.

I live there as a military brat when my dad was stationed there. I love and miss that place.

Wow that must have been a cool experience to live here! It feels so far away from the city yet so close.

Love presidio district. Went there in early 90s and drove to area of homes where you can see the Golden gate Bridge between each home. Then last summer showing people around there was a sign said no tour busses so I drove my car in the area and the people put up gates and bushes to block the view between houses I was so bummed that was my favorite place to visit

We missed this in San Francisco! Though we only had 8 hours there. We hope to spend a few days there next time. That looks....awesome.

You should! The Presidio is such a great place to base yourself in SF. It's feels like you are far from the city but many of the attractions are literally right there.

I used to live here in presidio terrace. Before that, it was a military base. My father also worked for the military and when he got travel orders, we went with him. We were quartered in a BOQ We had 2 rooms for $10 a night. The eating facilities were open to the public too

I was Stationed at the Presidio back in 1988 for a whole pleasant year. Shortly after they closed down the Base along with Fort Mead in Maryland.
